Halloween Town was just that... pretty 'halloweenie'. Charlot was used to a different era, with different customs and all this orange and black, spiderwebs, skeletons, and the varied other grotesque or fascinating horror pageantry was a little much to take in at once. It almost seemed like one huge joke.
The tall man paused beneath a tree, peering up curiously at the fake (although real looking) bodies hanging from the trees. He thought to himself, 'What if this is all just a ruse and those really ARE dead bodies'... clever. He scratched idly at the stubble on his chin, lips pursed as he attempted to see up and confirm his theories.
All around him various town folk, visitors, and even some of the Circus crew were milling about stalls and festive game booths. It was kinda like a circus show for the circus... since everyone was dressed up, painted faces and fake blood covering every stitch of fabric and skin.
Charlot cast as sidelong glance toward a small child, wondering what was in the bag it carried so closely. Another moment and the secret was revealed, a pound (or more) of tiny wrapped confections, apples, and little cakes. Didn't they know what that would DO to a child? That one would probably explode... maybe his head would pop off.
He caught himself smiling like a maniac and grunted, turning back toward the tree.
"Tch..." Maybe there was a game he could play to entertain himself or win a chew toy for Sarava. She's like something to tear apart and keep herself busy. ;D

Dieter was absolutely in love with this place. Everything was so over the top (or at least in comparison to the kinds of environment he was so used to), and everyone was in such high spirits. So many different kinds of creatures, and people, and... women.
Oh, how the overwhelming amount of stimuli caused him much damage that evening. He couldn't count the number of trees and poles he walked into. He couldn't help it if he had a bit of a wandering eye. It was as if their bodies were calling to him. He wandered over to a somewhat familiar face. He was fairly sure he had seen him around the Cirque, and surely a young man like him would fully empathize with his situation.
"MEIN GOTT!" He yelled with full excitement, placing his hands on his head, his eyes wide as he watched the crowd go by him, and a devilish grin on his face. "Have you seen so many schön aussehen in one place before?! So many curvy, and pretty, and curvy, and curvy little girls around here, ya?"

Charlot felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. He froze where he was peering up at the swaying bodies to slowly slip his eyes sideways to take in the image of whatever it was barking at him in merriment. Well I'll be damned, a man. Hands in his pockets, he turned a little to regard Dieter with raised eyebrows and an easy smile.
"Mine wot?" He asked, unable to help the little chuckle at how infectious the other man's happiness was. Charlot attempted to keep up with his dialogue, blinking a little at the mix of English and German. "Oi dunno what a Shon is, but if they're all around should oi be watchin' meself?" He checked his feet, smirking a little when he heard the rest of Dieter's words.
Curvy, pretty, curvy, curvy... well that meant females. He gave a little nod, glancing around them. True, there were a lot of ladies around... all dressed up or.. under-dressed as it were. Nothing like a holiday of costumes to kill a few 'pesky' inhibitions.
"Yah, mate. Yah. Lot's a potential mistresses," He jabbed the other man with an elbow. "If y'know what oi mean."
He thrust out his hand. "Charlot. Y'with the town or th' circus? Oi 'aven't seen y'around any o' my chores if y'are."

"Mein Gott." He paused briefly. "Ah. Hm. German saying?" He shrugged. He really needed to learn how to control his slip of tongue. Or at least find someone fluent in German to help him get it out of his system.
"Ya, ya, ya! Many many many out there. Wouldn't mind taking a few back to the trailer, ya?" His laugh was almost too enthusiastic as he punched his acquaintance on the shoulder 'playfully'.
"Ah! I'm Dieter! With der circus, ya?" Dieter shook his hand, giving a squeeze of confidence. "Ah, I spend much of my time with mein wolffs. Have to train and stay good." he said nodding. "Charlot. Hm. Haven't met many mench with that name! Are you with circus too?"

He certainly was friendly and enthusiastic. Charlot liked people who were just as interested in talking and being happy than they were anything else. He released the hand once it was 'enough of a lingering grip' and tucked his paw back into his pocket.
"Gott, eh?" He suspected it mean the almighty. Might as well roll with that assumption. "Yeah, oi got it." Charlot grinned again, agreeing whole heartily with the 'women' banter. He hadn't had more than friendly gentleman talking with all the fine ladies around the circus and that was starting to wear him a wee bit thin around the edges.
"No kiddin'," He murmured, eyes flickering toward a saucy tart as it slunk past toward one of the booths.
Charlot rolled with the punch, wincing dramatically before righting himself once more from being half-pushed over.
"Mmmhm. Y'got wolves, eh? That's pretty damn incredible," That would explain why he hadn't seen him around if he was off on the other side of the camp with the animal trailers. "Yeah, oi've got a tiny show some nights... doin' whip tricks an' th' like. Y'workin' with your wolves?"

"Mein wolffs, we do tricks together, ya? We do special tricks, then I turn into wolf too! And do tricks with them. And I have pretty little golden haired assistant. She helps too!" And for a moment, Dieter's mind drifted off into imagining all the tricks he'd like to teach her. But quickly, he shook it off.
"You work with whips? What kind of tricks do you do? Work with lassos like cowboys from the west too?" Dieter said as he placed his hand over his head, swirling it around as if he were holding on.

