I never really thought about it to be honest eek
7 years.. and there are still games coming out on it, now thats an investment! Seeing how the PS2 is still selling now, I can see how Sony puts the PS3 as a 10 year system, not a 5 years system like M-Soft.
Holy crap, my brother has a 7 year old PS2 eek and it works at 100% for games still, although it has issues with some DVD's 3nodding

i still have my original.. it was the first model. and about a 4 year old one that i got my sister and my friend has had my slim for a while now.. on that day i played and played! till i had to go to work...

my ps2 is only a little old like i have the slimline and it still plays perfect and it has never crashed on me ever (altho shen i have trouble with DVD's as well)

My ps2 is about 3 to 4 years old. I replaced it twice because of disk drive read erors. My newest one never had any problems and I can still play my old game on it.
