It's Holey because Sniper shot Holes in it. biggrin getit?
anyway... back on subject...

This is the one thread to rule them all, so to speak. Every rule the game, guild, and thread have ever had have all been compiled into this one almighty tome. If you break a rule in here, you receive the punishment listed. Of course, there is always a little room for maneuverability for special circumstances so worry not of thine divine banhammer slamming down on you for unjust reason.

3nodding

Behave and we won't have any problems, mmk? biggrin

1. HAVE FUN!
2. Follow GAIA’s TOS, Rules & Guidelines, and the GGN Rules.
............Violation: Banned without warning.
3. No Harassment, Flaming, or making comments you KNOW will hurt/insult someone. This includes being rude and/or nasty towards another member. PM’s included. Insults and the like are fine as long as they’re in jest, pertain to the game, and NO ONE is hurt by it. Harassment that takes place solely in pm's cannot be dealt with by crew; this needs to be taken up with a Gaian Moderator. The crew's formal position is to moderate the guild only.
............Violation: Handled on a case-by-case-basis. We CAN and WILL contact GAIA moderators if the situation ............calls for it.
4. Anyone can post in the guild, speculate, and hang out, but only participants of the current game who are not dead or jailed may vote in the day’s voting thread. Once you have been killed, jailed, or otherwise incapacitated in the game, you CANNOT vote. You may continue to post, speculate and point fingers, but nothing else.
............Violation: an informal warning will be issued for first offence. Repeated attempts for voting while not ............active in the current game will get you a full warning.
5. The Game Master will not wait for everyone to vote. At the voting deadline, he/she will lock the thread and move on to the next round. Anyone who does not have their vote or has voted with an incorrect number will receive an inactivity. Those with roles who have not sent in their information will have kills and saves randomly generated for them.

6. You may NOT have more than one account participating in a single game.
............Violation: Removal of BOTH accounts from the current game, a guild warning, and a ban from playing in ............the next game.
7. If you feel you are incapable of making a decent decision on who to vote for, do not have time to vote, etc. you may use a PASS. HOWEVER, you may not PASS more than THREE times in a single game. The point of the game is to FORCE you to vote. If you exceed your three passes, they will count as inactivities towards your name and you may be removed from the game for INACTIVITY. Voting for yourself is the same as using a pass. This is subject to change ONLY if the current GM has made it clear to the entire guild.

8. You may NOT post screenshots of your placement PM’s, be they edited or real. You MAY post real/edited screenshots of OTHER PM’s, as long as the GM and GameMaster mule account are not involved. The PM MAY NOT look like the GM or GameMaster mule account had any part in it at ALL. The GM and GameMaster mule account’s names and anything that they may or may not have said are also OFF LIMITS. Users are also not allowed to access the GameMaster mule account for any reason whatsoever unless they are currently hosting a game and using it in said game.
............Violation: Warning and possible removal from the current game.
9. If you miss three rounds in a ROW or five rounds TOTAL, you will be removed from the game for inactivity. You may still post and speculate, but you may NOT vote, be killed, or be jailed. This is subject to change ONLY if the current GM has made it clear to the entire guild.

10. The GM will not get involved in the game except to post their own little comments. These comments must be neutral and may NOT give away anything about what’s actually going on in the game. This means NO giving away ANY information about who has what role to ANYONE.
............Violation: warning, and banning from hosting future games for twice the regular waiting period.

11. By default, there will NEVER be secret clues hidden within the updates. The current GM MAY however, state that they wish to integrate the clues into the updates if he/she wishes as long as they inform the guild of this before the game begins.

12. You may NOT look at inboxes, outboxes, sent boxes, or save boxes of any player during the game. You should NEVER tell anyone else your password, there’s simply no reason for it. A secret password is a happy password.
............Violation: If we find out that you have been peeking, you will be removed from the current game, ............BANNED from playing the next game, and warned.
13. All clues given to the GM for the NR must have something to do with your GAIA self. They can be about your avatar, profile, journal, guilds, whatever, as long as they have been stated somewhere on GAIA. Nothing about your life in reality unless you’ve posted something about it on the GAIA forums.

