So, it had been determined they’d stay a while- although for how long Amedia had not yet cared to divulge to Phib. There would things to do- both here and elsewhere. She’d have to make sure Arcadia was settled in wherever she would be staying. It was likely that her young friend would want to be near- but honestly, Amedia doubted there was much more she could teach her. The hare community needed her far more then she did- although it was sad to not speak with her friend as often as she did. She supposed they’d all gone their own separate ways.
The white lioness shook her head and smiled, looking off into the distance. It was getting near sunset, and the red land was burning like fire. “I hope they visit sometime. This is a good place. We shouldn’t mess it up. Ona and his mate- they're good people. Life is coming back here.”
Phib, who lay somewhat dutifully beside her and quietly removed red earth from his paws, looked up with a grin. “When have I ever messed up living arrangements for us?”
She leaned against him and sighed. “Only the last five times.” Even he had to chuckle. “My father would be proud. But if I remember right, the last time was your fault.”
She shook her head quietly- but her expression changed somewhat with the mention of his father. Sometimes it felt like everything she tried to do was to undo whatever it was that man had put into his son. "Didn't trust them." She frowned. "Not a good place to stay. Ohanna was right to leave. I wish she'd stayed with us..."
Phib sucked in a breath and sighed, shifting his shoulders. The old lion's leg hurt, despite his companion's subconscious attempts at alleviate it. Like a drug- it seemed to be the more she tried to help the less it worked. There just wasn't a cure for getting old. "Too young to be hanging around me." He dismissed; and then with a grunt: "You and her both."
She ignored it- twisting and sitting back up. "How is your leg?"
His eyes were closed, but he humored her with the sweep of his ear. "Hurts a bit." He admitted.
She frowned and furrowed her brow. "I'll need to get more herbs...thankfully, it is one thing this earth is gifted with."

 Tsi'hilu was alone.
This, was a rare feat, all on it's own, at least of late; if Taika wasn't prancing around her, her mate would be looming beside her, glaring away anyone to so much as look her the wrong way. If neither of the aforementioned were around, the lioness was usually found with Wally, her twin, both of them chuckling or gossiping about something or other and yet... today, she was alone.
It was a rather nice, she must admit; it was giving the future head of the Wolf clan some time to think. Think and remember, think and remember; that's what Tawa'di had told her to do. And so, that was what the petite cloud marked lioness was doing; padding without a destination, skirting around the location she and her mediated had camp out around. The setting sun was a good scenery and inspiration for her thoughts, and the more the lioness thought, the more she recalled; snippets of conversations from her parents long ago, and small tidbits of information that she was sure would come in handy.
She was forcefully brought out of her thoughts by the sound of voices, and slowly, the lioness forced her green hued gaze to concentrate on her surroundings, rather than within. In the distance, she could just barely make out the form of two lions, cuddled up together, Mates probably, her mind provided, and the lioness found herself smiling. She'd never come across the pair, but most of the Ela'wadiyi clans roamed the lands endlessly. It would not be surprising if they were, in fact, part of the pride.
Nearing them, she stopped at a prudent distance, her frame small, even for that of an Ela'wadiyi lioness, "Greetings," she offered the pair with a smile, "I've never seen you around... whom might I address?" she paused and reconsidered her words, thinking it was awfully rude of her to not offer her name whilst asking them for theirs. Thus so, she rectified, "I am Tsi'hilu Waya," if they were Ela members, they'd at least recognise enough from the name to know which clan she belonged to; if they did know, Tsi'hilu herself would know them to be members, and not just rogues.

