We all have movies that we just can't get enough of... So lets hear your top ten favorites.

10 ) Zodiac: Wonderful acting, great direction, and great choice of music.
9 ) Fightclub: A movie that is somehow BETTER than the book.
8 ) Batman Begins: Somehow made Batman movies not suck.
7 ) Transformers: NERDGASIM!
6 ) V for Vendetta: Damn good movie all around.
5 ) Spider-man 2: Alfred Molina as Doc Ock makes for one of my favorite villains ever.
4 ) Serenity: Concludes the show Firefly in a great way.
3 ) Hot Fuzz: Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg can make movie steriotypes awesome.
2 ) Jurassic Park: Seeing this movie is one of my few childhood memories that I can remember, so of course it's close to my heart.
1 ) Shaun of the Dead: This movie made me ME.

Ah, Viking, your list was SO AWESOME until you threw Beerfest in there at #10. I mean seriously, Beerfest!? I've seen porn that had more endearing characters than that awful film (not really).
But hey, the rest of your list was just brilliant, so you obviously have great taste. We all have our "Guilty pleasure" movies, as you'll see from my own Top 10 list below...

#10: Hitch - one of the greatest romantic comedies of our time (just narrowly beating out Down With Love). I am a sucker for a good love story and I am endlessly entertained by Will Smith, both his acting and his music.

#9: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - this is where my Top 10 gets all of its artisitic flavor. I never knew that an "artsy" film could appeal to me so greatly. But I will always remember the names Ang Lee, Chow Yun Fat, Michelle Yeoh, and Zhang Ziyi because of this film.

#8: The Matrix - A perfect film. Gripping, thrilling, other buzzwords designed to make you want to see it. This movie is near the top of a short list of movies that, if you don't see them, you really ARE missing out.

#7: Star Wars: The Original Trilogy - I don't really need to explain this one, do I?

#6: Spiderman 1 & 2 - I still can't think of any superhero movies better than these two. I loved Spiderman 3, but the first two are kind of in a league of their own, not just with superhero movies, but with movies in general. What a beautiful, intricate story they weave...

#5: 10 Things I Hate About you - I can say without hesitation that this is the best teenage-love-story-based-on-Shakespeare-set-in-modern-times movie I have ever seen! Seriously, though, this movie creates some impressively touching moments and does an almost ingenious job capturing the intensity of high school life. It's tender, it's sweet, it's the whole package. Cut, print, check the gate.
...
Okay, I know you're still giving me that "Are you serious?" look, but this movie also has nostalgic value for me, so that bumps it way up the list.

#4. Monty Python and the Holy Grail - British comedy at its finest! It's a shame The Pythons' other movies didn't turn out nearly this good (seriously, don't even bother with "Life of Brian" or "Meaning of Life." They suck.) This film has more quotable one-liners and sequences than any other film in existence. Period.

#3. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children - a fanboy I may be, but I have friends who never played the game that loved this film. So that, at least, is some validation. But it is where it is on my list for a reason: I really, truly, honestly loved it that much.

#2. The Pirates of the Carribbean Trilogy - I'm not sure at exactly what point in my life I decided that Pirates of the Carribbean was one of the greatest movies ever made. I think it was around about the 6th or 7th time I watched it and I realized that I was STILL totally unable to look away from the tv as long as it was playing. Despite the naysayers who think they're "cool" for dissing them, the second and third movies more than lived up to the original. All three deserve this spot in my Top 10.

#1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - How many of you predicted that this would be at the top spot? mrgreen
In my opinion, movie-making will NEVER be better than this. All three of these movies are the stuff of silver-screen legend. Seeing them on the big screen reminded me (and the rest of the world) why I go to the movies at all.

I love how non-mainstream your tastes are, Serenata. Your so... "anti-establishment." Rock on.

Also, I wouldn't have had that top 10 list I posted if it weren't for Facebook and it's silly "Movies" app that I play around with when I'm bored.

Actually it's not really anti-establishment, just more that movies were far more creative with dialog and character portrayal in the past versus now. Reservoir Dogs is up there just because it's well written and is almost an anti-Tarantino film with mostly banter and dialog, and low levels of gore aside from the ear getting cut off.

I'll use the Matrix for example. This is just my personal thing. It's way to Ghost in the Shell. The entire first sequence with Trinity is so blatantly a Motoko-esque sequence it pulled me out of the movie right in the beginning.

Perhaps the Wachowski brothers are fans? It could have been an homage, which all directors are guilty of.

Am I allowed to say anything about Hitch and Beerfest? =P

I believe I explained that I am a sucker for romantic comedies, and... it just so happens that I am more of a sucker for that particular romantic comedy.
...
Shut up. mrgreen

But if either of you (Viking and Serenata) have actually sat down and watched the movie Hitch (from beginning to end) and not enjoyed it, then you have no soul.

I have never understood why people think that Citizen Kane is the best movie ever. I say that Star Wars episode 3 is more than 10 times better.

You have no taste.

At Arvis: Apparently I have no soul. I'll just go enjoy watching Citizen Kane.

While I don't think it's the best movie ever... I feel that it certainly is one of the more influential.
