(Ok. A quick start.)
The breeze is cool in the early morning, the day not yet reached noon.
The young family occupies the low of the valley, not far from the forest's edge.
Vale stands, head lowered to nuzzle at her two handsome young colts. She nudges them both, encouraging them to go exploring. First the light hued Veserus and then the darker, Cole.
"Go on."
She's waited so long, it seems... but finally she has her family. Sephiroth had returned in time for the foals to be born, surprising her. Vale hadn't expected him to stay, afterwards. He had showed no outward sign of concern beyond a casual query that she was alright.
But perhaps...
She raised her head to find him, seeing his still silhouette to the east.
--
Sephiroth stands at a small distance, atop a hill and deep in thought. A frown sits firmly upon his face. Two, strong, healthy colts. Acceptable.
Tossing a wayward strand of hair aside, which a shade of his head... he straightens, proud, though he doesn't acknowledge the feeling.

Cole notices his mother staring up the hill and his eyes follow her gaze. He doesn't recognize his father, how could he? Vale and Veserus are his world. He weaves between his mother's legs, ignoring her permission to wander. He doesn't want to. Vale is warm, safe, and her loves seems endless to the young foal. He arcs his neck and bounces, trying to call attention to himself.

Veserus tenatively sniffs the ground and looks up at his mother. He notices her gaze shift toward the east. A stallion stands there. It doesn't register that that is his father. His current interest lies in the small insects flitting to and fro in the grass, in the rustle of the leaves blown by the wind. His mother, Vale, and Cole were all he really knew and needed right now.
He takes a few slow steps away from his mother and spots a cricket resting on the tip of a blade of grass. As he draws closer the insect leaps past his nose, startling him into standing at his full height with a shake of his head. He snorts in the direction in which the cricket escaped.

Vale catches the foals' movement and turns her head back to watch them. 'Well,' she thinks to herself with a small smile 'There are better things to do than wonder about frustrating stallions.'
With a less than innocent grin, she nips at Cole's tail, before laughing and trotting in an arc to the far side of Veserus.
Half-rearing on her back legs, she tosses her mane and side-steps, venturing further into the knee-high grass... attempting to encourage them to move a little farther.
It's really to beautiful a day not to take advantage of, in her opinion. Especially for young fouls with so many new things to experience.
There is a small stream nearby, she knows, that eventually leads into a larger river. Frogs and the occasional fish can be found there.
Without the interaction of a larger herd and with Demyx curiously missing, she would have to make due.

Cole kicks playfully at his mothers n** and then chases after her. Ves' snort grabs his attention, however, and he stops to nuzzle him as if asking what's wrong.
((I wonder how long it'll take Cole to realize he has wings.))

Veserus looks to Cole at his nuzzle and stamps a foot at the grass. The cricket having moved off, he is unable to show his brother what had startled him. He flashes his darker hued sibling a reassuring grin along with bump from his muzzle.
Ves bobs his head in the direction of their mother and grins impishly, flicking his tail in a light hearted challenge to race to their mother's side.

Vale absently swivels her ears in either direction, waiting patiently for the little ones to get moving. A little slow to start at their age, yes?
The albino mare counts her blessings for as long as THAT will last.
Not long, she thinks.

Veserus looks to his mother and walks her way. His walk was a bit awkward but he was still getting used to his legs after his stint in the basket. Upon reaching her side, he looks and taps his muzzle against her, a big smile on his face.
From the corner of Ves' eye, he catches sight of a small bit of movement. A butterfly flit about over the grasses. He watches it for a brief moment before prancing around his Vale and looks back to Cole. He bobs his head to encourage him to come along.