The pale white creature’s ears perked as the sound of another voice entered the small bubble of their existence. With it came a slight thrum of feeling that often hit her upon first meeting mortals- life, vitality. Full of health- it was a good sign, and it was a welcomed change from the slight pain she was sensing from her love. Normally he’d do introductions, but as of late he’d been somewhat reclined to letting her handle the inhabitants of this red land. Affectionately she let her body slide against him as she turned to face the other female. She left him with a slight clink of her head adornments, and approached the female. “Avei vulla-“ She smiled, bowing her head. Although Phib might have been put off originally of the innate suspicions of the Ela- they’d both come to be pretty comfortable with explaining their name and purpose in the lands. To the small lioness, it was executed with hardly a hesitation, and a kind of adoring smile. “I’m Ameh; my mate, Phib.” She added, looking again in the direction of the male. “It isn’t too surprising- we’re a bit of travelers. We’ve been staying in these lands under the shadow clan to look at some of the herbs here.” She smiled. “I’m a healer.”
“It’s good to meet you, Tsi’hilu.” Amedia bowed once more- before furrowing her brow in consideration. She glanced towards Phib as if she tried to remember something, and he gave her a vacant ‘I have no idea what you want’ look.
Then it came to her. “Waya… The same clan as Mwovu.” She smiled, brimming at the realization. She was glad to hear that. Last she had spoken to the young male, he had seemed troubled. She frowned somewhat, considering it softly. She hoped he'd find his way...

To say Tsi'hilu was stumped was an understatement; her brows shot up to hide within her long bangs that adorned her forehead, her head tilting to one side in confussion, "Mwovu?" she asked softly, sounding more than slightly concerned, "I don't know of any such lion," her brows knitted together in concideration as she pondered, "The Wolf Clan was formed only by my parents, my brother and myself... they did not survive the plague; I am the sole survivor of my clan," of course, the poor lioness had no way of knowing that her father, had, in fact, survived the desease, and had merely lost his way back home. Likewise, Tsi'hilu had no way of knowing that Mwovu himself was her cousin, whom she had merely been much too young at the time to remember.
Regardless, she was fated to meet both males in short time, even if she did not know, "I spoke to the Nwati recently when I was apointed Alu'ladi for the Waya clan and he never mentioned any other Wolf Clan members..." looking somewhat troubled, the female sat down on her hind haunches, lifting a paw to tap her maw in thought before she came to a swift decision; as soon as she was done talking to this pair of lions, she'd seek Tawa'di out and ask the elder about this. Maybe he had simply forgotten to mention this Mwovu? If there was anyone that would know about a lost clan member, it was without a doubt, the eldest of the Ela'wadiyi pride, "I'll speak to Tawa'di about this later," she'd voiced her thought outloud, making mental note to tell her own mate about it too, just in case.
Once the 'problem' had been resolved, she focussed her attention on the other information the lioness had given her, taking a moment to peek over her shoulder, shifting her weight to one side to get a good look at Phib. Ah, so she had, indeed, been right about them being mates; somehow, the male reminded her slightly of her own mate, "Greetings," she voiced politely before she once more faced the lioness, "It is good to meet you to; I hope you are both in good health and are enjoying your stay," a pause as she smiled, "Does that mean you have been accepted into the shadow clan?" her tail gave a small, almost happy thump; the idea of new blood for the pride was exciting, and always welcome. Specialy if said new blood was as charmingly polite as the female she was currently talking to, "If you had no interest in joining, please disregard my previous words; It's just that it'd surely do the pride good. After the plague swept by, our numbers were greatly narrowed down... we're making good ground now, though," she smiled and nodded, ears instantly perking somewhat, "A healer?"
Now this was interesting; that much was obvious by the way the small female perked up instantly, an almost childish curiosity ringing in her eyes, "I can't quite remember many of the ways of the Wolf Clan; my parents passed on before they could teach me most of the customs of our clan. As alu'ladi, I am greatly interested though..." a pause as she tilted her head, looking much like a child while doing so, for there was a youthness to the petite female's features that would probably never be lost, not even in old age, "What is it you heal?"

