Videos in question.

So, a competition to best explain string theory, in a <= 2 minute video.
Compared to the infamous and hitherto unlinked "thetenthidimension" video, and using the unmentionable website as a basis for comparison (rating it a definitive "0"), how does this "String Ducky" video stack up, in terms of using it to explain string theory to a relative newcomer to physics (say, moi)? For an upper bound, use "10". What objections can you raise, if any?

And just to use this topic for something else, is there any set of proven experiments (assume required technology exists) that would give support for string theory? What's your general opinion on string theory, keeping expletives to a maximum of 3 per sentence?

Well, it didn't seem terrible. It described string theory as string theory, rather than as pseudo-mathematical fuxnuggets.
Once they started talking about the higher dimensions, the visuals sort of stopped corresponding to anything, but that's all right, I guess.
I guess for what it is I'd given it a 7 or so; it doesn't have the time to go into any details, and explains the bare basics without really putting any judgment into it.

It was okay. It tells you nothing, though, and really does not motivate properly the "need" to even consider strings. Given the time constraints they do well.

This is the same stuff that you see in penny knowledge shows that please those who can't learn for themselves so they watch a tv in order to learn. Like people before me it's still not even touching the subject. It's rushed and does not explain much, the math is the only way to explain it.

Given the preset time-restraint, I think it did its job. Its appealing to the non-physicist, and communicates in an easy and understandable way. A way that even the couch potato can understand. Of course, it could go into more... but i think it goes into enough to raise the curiosity of those without a scientific mind. I give it an 8.

As far as experiments that give support, you might consider looking at Thomas Young's "Double Slit" experiment. I found a really cheesy video recreation of the experiment as well.
xd

As far as my personal opinion on string theory... I believe it brings forth some much needed questions in the world of quantum mechanics, and its connection with general relativity.

You do realize that the double slit experiment doesn't actually give confirmation to string theory, but rather to plain quantum mechanics? The entire setup and reasoning can be explained using basic non-relativistic quantum mechanics, as demonstrated in just about every introductory course on quantum mechanics ever taught anywhere.

It's pretty decent for the time it has. It doesn't go into detail, but could you explain all of string theory in two minutes? An... 8/10, I think.
