Down below, the herd beasts were static as humidity rolled throughout the endlessly stretching plains. Not good enough grazing for the herds to stay, and not good enough water for any prides to frequent it. What did grow here was steppe at best, and even though the air for the moment lingered for rain. Perched above the plains, the sleek black cat rested, observing the animals below her. There wasn’t any pressing need for hunting, so she would not badger them. But when she wasn’t killing them, she did like to watch them move. She wasn’t sure if it was the remnants of a primal instinct that encouraged her to, or simply the relaxing notion of food being near. It made her thoughts easier to dwell on other things.
The rains would be coming soon, and even more beasts would be out. It would be a good time to find more rogues, or lost members of the blood; and her eyes were ready for it. No rose to her feet and steadied herself, pondering this and that underneath the crown of her head.
But as she moved to lay in a different direction- the herds below began to split and grunt amongst one another. Down below- a streak of red cut through the crowd, and began to sprint across the endless beige. She made a few good efforts and at latching on to the beasts- but with a kick in the face, she floundered and fell to the side.
No moved from where she was to get a better look- leaning down and watching as the other female picked herself up. “Hey-!” She questioned the strange lioness, and leaned her weight into the rocks to keep from slipping.
Ohanna sputtered and rose to her feet, shifting her jaw back and forth to stop the stinging and pop it back into place. “Uff.” She muttered and swatted her tail, glancing up briefly to catch sight of the black lioness above. “…I guess I won’t be catching any food like that!” She called, her voice carrying a bizarre hint of an accent.
"No, I don't suppose you will." No called back, and carefully ambled down the rockside to check on the stranger.

Tired, tired and exhausted, tired of wandering, getting lost, forgetting which way was back, which way might be home. Her tail dragging somewhat behind her as he paws moved continuously in a constant rhythm that she didn't even pay attention too: she was tired, thus didn't care to notice. Something in the distance, flickering forms in her eyes as she squinted, mouth opening in a gape-
-food.
Though Karana'Mzaana was in no condition to hunt, she was too tired, thirsty, and unknowing.
Had she taken a wrong turn again?
Her form moved solemnly without a care, she just wanted it all back, to have the holes in her memory filled in like they used to be.

Kidondo was ten paces behind No, slowing to a halt as the huntress began her work. Watching a femalle hunt had always fascinated him. They were so swift on their paws, so precise with their movements. This one, seemed to be struggling, but whether she was or not, she was still a powerful sight. He watched, entranced, until No's pure, ringing voice called out and his attention was diverted to her.
He stepped towards her, slow steps taken as if he thought about each and every one. He had not caught the words of the stranger, though her colouring had interested him. He nodded, cast a glance to his green-eyed companion and then let his eyes sweep out across the land.
He missed it at first and would have if the other lioness hadn't been moving, but there was someone else out there. He raised himself up high, curling her tail as he tried to pick out the details of this lioness. "Looks like we've stumbled across a crowd." Kidondo spoke.
(( sorry for the suckage post, it seems to take me a while to get into Kidondo mode. ))

No turned to look at Kidondo, her claws holding her rather firmly in place on the slope. “Seems to be,” She smiled, and took another look down at the stranger lifting herself up. Although the slope was a bit up- it wasn’t hard to miss the burning red colors of the other. Definitely worth a talk at least. Maybe she wasn’t much of a hunter, but that was hardly the only talent lionesses were gifted with.
As she carefully half slid down the slope, No caught sight of what Kidondo had been speaking about. There was another lioness stalking forward- perhaps weakly making an attempt on the beasts the other female had scattered? If she was- she gave up before she started, and seemed to be looking at them with a hungered and weary expression.
Down below, Ohanna spit out some blood that the had entered her mouth when she’d bit her tongue. “Marvelous.” She grunted and swatted her tail, wiping her mouth with the end of her paw. The blood didn’t show much on her already bright red exterior- but she could smell it there, and that troubled her. She wouldn’t get anyone looking like-
Stone fall pulled her eyes to the black female who had finally reached the bottom. Smaller then she was- but, Ohanna got the impression she managed a hell of a lot better in rogue life then she did. Her and her fellow seemed well fed and strong- and her strange eyes played about the form of the male for a few moments. Well, maybe this wouldn’t be a total loss!
The black cat struck passed Ohanna after giving a careful look towards her jaw, and faced the other lioness who seemed to be stumbling about. “Hey, you okay over there?” She squinted, puffing her whiskers out.
While No focused on the other, Ohanna turned to face the male that followed up after the female. "Ahah-" She nervously scuffed. "I guess fate seems to like me making my mistakes in front of a full audience."