This troubled Amedia greatly, and she sat in perplextion. Had she been mistaken? She often could be on these things…but she liked the word ‘waya’. She would remember that word. And Mwovu had seemed so forlorn… “Perhaps I’m mistaken. Phib remembers names better then I do. Sometimes I get addle-minded. But… I believe that is what he introduced himself as.” She pursed her lips, replaying the memory. But within so many memories of her expansive life, small details could be skewed. “He was very forlorn and sad over past things. I think he was planning some course of action, but I do not know what it was. He was a young male though- “ She waved a paw over head. “Not too full in the head yet, and black.”
With the mention of the plague, Amedia frowned somewhat painfully, and nodded her head solemnly. She felt the pains of this land, if only they knew. There were times when even she couldn’t push back fate and other dark forces, and they occasionally had their ways with the land. But this pride… she was touched by it, as much as she had been the first time she’d stepped foot here. Plague, marauders- they were still only barely starting to recover. And she was determined to help where she had failed to in the past.
“Guests, at the moment.” She smiled softly. “Although I believe Ona has extended an invitation to us. I would very much like to see these lands grow- but we’ll need to speak with the elder before such permission is allowed. I believe the shadow clan is planning a gathering of sorts.”
But the subject of healing brought back perhaps the same childish smile the other female reflected. “Oh, everything!” She remarked eagerly, before considering herself and make some amends. “Well- there’s nothing you can’t cure with the earth. Some things are rare- and some herbs work for only one person in all the world. But they’re there. Particularly here. I’ve spent my entire life,” All the many lifetimes of it- “- finding natural cures and keeping record of the things that work and don’t work. There are plants here that I haven’t seen in years.” Maybe even decades?
She put her paws together in eager thought, before turning around and running back towards Phib- who’d been watching and feigning disinterest. She clamored over the giant, who made a slight noise of protest, before the female returned with a small root in her mouth. It had been the one that she’d found when she’d found Mwovu.
“This one here can cure blindness if given very young, and to the right person. But too much and it’s deadly. You have to be careful of how the properties balance.” She chimed, before realizing she was perhaps being too eager. She waved her paw and flushed somewhat, her head dipping. “But, I don’t mean to bore you. The thought of helping people- it's what I live for.”

Something at the back of Tsi'hilu's mind told her that this female was probably not mistaken about this 'Mwovu', whomever he was; call it instinct, or perhaps some sort of feeling that prickled along the back of her neck. For whatever the reason, the small Alu'ladi narrowed her eyes, making it evident she was pondering the situation, even now. When addressed, she offered Amedia a small smile, almost sheepish, a paw waving, as if dismissing the situation, "Oh, no. Don't rouble yourself; there's bound to be a perfectly reasonable explanation. I'll go talk to Tawa later... he can See. He'll know."
This said, she pushed the thought to the back of her mind in favour of paying full attention to what Amedia was explaining about healing; tell truth, Tsi'hilu wasn't all that bitter about the plague. Not as bitter as most, even despite having lost her loved ones to it. As far as the petite lioness was concerned, there had been method in the chaos that had consumed them all... there had been a reason for the disease. There had been such a large population of lions that they had been sucking the prey dry - the disease, as devastating as it had been, had been the Gods' will. It been used to wipe the lands clean to give the new generations a new start.
It was sad, but it was life, and the small lion had figured there was no good in falling into bitterness. She'd been alone so long... the disease had, in fact, helped her survive; it'd cleaned the area of rogues and potential danger for her whilst she'd grown. She would've never survived otherwise, "I do hope you stay, then," she told the other female, honesty ringing in her voice. A pause followed, the arching of Tsi'hilu's brow, accompanied by the small smile that tugged at her maw indicating mild mirth, "Everything?" listening to her explanation, she moved elegantly towards the male too, but unlike Amedia kept a distance of respect, her head tilting to one side.
Her brows instantly shot up to hide into that tuff of hair that cascaded over her forehead, "Really?" a curious gleam lighted her eyes as she padded just a tad forward, sniffing at the root slightly, pondering once more, even as she acted out of instinct. Inching even closer, she eyed the root with interest, tilting her head this way and that; never once did she think to question what this lioness was saying about it. For some odd reason, Tsi'hilu believed her words. There was no doubt in her mind that... Amedia was right. For whatever reason; there was something about the other pale lioness... something, that Tsi couldn't quite put her finger on. That something told the young Alu'ladi tht this lioness was not lieing.
Realising the way she'd retreated slightly, Tsi'hilu smiled, "Oh, please, do go on... I find this to be fascinating; I'd love to learn more," she looked away, only somewhat sheepishly, "Tell truth, The Wolf clan used to have it's own methods of healing but... my mother, the previous leader, died before she could pass on the knowledge to me. Much of the knowledge that should be mine, to pass to my children in time, has been lost," turning her green gaze back to the goddess-in-hiding, she rubbed the back of her head, "Knowledge has never hurt anybody; I'd love to learn some from you. I find you too, to be oddly fascinating yourself."

