Now those of you familiar with the term of "Bricking a PSP" knows that there are just some things you don't do. Here's a prime example:

Magus200
Meh PSP owns the DS in my opinion.

Only thing the PSP doesnt have that the DS has is Touch Screen.

Now the DS cant play ps1 games like my favorite FF games.
The DS cant play super nintendo games like my psp can.
The DS cant play my Music Videos or movies.
The DS cant be use as a portable MP3 player.
The DS just has games that after you play out leaves no purpose for the system to remain in your hands.

The DS is too expensive requiring you tu buy too many games.

All games , all music, all videos, all roms in my PSP i got for free.

YOu can hack the PSP in a matter of Minutes and start playing ANY PSP game with ANY disc.

Just more smart to get a PSP, is the geeks-gamer portable station.

Note: I haven't altered anything this individual said, it's on Page 552 of the Console Wars Sticky.

But this illustrates my "Idiot-Proof" arguement, why on earth would you want to break a portable like that when the economy is floundering? Mum & Dad have to work twice as hard to buy another PSP if the Firmware gets zapped...and no matter the updates on Firmware Sony puts out, it's still not "Idiot-Proof". Don't get me wrong, the PSP is a great first offering from Sony in the Portable market...but you don't hear a DS/DS Lite bricking, do you?

I wanna find something I've wanted all along....

Who says you don't? The DS homebrew community just isn't as big as the PSP one. And who says doing all those things will brick your PSP? The danger is with flashing to the flash of course. But even then, I've flashed my PSP countless time and have not yet bricked it once.

It all depends on who's hands it's in. There are going to be idiots that don't read the readme correctly, or at all and make mistakes and end up with a $170+ paperweight. But you do have a point, that person shouldn't be using that as a reason because the average person would probably screw their PSP over eventually.

I also just don't like the fact the person was using homebrew as a reason to buy one. They're portable game systems, he should have listed the games he liked for the PSP.

DS can do all those things psp can, mostly anyways
just not quite as good
and DS is less expensive as psp games are more expensive >_>

psp=good for people who want a lot of stuff to do for little money
DS= really for people who just wanna play good games as psp lacks those

You should look more into the PSP homebrew scene for a small fee on ebay I bought myself a Pandora Battery and Magic Stick which can unbrick and downgrade/upgrade any phat psp. Basically my psp will never fail me unless I take off my highly protective case and smash it on the ground! mrgreen