Black, something red flickering past her eyes lightning up spits of color here and there and a thin scent of blood coated the breeze that swept past her making the black and red lioness stop, the silver of her pelt in contrast to the rest of her. Silver hues squinted at the redder form, a female where the scent seemed to be casting from. Red, but not like her, red though more thick, vibrant, not as if painted like Mzaa's markings seemed to be.
Though the others intrigued her now.
Anther female, pure lack, and a male of red, strange, she had never spotted a group traveling together-or perhaps the three weren't together.
A voice caught her attention, and Mzaa stopped several yards form the midnight female, black..such black, like her, a relative? Her mind was racing and she was unable to keep up without faltering her thoughts of breaths.
Okay? Did others out here really care about those passing them by? She would have suspected that rogues would be unfriendly to other passer bys because of the competition for food, though this female seemed kind and not as intimidating as hte bright female nearby.
"Tired.." she spoke somewhat softly, cautiously questioning whether she should step closer to the stranger...and hte rather large male at her side.

(( n00b question now x3 what lioness type do you have in your siggus? Is it new rogue lineart? It's so pretty whatever it is. ))
Kidondo, paused and settled his rump slowly onto the ground. For a while they weren't going anywhere and he was confident enough that the strangers wouldn't be so stupid as to attack them. He blinked his odd, brass eyes at first Ohanna, admiring her bright coat. With fur that brilliant she could have been born a Firekin.
"Please." He spoke suddenly, his voice surprisingly soft despite it's deep tone. "Don't be uncomfortable in our presence." He flicked his eyes to No and then back to the other dwindling nearby. She looked as if she were considering coming over.
Such qualities might have turned another Firekin away but Kidondo had learnt that such hesitation could mean the difference between life and death. No, that other female had enough wits to not poke her nose int trouble with irritation. They would need ones like that.
"I want bite unless you give me reason to." He tried to comfort, though perhaps that wasn't the best way to go to do it. "Come join us." He shifted and turned his gaze to No. As always there was a deep affection for her in those orbs. He had never spoken words of affection to her, never once told her that he loved her, but it showed in his looks and his actions.
"Would you like to do the introductions?" He smiled, almost sweetly, an expression that looked almost strange on such a large male.

(( Yeah! It's the new rogue art. <33 ))
No watched the female slink forward. She looked weak and sickly- far worse then any of the rogues they had come across so far. She seemed to be worried by Kidondo and the other female- and hoped what he said a few seconds later would settle her nerves. Just hearing his voice behind her was enough to settle her mind in any weather. “There’s no pride in hurting the weak, much more in making them strong.” No thrummed. “Do not be troubled by us. Have you lost your way?” From behind, Ohanna continued to focus her attention more on Kidondo then the two females in front of them. She gave a nervous laugh at his dismissal of her mishap. But she had a hard time formulating any kind of witty response. What did someone say to kindness? She simply let her blank eyes glimmer slightly, before looking to the new female dragging herself forward. “My, what has been chasing you around?” Ohanna balked. No’s ear docked, and she took a few steps back like she was reeling the wary rogue in. “I’m No.” She spoke to her. “And my king, Kidondo.” She motioned. Ohanna practically melted. Her brilliant pelt shifted as she glanced towards the large male. A king! This was the best kick in the face she’d ever gotten. She couldn't help but laugh faintly, somewhat at herself, and waved her paw. "Oh dear. Don't get many kings around places like this; eh?" She shot towards the weary looking female. "Nothing but dirt and grime here."

Mzaa peered at them, not in a glare, but in wonder, question, she probably did look weak, though she only told herself she was tired, she didn't like feeling weak, seeming weak, as if on cue she lifted her head up more straightened her stance, and tried to appear stronger, more awake and less exhausted than she was at that moment.
Least the male said he wouldn't bite...he seemed like he could crush bones with ease.
Mzaa nodded, taking a few steps closer to bring herself almost to No's side, there was an attraction of hope in Mzaa towards No, that perhaps they were related, or had known each other once before. "Yes, lost a lot of things, memories and a home," she said with a faint smile.
Though it was nothing to truly laugh about.
Mzaa's eyes flickered towards the bright red lioness, and her faint smile cast upon her features, "My, wht happened to your jaw?" she said idly flicking her tail.
Mzaa was not one to pick upon, she would stand up for herself.
She thought she was strong.
Mzaa bowed her head forward slightly to No, then Kidondo, she had never met a King before, least one that she could remember, "Nice to meet both of you, are both fo you traveling around? Or just taking a walk from your pride for a while?"