“Shouldn’t encourage her,” Came the gruff, but slightly amused voice of the resting male. “It will be all she’ll go on about if you let her.” He thrummed, rolling a red eye in the females’ direction.
Ameh scrunched her face and gave a kind of sidelong smile. “So he says, but when it’s his leg hurting? Amy save me!” She chimed, deepening her voice in a mock attempt to match the male’s rather distinctive sand-papery tone. “I don’t recall that conversation.” He mumbled.
“Your face says it.” She retorted, before dismissing him altogether with a brush of her paw. “People like Phib care more about using their claws then keeping themselves well. Can be hard to fix up people like that.” She explained with a mixture of teasing.
He grunted as his only response, and Amedia returned to focusing on Tsi’hilu. She was saddened by what the female mentioned about her mother- although she supposed she suspected it half heartedly. These lands were deeply hurt by time and strife. She couldn’t help but feel some guilt over some of it. Even if plagues and disease and famine were all natural parts of life- she sometimes wished it wasn’t. And occasionally- wondered if they were all just games the gods played against the mortals.
“I’m sorry… for all these lands have gone through.” She solemnly admitted. Ameh paused a few moments, studying the root before her. “But- if you truly are interested, I would be glad to tell you all I know about the plants that grow here- and even elsewhere. I’m afraid I’m really not all that fascinating,” She chuckled, a bit self-consciously flushing. “But I can promise if I know anything, it’s healing. Maybe not much else, but-“ She laughed.

A small smile as offered to the couple as they exchanged a few words, the expresion extending till the small female chuckled ever so softly, mirth evident in her voice, "He reminds me of Nyota," idly, she wondered if all males acted the same way, or if this one and Nyota were just, in fact, special cases, "Something tells me they'd get along just fine; they both seem to have a similar mind to thing."
Of course, Nyota, unlike Phib, was not nearly as old; nor was he pained in his legs, or anywhere else, for that matter. Regardless, Tsi'hilu found the information about herbs to be rather interesting, to say the least; it was better to be safe than sorry. At least where she was concerned, and taking into acount the fact she would be leading the Wolf Clan members out of Sky Clan territory soon enough in order to roam the Ela lands like the clans had all used to... well, the knowledge was both welcome and appreciated. It was imposible to tell what hardships they might find on the journey, and any help that could be offered tackling them down was greatly needed; Tsi'hilu was young, and rather inexperienced at leadership, but she had a good idea of where to start. Learning some healing techniques seemed like a good idea to her.
"Don't worry," she smiled at the healer, her lids drooping to hide her green eyes partialy, her features soft, "The lands may have suffered... but we're fine; we'll pull through," looking away, she eyed the distant place where she knew the Sky Clan had settled down; she and her mate had camped nearby, "We're tough; the plague didn't get us. We'll pull it through. It's better to be happy about being alive, then bitter over a past we can not change," turning her gaze heavenward, the lioness idly wondered, for the first time in a long time, where her parents were. Had they gone to live with the gods? She was somehow sure of it, and with that thought in mind, she smiled at Amedia once more, closing her eyes only briefly for effect, "I am," she answered swiftly, "I'm very interested," came the chuckle as she rectified her over-eager reply, "After all, anything I can do to help my Clan would be wonderful; healing seems like a good start. I rather be safe than sorry and since many of the older traditions have been... almost lost in translation when my mother passed away, some new ones are in order."
This seemed like the best course of action and the lioness nodded, almost as if to herself, watching the males over Amedia's shoulder, "I think you're both fascinating; but then again... I was alone most of my childhood. I was forgotten, left behind on accident right before the great migration from these lands, so I was never much in contact with others," somehow, the female managed to blush lightly under her white coat, her eyes dodging both forms as she coughed lightly into a paw, "So others are usualy... naturaly fascinating to me," finaly turning towards Amedia, she nodded again, "But please, do feel free to teach me anything you wish. I may be small, but a fast learner."

