Gaia's Master Plan!

Granted that this is long overdue. A Gaia shop that only works with the new cash based credit line you can squander your income on.

Granted there will be some wild and crazy exclusives. And I do plan to buy one of those $25 Target cards sometime shortly.

I guess this is about as user friendly a method of generating more income for Gaia servers and labor... cheese_whine

Selling out would be requiring a membership fee to use the site at all. I think the ways they're trying to get more money for Gaia are pretty mellow. I'd even consider buying one of those Target cards...if there was a Target here.

Since I am hell of pleased with my Gaia Avatar (for well over a year he's been Afro Samurai, and that's how things will remain), I won't be bothered with cash item. Unless they are hell of rad.

But hey, since the site is for free (and it IS the largest online community out there) it is cool that the Gaia creators want to make some (more) money. One doesn't need to pay 10 bucks for the honour to use a forum here.

I love it when the lil' gaiatards start crying "See?! Gaia is selling out!" every time the site has a new paid feature or item. I usually ask them exactly what core principals GaiaOnline has abandoned when it started selling certain content and they might say something like "Well Gaia should be free for everyone man! They shouldn't be making us BUY extra stuff!" That's when I ask them how much they had to pay to log in to the site today and who the heck is holding a gun to their head to MAKE them buy this stuff.

Oh and then there is the constant complaining about the promotional items that are only available in the U.S., well gee, maybe FUNimation's licensing doesn't allow them to market Tsubasa Chronicle in India! But hey it's not like you can't go to the marketplace and buy those goggles for 200-400 gaia gold. stare

For the record, I'm all for a more robust and improved Gaia. And, as I said, this new method of revenue generation is a very good way to boost income.

The nice thing is that one can buy a $10 or $25 Target card as well as the half dozen ways of obtaining unique avatar items already available.

Since I hate using credit cards online, this is my favorite means of taking part in the Gaia economy.

And Gaia is doing some sweet free stuff as well, when the servers aren't blowing out under the stress.

Just wanted to report that the $25 Target card is teh winna!

Look at this little virtual furball humping my ankle. And I got 2500 gaian dollars, a mere 250 of which can buy a monthly letter. A sweet deal, to be sure!