14. Clues may be as cryptic or as simple as you like, but they must eliminate at least one other person who is playing the game. Nothing like “I have an Avatar.” Because that applies to everyone, “I am not a mod” would be a better choice, as it eliminates everyone who is from suspicion, while leaving a large amount of other people who also aren’t mods for everyone to debate over.

15. You may NOT let others log on to your account in your absence and vote in your stead. If you will be away for an extended period of time during the game, speak to the GM and ask them whether they will be willing to allow you to stay active in the game.
............Violation: Any person found voting for others will be removed from the current game, along with the ............person/people they’re voting for.

16. ANY conflicts involving things OUTSIDE of the game must be dealt with OUTSIDE OF THE GAME! If you have a problem with someone, leave the drama out of the guild!
............Violation: Dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Possible warnings, or temporary bans will be issued until ............you can learn to keep outside things outside where they belong.
17. Any decision made by the GM pertaining to the game is FINAL!

18. Mules may not interfere with game play in any way, shape, or form! They may speculate and they may contribute to discussion, but they may NEVER get directly involved! A Mule may NEVER be allowed to relay clues, or ANY information about the game that is not already publicly known.
............Violation: Handled on a case-by-case basis depending on severity. The longer it takes to find out who is
............behind an interfering mule, the harsher the punishment will be. You CAN and WILL be punished for ............suspected connection with an interfering mule MONTHS, even YEARS after the incident has occurred!
19. Mules and regular users MAY NOT cause any unnecessary drama in the guild.
............Violation: Guild ban for both mule and main account when the main is found out. If the main is not found ............out for months or years after the incident, they are still accountable, and will still be punished for their ............actions!
20. Outside organizations and manipulations may occur, but they must be kept within the guild! Get creative, start secret codes, white text, hide messages in your posts, etc.

21. Fabrication of evidence in order to get another user in trouble will NOT be tolerated. If we suspect you're handing us false evidence, you WILL be dealt with accordingly.
............Violation: Handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the type of offense the fabricator is accusing
............another of, and the type of punishment they expected the other to receive.
22. Posting in the voting thread is strictly prohibited unless you are voting! You MAY have additional comments in your post aside from the vote, but unless your post contains a vote, it WILL be deleted.
............Violation: Your post will be deleted. Repeated offenses may see warnings (informal or not) depending ............on the number of times you ignore this rule.
23. These rules may change at ANY given time. It is YOUR responsibility to check this thread for changes. The crew will do it's best to inform everyone of changes, but ignorance of the rules is never a valid excuse.

............Violation: Handled on a case-by-case basis. We CAN and WILL contact GAIA moderators if the situation ............calls for it.
3. Anyone running guild-wide events such as contests, parties, etc. with their main account may NOT have any member of the guild on their ignore list. If you do not wish to remove anyone from said list, please run your event from a mule account to allow every member of the guild to participate.
............Violation: Once reported by the ignored user, we will ask you to remove them from your list. Failure to ............comply will result in a warning and a second request. Further disobedience will be handled on a ............case-by-case basis.
4. No Page Stretching.
............Violation: Post/Topic edited. Informal warning issued.
5. No Suicidal Encouragement. Even in jest!

............Violation: Topic will not be deleted or locked otherwise.
7. Mules and regular users MAY NOT cause any unnecessary drama in the guild.
............Violation: Guild ban for both mule and main account when the main is found out. If the main is not found ............out for months or years after the incident, they are still accountable, and will still be punished for their ............actions!
8. After three warnings, you WILL receive a temporary or permanent ban unless special circumstances apply, so behave! Only right before a guild banning will we look at how severe your indiscretions are, and whether or not your punishment should be adjusted accordingly.

9. Anyone wishing to add their mules to the guild memberlist MUST contact a Mod, VC, or the Captain from their main account prior to sending in the guild application and inform them that the account in question is a mule belonging to them. Any obvious mule accounts attempting to join the guild will be denied membership unless their main accounts make themselves known to the Crew. Main accounts WILL be held responsible for ANY indiscretions caused by their mules, and will receive the SAME punishment as the mule account in question.

10. These rules may change at ANY given time. It is YOUR responsibility to check this thread for changes. The crew will do it's best to inform everyone of changes, but ignorance of the rules is NEVER a valid excuse.