He laughed. No certainly did know how to make an impression. Straight to the point as always. He watched the other two lionesses with interest, finding their banter somewhat comforting. There was nothing wrong with a bit of competitive spirit and these two certainly didn't seem the type to back down.
"But sometimes one must search the dirt for diamonds." Kidondo continued. Perhaps they had found two here. He let his eyes flick first to Ohanna and then to Mzaa. "As No said, I am Kidondo. I am, however, not a the king of a pride as you would think." He paused and raised his head and tail high. The sky seemed to swell above him and he chose his next words carefully. "I am the king of a belief." He wondered what they would think of that. Whether they would laugh. Anyone could call themselves King or Queens of an idea. But not all of them would put their ideas into action.
"I travel the lands with my Queen to find those who share in this belief. We gather an army of red, black and white. And when our army is complete we shall return to the lands in the desert that are mine by right." He bowed his head slightly. "For we are Firekin, whether we hold the ancient blood or not."

Ohanna shot the other female a look, but in truth, she walked right into that and couldn’t help but smile. “Hurts like a b***h.” She mumbled in response and rubbed her cheek. She was glad it wasn’t too harsh a rebuttal- Ohanna could typically dish out insults better then she could take them.
“My, I don’t think anyone’s ever called me a diamond before.” She laughed flatly, and self consciously rubbed her paw against her chest. Maybe some other things. She was curious about whatever this ‘king of belief’ prattle was about. Belief was something she didn’t take much in currency- but she rather liked the fellow, so she kept her tongue quiet as to any clever comment she could come up with. The two- this King and his ideological Queen didn’t seem to be the kind to freely take a joke.
But at the words of an amry- any joshing thought exited her mind, and her ears alighted. “Firekin…” She breathed, thinking to herself. “Haven’t heard of them in a while. Used to be like the bogeymen when I was a kid.” Or so her mother had warned her- but her mother had been rather paranoid, a single lioness raising a single child out in the wastes. "What is it exactly you're planning to do?"
From behind- No listened appeasingly, strolling passed the first lioness and taking a seat near Kidondo and the other two. While he spoke- she carefully judged their expressions.

Red.,black and white...
An army...
Firekin?
Her mind was musing, whirling in a typhoon of flicker memories, trying as if to focus them and make them into something relating to that of which the King of a Belief had spoken of, but nothing seemed to fit, everything was still so scattered and shattered. The other lioness seemed to know the name, Firekin, and the name in itself intrigued Mzaa, fire and hte blood of kin perhaps in its meaning?
Ether way, it was incredibly enticing.
"This belief you stand for, and this army you're creating, what will happen after the fight?" she was curious, wanted to know if there would only be glory, or have an upside, say a home, somewhat of a pride to belong to.
"How would one wish to become part of this belief, this force?"
Did she have to proove anything...

