The days rolled by slowly. Seasons changed so quickly that the Alicorn barely had time to notice one before the next made its way onto the scene. Having wandered all over the Soquili lands, Zhenga came across many amusing characters.
The one that stood out to her the most though was the little colt. But for the life of her, she couldn't quite remember his name. But all in all, she figured by now he was grown. And hopefully taking good care of himself. Though she wondered if he had ever found that little fairy they had chased down that one day.
But as time went by, Zhenga's thoughts wandered more and more often back to one particular Soquili. Fenrir. It had been so long since the last time she had seen him. Had something happened? Was he hurt? Or...worse? These troubled thoughts started to run rampant more often through her mind in the most recent days. Eventually, after her little journey, she was brought back to the first place they met.
Standing beneath a tree who's leaves had started to fall heavily upon the ground. She let out a small sigh. Her slender tail moving back and forth as she stood there quietly. Silver eyes gazing out into the open expanse of land before her. The mare had traveled far and wide. But still there was nothing out there to keep her well, out there.

Y'sril the raccoon was bored. He had been stuck here for ages, exploring by himself given that the big lughead of a soquili he is accompanying is content to merely sit there and.......not do anything. Absentmindedly knocking a nut against the tree, he gave a huff and glanced at the grey shadow behind him. Fenrir was curled up with his hooves tucked under him as he lazed sleepily under the sun. The soquili hasn't had the heart to explore ever since....well.........the raccoon thought back to that high spirited femme.....
yes no wonder the soquili is smitten.
He yawned and tossed the nut away. 'Hey Fen, look! Zhenga is here!!' Fenrir didn't bat an eyelash, merely shifted his position, "yeah like that last 2000 times right...'
Y'sril pouted, turning around, 'Well, maybe if you actually got up and looked....' he rolled his eyes and cast them around the glade. A passing blur caught his attention and he squinted, wondering what it was........what.....was that.......hey......
Excited, he scrambled to his feet and went loping off towards it while Fenrir opened one eye and closed it again.

Letting her black wings unfurl, Zhenga stretched them, giving a few flaps before folding them against her back again. Like always, the mare preferred to walk instead of fly. You could see much more detail in things on the ground than in the air. Some would call her crazy as those who didn't have wings would love for the feel of the wind over their skin and through the manes. But it didn't matter to her.
The rustling of movement nearby turned a single ear. Something was coming closer and pretty quickly in fact. Turning her head, she raised a curious eyebrow in the direction whatever it was was coming from. The furry tip of her tail twitching in slight anticipation. Perhaps it would be another new face to meet. Though little did she know, the one who was coming in her direction was someone she hadn't seen in quite a while but knew pretty well.

The raccoon gave a flying leap out of the bush, paws apart and face grinning from ear to ear, 'ZHENGA!' he yelled, and burrowed into her feet. The spotted female soquili was as he remembered her, wings and whiskers and all. 'How are you?? We haven't seen you in ages! Fenrir will perk up now!' he babbled quickly, still wrapped around her forehoove. His own tail twitched side to side, betraying how happy he felt, anything to see another living thing!

The little raccoon's outburst startled her at first. But once she saw that familiar little rascal a wide smile parted her lips. "Y'sril!" Letting out a chiming laugh, she lifted one leg up that he clung to. Her head lowering so that she could get a better look at him. "I'm doing fine. And yes it has been quite a while. But you seem to be doing well I guess?"
Grasping the scruff of his neck gently in her teeth she placed him onto her back in between those feathery wings. "Fenrir is around?" Her head moved this way and that as she tried to spot where exactly he was. The excitement bubbling up in her chest, about ready to burst. "Will you take me to him please?"

Grasping lightly at her mane to steady himself he hunched over so as to not fall off. Her wings created a nice buffer so he wasn't too worried. 'Been boring since you were gone,' Y'sril grinned, chuckling to himself and then lifted one paw, pointing in a direction ahead. 'Old grumpy is that-a-way being lazy and not interesting,' he said, thinking that Fenrir will be over the moon at seeing Zhenga again. His mind craftily worked and he leaned closer to the soquili's ears, 'we should move quietly so as to surprise him' the raccoon whispered.