1. Punishment/Action must be given for any listed rules. No lenience for friends, no harsher consequences for enemies. Harsher punishments may be issued if first approved by the Captain or Co-Captain of the guild.
............Violation: Crew Warning.
2. If you receive a PM or are asked a question, you must do SOMETHING. No ignoring or deleting the PM. If you don’t feel like answering the question or remedying the problem for whatever reason, forward it to someone who will.
............Violation: Crew Warning.
3. Edited posts must contain the “Edited By:” line: [Edited by (NAME) for (REASON)]. You may customize the colors if you wish, but it must be added at the bottom of any post you edit.
............Violation: Crew Warning.
4. The REASON for locking/moving a thread must be stated IN THE THREAD. Whether it be the “Edited by:” line in the first post, or a post in the thread stating your actions. When moving a thread, you must also state where the thread was moved FROM. A simple [forum posted in] -> [current forum] will do.
............Violation: Crew Warning.
5. If someone puts [DELETE] or [LOCK] in their thread title, you must take action!

6. Any post or thread deleted for violation of rules must be screenshot before it is deleted.

7. It is the responsibility of all crew, co-captain, and captain to accept join requests for the guild. ALL NEW USERS are accepted into this guild.

8. Once you warn someone, you must add their name to the warning list.
............Violation: Crew Warning.
9. If a user wishes to view their record, they may request a crew member to retrieve the information for them. If a user requests information from the warning list, crew members are to copy and paste the information pertaining to that user and send it to them in a PM.
............Violation: Failure to provide a user with their record will result in a Crew Warning.
10. Crew status will be revoked if you violate TOS, have received two crew warnings, your term finishes, or under special circumstances. In the event that you have received two Crew Warnings, you will be temporarily suspended from duty, or permanently demoted from crew depending on the severity of your indiscretions.

11. DO NOT let the power go to your head. You’re still a normal person. Don’t expect people to bow down to your feet because you’re crew.

1. TThe GM will not get involved in the game except to post their own little comments. These comments must be neutral and may NOT give away anything about what’s actually going on in the game. This means NO giving away ANY information about who has what role to ANYONE.
............Violation: warning, and banning from hosting future games for twice the regular waiting period.
2. The GM must receive an explanation of each clue from people with positions in order to verify that the clue can be traced back to that person’s GAIA self.

3. If a GM is unable to post an update for any reason, but still wants to get an update up, they MAY allow another person of their choosing to write and/or post an update. However, the GM must inform the players of this if they can, and the person writing/posting the update MUST either drop out of the game, or be dead/jailed/inactive/not playing.

4. If a GM is unable to continue running the game, they MAY pass their duties on to another person of their choosing. However, the new GM must NOT be in the game, or must WITHDRAW themselves from the game within 24 hours of accepting the position. This change of GM must be announced to ALL players still in the game.

5. Any decision made by the GM pertaining to the game is FINAL!

6. In the event that no crew members are online and a GM spots serious drama, they MAY intervene, but they must follow ALL rules which apply to crew members, as well as post a thread in the crew sub-forum explaining their actions.
............Violation: If a GM intervenes without following the proper protocol, they will receive a Crew Warning.
7. A GM MAY NOT abuse their crew powers in any way, shape or form. This includes but is not limited to editing other people’s posts, deleting threads without permission, and moving threads as they please.
............Violation: Crew Warning.
8. In addition to receiving warnings for violation of GM rules, and regular guild rules, GM’s can also receive warnings for ANYTHING crew members can.

9. While a person is GM, every warning received during their GM-ship will count as a CREW warning. If a GM receives TWO crew warnings, they will be relieved from their duties and replaced by a crew member or a member appointed by crew who will finish the game.

10. Once a GM finishes a game, any crew warnings they received will remain as regular warnings on their record.

11. GMs are required to compile their game updates into a single thread in the Archives forum before they are demoted from crewship. They're welcome to begin the compilation any time during their reign, but it must be done before they finish.

12. To be eligible to submit an application for the position of GM, you must have participated in at least 2 games prior to your submission. This is to ensure that you have a firm enough grasp of how the game runs, and make sure you're dedicated to the guild enough that you won't forget about the game halfway through.

13. These rules may change at ANY given time. It is YOUR responsibility to check this thread for changes. The crew will do it's best to inform everyone of changes, but ignorance of the rules is never a valid excuse.