Charlot listened intently to Dieter, chewing idly on the end of the cigarette that had found it's way into his mouth. He flicked a match between his fingertips, giving a nod here and there to acknowledge he was listening.
Turn into a wolf, eh? That was fascinating news. Maybe Dieter knew something about the moon lunacy... He tucked that question away for later. No use bringing someone he didn't rightly trust into his personal affairs just yet.
"Gold-aired assistant?" He ticked off the females he'd spoken to in the extent of his time at cirque and the blond that stood out the most was Scarlett... and she was dangerous. Charlot cocked an eyebrow, pausing to scratch the match across his pants and light it. After breathing life into the cigarette, he tossed the dead match aside with a sigh. "Y'talkin' bout Scah-let? Real tart, that one."
Maybe there was another blonde? n__n??
Back to the conversation, Charlot nodded once more. "Oi work with whips, yeah. Hnn... lots o'tricks. Oi c'n put candles out with th'whips, 'it targets, an stuff like that." He raised an eyebrow at the idea of using a lasso. "Oi don't rightly know what the 'ell a cowman be... but if they use ropes that's pretty damn impressive."
Charlot had no idea what Dieter was demonstrating. XD

"Ahhh, ya, Scarlett! She's very pretty. Maybe prettiest here? Or at least in circus? I don't usually like blonds, but she -" He gave out a loud whistle, clasping his hands together and nodding. "She's something."
"You can put out candles with whips? That is crazy! You must be very good then, ya?" Dieter couldn't put in his head exactly how these candles were put out with a whip, but he figured it must be something far more complicated than using the end of one to smother it out.
"I bet you would make good cowboy! Whips aren't too different than lassos. At least they can't be. Just big long rope you swing around. I bet you could be next John Wayne!"

"Yeah... she's somethin' alright." Charlot murmured with a tiny sneer. He had the feeling the French filly would claw your eyes out and eat them with a shot of whatever alcohol she was favoring if she had the chance. His eyebrow perked upwards, leaning a little towards Dieter.
"Y'fancy 'er, aye?" His smirk widened, curling at the edges quite a bit like a Cheshire's.
At his next rally of banter, Char listened in curiously. For the life of him he couldn't place what the hell a 'cowboy' was or a lasso. But of rope, eh?
"Y'll 'ave t'show me, mate. Oi don't recall ever seeing a John Wayne b'fore."

Dieter simply grinned at the question. He wasn't about to out right say anything, he knew better than that. Especially when it came to co-workers in an environment like this. He had a feeling word would fly fast, and he wasn't particularly fond of being caught in complicated 'romantic' situations.
"Perhaps I shouldn't say prettiest. I'm sure there's many pretty girls at cirque, ya?" He wasn't back tracking on his word too much to cause questioning. Or so he hoped.
"You don't know John Wayne!" How could that be possible? Even from in the small German town he grew up in, they caught wind of him. Of course it wasn't until after the war started and the Americans started flooding in. But they still knew of him, nonetheless. "We will have to fix that sometime then, won't we?"

Ah, maybe he'd been wrong. Wasn't to say Scarlett wasn't gorgeous... perhaps this guy WAS smart.. cautious was a plus habit one should give in to often. Charlot shook his head, folding his arms across his chest.
"Well, she's damn pretty.. oi can say that." He smirked, giving a tiny wink before his gaze traveled off to a few loud voices across the path. ""Nah, oi don't know John Wayne... 'e around 'ere?" He glanced around the festival area. "Is 'e a special person where you're from?"

Dieter simply nodded. He was going to have to start teaching himself to keep his over enthusiasm on a lower hum. Somehow.
"Ah, John Wayne is big big star back in U.S. He makes western movies, very very big Wester hero. If I find film, We can have big western party! ya?" Dieter's eyes watched the crowd go by, waiting to see if anyone would happen to be dressed up like a Cowboy that he could point out.
"Perhaps I can dress up like cowboy for these festivals!" His eyes lit up with complete excitement. "I have to think of something to go as anyway!"

Charlot laughed, giving a nod. He liked Dieter, he was alright. Anyone who could roll with the punches and come out grinning from ear to ear.. well that was a pretty good guy. Not someone to rob a bank with, but definitely the bloke to blame it on. ;]
"Ah, the colonies-" Charlot murmured, giving a tiny shake of his head. THAT made all the sense in the world. They were coming up with all kinds of odd things all the time. "Oi understand now." He smiled, still curious about what a cowboy was... intrigued really. "Sounds good mate, Oi look forward to it." He gave Dieter a pat on the arm good natured-like.
"Where's y'costume?"

"Colonies?" Dieter raised an eyebrow. The only time he had ever heard the U.S. be referred to as 'the colonies' was way back when he was younger, and they briefly covered the U.S. He didn't think the British still referred to them that way, especially with how much they had been helping them. Or maybe he was wrong?
"I need to think of costume. With so many people in costumes, I feel very bad for not being in one, ya?" He chuckled, giving Charlot a friendly slap on the back. "Maybe I can find a good shop around here. They must have one! Everyone is dressed up, they must get them from somewhere! HA!"

"Heh... you could do that," Charlot replied, stepping back to point back toward the circus. "There's a trailer back in th' camp that has a lot of th' costumes in it from somewhere... we're allowed t'get into it and use stuff. Y'should check it out, give 'er a look and see if you find somethin' y'like."
That's where HE planned to look, later on in the evening. Right now, he was just wandering around seeing what the Festival was and had to offer. He'd seen a few of the circus members already decked out and strutting about. He'd left Ankita when she was still half-way through getting dressed. Apparently her costume was flowery or something?