Amedia’s face lit up with an affectionate smile, and she eagerly bobbed her head. He was a gruff sort, her love- but she knew under all that was a great goodness that was so wrapped up in pride and bitterness that it had a hard time letting itself loose. It had always been her hope to help free that- but as it were, Amedia had found sometimes her help provided no help at all. But such were the ways of gods fiddling with mortals, and for this, she was sorry. She was glad to hear the similar sentiment of Tsi’hilu. It seemed to thrive through the younger generations, and it boded well she thought. While her abilities stretched only to what was tangible- she hoped that a different kind of healing would find itself upon these once great lands. And she hoped to stay a while and be sure of it.
The old male chuckled, his ears docking as he looked away, feigning disinterest. To him- Amedia was a strange creature he couldn’t quite place. He was aware of her strangeness, but stubbornness disallowed him from searching for the reason of it. He’d picked her up like a burr on his traveling. In his days he’d seen many tragedies, and they’d hardened him on empathy. He trusted Amedia’s judgment, although hers was about as freely given as was breathing. But if she enjoyed these fellows, he’d make his best not to be overtly irritable. “Hehe,” Amy continued. “I am sure you will meet many others then. There’s a whole world full of strange characters.” She ushered, picking up the root she had grabbed before, and rolling it into her other paw. “Healing though- it is not hard to learn. The tricky thing is remembering it when time depends on it; and accepting the losses with the wins.”

"That," she said with a small smile, "I can do," lifting a paw, she tapped the side of her head with her padded finger; a strange movement, but it seemed ideal to the lioness at the time, "Tasks that involve bodily weight, great strength and bulk are out of my reach... my body is small, even for an Ela'wadiyi, however," and here and here she lowered her paw, a small, almost coy wink passing through her features, "If it's related to the mind, I can handle it. Memorising is not out of my reach; I've got the brains... just... not the strength," of course, she left out that this was mostly due to the fact she'd been alone almost since cubhood; her lack of bulk was a direct retribution from those days she'd had to fend for herself.
She'd had to grow up fast, sly and smart to survive on her own.
It didn't sadden her in the least, but then again... Tsi'hilu was a strange creature; she firmly believed the gods had made things as they did for a reason. Always for a reason, for when a door closed, a window opened... or something like that; she'd grown up to believe that thought firmly, for had she not, she'd have probably grown insane out of solitude, "If you will teach me, I would be glad to learn," her eyes swept across to the male that lay in the background, a soft expression coming over her features, for he reminded her of Nyota, her mate, in more ways than one. There was no need to change this male, or her mate either; they were how and what they were, and thus changing them would be like erasing the creatures they'd fallen in love with.
Everyone had their faults, just like everyone had their good points. It was a matter of knowing where to look for them, "I've already met my fair share," she chuckled lightly, "Nyota, my mate, his daughter, a seer that believes the wind talks to her," a pause as she pondered this, "And it might just indeed talk to her, really, whom am I to say otherwise?" nodding she continued, "Taika, a waterbuck whom seems to be the luckiest creature on earth... and you," there was something about Amy she couldn't quite put her finger on, but whatever it was, it made her feel good, almost safe, "Both of you."

