It was a slightly overcast day, the sort in which Ariadne felt somewhat comfortable in walking about. Lex had told her of something called a playground, where children of various ages gathered to play, or perhaps just to observe one another. She was particularly interested in something called a 'swing', which apparently could simulate the effects of flying. And the 'jungle gym'. She wanted to climb. Something deep inside of her wanted to crawl across a surface, perhaps hang upside down.
She went alone, as Lex had some paperwork and patients to see. She didn't really understand that, but it was all fine. Aria didn't mind being alone. And the playground was close to the house.
She had a little bag with her in which the porcelain mask she so loved was nestled safely away. Pulling her scarf lower over her eyes, she surveyed the playground and was pleased to see herself very much alone. That meant that she could explore around until she'd chosen her favourite places. And then observe others from it.
When she saw the swings, Ariadne decided to pass them up and headed almost immediately towards the strange dome constructed of bars. "The jungle gym." It looked like it would be odd, yet fun. If only it were dark so that she didn't have to wear the bulky clothing in which she hid.
The dark... climbing over walls in the dark, the sound of water near. The splash of strange fish. Cool dimness and the flash of other eyes reflecting the light off lichen glowing on the walls.
She shook her head, wondering at the dream-like memory, and hoisted herself up.