Kidondo, too, watched their reactions. But he was also interested in their responses. How would they react to such a thing? He was throwing a rather grand idea at them from out of the blue. They were sure to be surprised and maybe...curious.
"Yes, you're right. Firekin are no longer the fiersome creatures they once were. If you want the truth about them I'll give it to you gladly. In fact it's probably best I do, though I'll keep it short." He glanced over to Mzaa and nodded to show her question hadn't been forgotten, he'd answer all of those and possibly more in his story.
"Once, the Firekin were a fiersome race. They took slaves, killed and fought, they had their own land where most cannot ever reach and laughed in the face of the rogues. They worhsipped their goddess, stayed away from outsiders and thought themselves best. But then the plague came and wiped all but a mere fraction out. The plague if you were, was the start of their downfall, but truly the Firekin were rotting far before that. The plague wiped out their king and along with him went many other bloodlines. In this day few exist. In fact the majority of the pride, including myself, have royal blood in them." He sneered at that. "As you can imagine, inbreeding has occured, no there hasn't been any problems yet but there will be, you can bet on it."
He paused, drew in a breath and continued. "But that is not the only reason why I leave those lands behind. There are many others. Their stubborn pride is keeping them from changing and evolving to stop this situation. They do not see that a couple of generations down the line they will be nothing more than blabbering fools. They lie in wait for their Goddess to come down to help them, perhaps to create more Firekin for them to breed with. I, however, do not even believe that this foul Finar-si exists. She is a creature of legend. Where was she during the plague and where is she now when idiocy threatens her loved children?"
He shook his head then, "sorry, I'm babbling, but you get the idea. The Firekin are not what they used to be. When I was younger I had the stories drilled into my head. It got me thinking and so I went into the outside land. There I met No and I met others, the so-called inferiors. But looking at them I felt so disgust, no superiority. I was awestruck by their survival abilities, by their strength. The Firekin are deluding themselves if they think they are all powerful." Kidondo replied brashly. "The outsiders are far stronger than they can believe."
"So, what is it that I'm planning? I wish to change the pride, to make them strong again. I will bring fresh blood into the lands, lions who are wise and strong and noble. I will start the pride over. If you like, I wish to eradicate everything that the Firekin once stood for." He swished his tail as if he were speaking about something small, but he realised the extent of this. "But I cannot do that alone. So that is why No and myself are here. We look for...diamonds to join us, rogues with the colours the strength and the intelligence to start our pride anew.We look for rogues to fight alongside us, to fight our kin and to rid the land of rotting filth. Then, after the fight." He eyed Mzaa. "When that is done you may take the desert as your home and live amongst us as warriors. As the Firekin reborn, if you so wish."
He smiled. "And to become a part of this, you have only to prove yourself to us." He gestured No with the tilt of his head.
((omg that was a leeeetle longer than I had thought it would be @__@ sorry! ))

Ohanna listened to the male quietly, trying not to let much of it in. But whether or not she tried- some of it did hit her, and her odd eyes danced away. How long had she lurked for the chance for a better life? Something other then whoring and sheeping around in some shadow? She could be someone- a warrior. She wasn’t afraid, she never had much concern for herself, that much was for sure. But what she didn’t trust was hope, and she bitterly judged the two before her with the flick of her tail.
“I’ve seen leaders come and go, Prince.” Her voice spoke curtly. “Some rogues are rogues by choice, but a lot of us just don’t get much luck out here. It’s hard to cling to any kind of idea.” Her jaw painfully pulled, and she shifted it again until it steadied. “Your words are strong, and I believe you when you say the firekin are weak. If you intend to set up what you say you will create, then you have all the support this rogue can give- but, perhaps the proving will go both ways.” The red beast thrummed. “I’m bought easily, but my trust is all the pride I have left in me.”
No nodded firmly, sliding an eye towards the other rogue. “We make no false claims. If you are strong and willing, we will take you.”

False claims.
Just like her memory.
Internal musings of possible outcomes adn consequences passed her eyes as if a moving scene, colors dancing and whirling with one another, red, black, whites, blood, darkness, rebellion and hope. Something good had to come of it, something. Mzaa let her eyes wander back and forth from No to the Prince, then to the other female rogue.
If she were to join, she'd have to get along with the red pelted female who seemed bitter and prideful of herself.
She'd get along, she would.
It meant a better life, or at least, one that she could remember.
"What is it we must do to prove uorselves to the both of you?" Mzaa asked calmly, coming to stand, back straight, neck holding her head high, though not higher than the Prince's of course.
She'd join, she just needed to proove herself. Just that.
Just that.

"And you would be wise to keep that trust lady Ohanna." Kidondo bowed his head. He didn't want anyone to trust him yet. If he led them to war and then fell beneath his father's claws, all the trust he had gained would be lost. Lions would break.
For now he wanted rogues to follow him because they wanted to do something grand. They wanted to be involved in something. They wanted to do something other than laying around in the sun. When the battle was over and he took the throne, then trust could be formed.
Ultimately, however, whether he meant it or not. There would be a string of trust weaved between them all, a delicate string so slender that it would break given the tiniest jerk. He knew it was there because he trusted No and he trusted these rogues to overpower his weakened kin. They would be the hurricane coming to destroy the desert rose.
His head turned slowly to Mzaa, her dark pelt reminding him strangely of his sister. Koka. He wondered if she would be back at the lands to greet him when he returned. Strange, he had no love for his sister but unlike father, he could not imagine killing her.
"Diamonds need only be polished before they shine. The journey will polish you. By the time we reach the desert you will have proved yourselves to us." In reality, they had already proved themselves. Theyw ere willing, they had the colours and both of them had a desire to do something. That alone was enough.