Amy smiled, and bowed her head. “Although present company may not agree- I think strength is a very overestimated asset. Some of the greatest people have never flung a punch or moved mountains.” She added, perhaps too knowingly for her age. “I think you’ll have no problem at all. I can tell- I’m very good at judging these things.” The white lioness winked. “Not everything though-but, Phib can handle the rest of that.”
He grunted lightly, but there was a smile across the old man’s face. “That’s a full time job.”
“Have to keep old men busy.” She quirked back with a smile, before Tsi’hilu continued on. Her mate and his daughter sounded like very interesting people- she was glad that staying on in these lands might mean she would meet people such as that. She adored mortals far more then her own kind- and she always found it disappointing that it took gods centuries to develop personalities, and mortals, barely hours if needed.
“I would love to meet them sometime.” Amedia nodded eagerly. “We’ve spent a long time traveling, Phib and I- and I’ve always loved meeting people. I think everyone has a good something to teach you.”
The white lioness stood up, looking over at the large green lion and giving a kind of lopsided smile before looking back at the other lioness. "But here- let's go for a walk. There are some very easy things I can show you that won't take long at all."

Oh, she knew how Amy felt; in fact, the petite ela could do nothing to hide the fond smile that came over her features as she watched couple, chuckling lightly at the 'banter' of sorts that they seemed to share, "Been there, done that; and I agree," she told the other female; there was a twinkle in her eye that seemed to voice the unheard word.
Men.
Really. Was there any other way to describe them? Then again, she thought idly as she lifted her rump delicately from the floor, didn't males, too, think females were as impossible to understand as females thought males were? That was a conundrum indeed; a thought to ponder over some other day however, for right now, the idea of learning something new was tugging at her attention quite insistently. The fact Amy seemed to be talking from experience when she mentioned the 'greater people' had not been missed, however, Tsi'hilu felt no need to comment on it; after all, she was polite enough to stray away from the subject.
Later on she'd wonder, no doubt, and as she'd spend more time with the other lioness, it was possible she'd see things, however, she'd never comment. After all, wasn't everyone allowed to have their own secrets, if not for their sake... for the loved ones' sake? It was not her place to question, and would never be, "I'd love to," she said as she turned to follow after the older female, "I don't have too much time; if I take too long to come back, Nyota is bound to pull off a storm, thinking someone has kidnapped me, or worse. Someone has 'dared lay a finger on me'; he's quite capable of going to the elder and organise a rescue party if he feels I've been gone too long, no doubt, but we've got a while before he starts to feel anxious," she chuckled lightly, her words fond as they came, indicating the love she felt for the male, as well as the fond exasperation. Again the unheard word rung behind her explanation.
Men.

The strange female’s face lit up somewhat knowingly, and she bowed her head. “Hee, I am far too eager sometimes,” She acknowledged- a trait somewhat unusual for a goddess. It wasn’t as though she planned to be going anywhere for the next few lifetimes. “You should see your Nyota then and not worry him. I don’t think there’s anything worse then worry.” Heaven knows, she did a lot of it. Mortals were too fragile, so much so that it terrified her.
She pulled a delicate white paw to her chest in a kind of dismissive gesture, and looked towards her own hulk of a male. He was continuing to pretend to be disinterested- although it was likely that the two saw past that. “We’ll be here for some while as I investigate plants here. No need to worry anyone.” Amedia smiled.
She moved towards the brute and knocked lazily into him, leaning some of her weight against his tangled mane and head. He had a sour look, but dropped it after it became apparent no one was bothering to look at him anyways.

The lioness smiled and nodded briefly, "Well... Nyota worries more than he should, truly, but I wouldn't have it any other way," her eyes trailed over to the male as Amedia bumped into him; she could truly see bits and pieces of Nyota in the gruff looking male, "You're right though; I best get going. However, do take into account that I fully intend on taking you up on your invitation to teach me. My clan could do with some healing knowledge."
After all, all knowledge was good to have. Those that knew... those that held the knowledge, held the power.
That in mind, the lioness offered the couple another smile, "Farewell," then she turned around and padded off back towards her clan.