"I can say the same about everything without you two." Giving him a wink, she nodded her head. Braids bouncing along her neck. "I'll be as quiet as I can be." Silently, she slipped into the trees. Heading in the direction he had pointed. She made a mental note to herself not to move too fast, it might give off that she was coming and spoil the surprise. But still, her hooves traveled quickly and quietly.

He twitched slightly, in a half dream half awake stage. There were rustling to the right of him and he didn't get up immediately, thinking that it was Y'sril returning, 'mmm, you should go get some berries or something...' Fenrir mumbled, turning towards the sound and fluttering his eyelids.
Something pink passed before him and he blinked, thinking he was still asleep.....

Finally emerging into the little area Fenrir was lazing in, Zhenga was a little taken back by his comment. Letting out a soft giggle, she turned her head slightly. Giving him a coy look.
"Is that anyway to talk to someone you haven't seen in a while, Fenfen? Demanding berries instead of saying hello?" She gave her slender tail a quick flick back and forth as she watched him. Silver eyes dancing as she took a few subtle steps into the sunlight.

He jerked awake, green eyes opening wide at the sight of a soquili he definitely did not expect to see standing before him. 'Z.....Zhenga?' he asked cautiously, still not quite believing what he's seeing....
Y'sril meanwhile tottered from Zhenga's back, carefully judging his distance and leaping to the ground, "you bet it is' he cheekily said, "this will make you get off your butt' he added, scurrying to Fenrir's side and tapping him smartly on the hindquarters.

"The one and only." She grinned at her little comment. Tail moving happily behind her, the tips of her wings giving a few little twitches.
She couldn't hold back the excitement anymore. Taking a few bounds forward, she tucked her head underneath the stallion's chin and leaned an ear against his chest. "Its been too long Fenfen. I almost thought you had forgotten about me...."

The breathe caught in his throat before he let it out slowly, wrapping his head around hers and nuzzling against the tip of her mane where it joined to her soft skin. 'I can never forget about you Zheng....' he said softly, although he did briefly wondered once some time ago if she had forgotten him.
He finally got to his feet, urging her up with him and took a long look. She seem to have gotten even more beautiful if that was possible, her coat rich and sleek, and mane neatly braided. He remembered the first time they had met and the journey they had taken and wondered how he could have lived without seeing her for so long. 'But I'm glad you're back...' he smiled.

Her heart fluttered momentarily as he returned the affection. The warmth of his body so inviting. It had been a while since she had been so close to anyone to feel the initial radiance of their body heat. "I'm glad you didn't. I was worried about you Fenfen."
Moving her head back just a bit so that she could look him in the eyes. A small smile now replaced her grin. Her ears perking then relaxing as the excitement subdued itself for the time being. Everything about his features, his coat colors, his eyes. The way his mane curled. They were the same as the first day they had met, and he was still just as handsome to her. "I'm glad you are back as well. Where have you been all this time? I looked for you as I wandered but I could never seem to find you."

"Uh...." the elation he felt turned to embarassment. He had travelled along initially but it soon turned to boredom and then longing as he grew older. Meeting his siblings made it obvious how old he was getting as they were mated and had sired foals and fillies. But he could hardly tell Zhenga that, she would be expecting bold tales of his travels like the kinds he spoke of when they met. 'I've been around...' he said vaguely.....of course he couldn't lie to her also......."But enough about me, where have YOU been? Have you missed me?" he asked coyly, ears twitching excitedly.

She hadn't expected an elaborate explination of where he had been. But perhaps something more than just 'I've been around' was something she was more wanting. Oh well.
Wrinkling her black nose slightly, she grinned a bit sheepishly. "I've been around as well." Her ears perked forward as she gave him an almost 'Are you serious?' look to his question. Lipping at the end of his nose, she chimed in a little bit of laughter. "Of course I've missed you Fenfen. How could I not?"
