Ilori was treasure hunting. Of course, most of his attempts thus far had ended in what he could only classify as... disasters, but that was alright! It was helping him get out of work and 'But the king said I could!' always seemed to be enough to make his parents leave him alone. What he would have to do was recruit his brother. Yes... then he would have more people to help him.

It would be fun! And again... no work that wasn't fun involved. Plus, this way if he ever found the lost treasures of the Dawn Walkers, if he had underlings, he wouldn't even have to be the one to dig them up! It couldn't get any better than that, now could it? So, he would try again. Unlikely, again, that he would find out exactly what his ancient map meant... but he was bound to figure it out eventually.

Eventually...

...Eventually...

Moyenda was so happy to have found Safiya. She was sweet; she was darling; she was perfect. Had he not met her, he did not know where his life would be right now. Probably ruined, leaving him to continue wandering, lost and abandoned like an orphan cub. Mo was the perfect hopeless romantic who turned out to not be so hopeless. So as he wandered wherever his feet would take him, he thought in his head about how wonderful his current situation was like any sap. He did not think about the fight to come with the vultures for come it would. No, he thought only of good and happy things, happy thoughts.

That is, he thought so until he stumbled upon an orange and black youth. "Oh hello," he exclaimed.

Ilori blinked and flipped around from the rock he had been looking at, which he promptly sat on so that adult wouldn't see. Ilori didn't know Mo, but he had seen him wandering around with his... Mate? Maybe? Ilori didn't claim to know. Unless he met the other lions, he didn't really speak to others about them. Gossip was for girls! Which he would never say out loud, because his mother would probably kill him.

"Hello there," Ilori said, smiling his big, flashy smile, "You're in the Dawn Walkers too, right? I've seen you around. I'm Ilori!"

Mo smiled at the cub sweetly. By warriors, he would be considered a pansy. But he probably would agree with them. Many say being orphaned as a cub can make or break them. However, Mo was living proof that there was indeed a medium. He had survived as a scavenger and never truly mastered hunting despite his suitable coat. But Moyenda was nice and as a nice guy, had finished last but enjoyably so in perfection.

"I'm Moyenda and yes I am," he replied. "I don't remember seeing you but that's probably because I've been so distracted lately."

"Don't worry about it," Ilori shook his head, still grinning, "I'm usually either sleeping or with my family. I only notice other lions when I leave in the morning. Does your family live here too?" He was a little curious about who the female lioness was that he had seen Mo with.

He wasn't a very curious lion, usually, but it was probably polite to ask. His mother would, again, kill him, for being rude.

"Well yes," he replied. "My family ...of sorts. My niece is here with me, although it was more a coincident than anything else." He trieed to think to himself if he even knew the youth's parents. They would most likely look something like him. But lately, they had increased so dramatically in numbers that he couldn't quite sort out the pictures in his mind and organize them. His mind had been so focused elsewhere.

"Who are your parents by the way?" he asked in the hopes a name might summon a picture.

Ilori blinked, then looked thoughtful, "Well, my mom is Ada... I think her full name is Adanna... or something like that... I don't know, I always calls her mom, dad always calls her Ada. She's big," he used his paws for emphisis, "And scary when she gets mad, but she doesn't usually. And she's orange like me! Because we're both desert lions naturally, I think. My dad is Nukta," Ilori mentioned, more clear on his father's name since it was shorter, "And he's really big and black, with marks like mine," he pointed at his own, "And I have a brother too. Nanuka. He's mostly black, but he has a white mane."

He hoped that was somewhat of an adiquit description. He had never really thought of himself as much of a story teller, in that sense.

The youth was very straightforward in his statement. So much so that Mo doubted any exaggeration, or at least any intended one. Ilori seemed to say what he thought and what he saw, which to Moyenda, seemed to be the truth. As it was, it wasn't too hard to notice his parents. Orange and black were definitely noticeable colors whether for their brightness or for their darkness. Picking his brain, he could recall seeing them but never paying much attention to them. He was, after all, more of an introvert than an extrovert.

"That's quite the family, there," Moyenda said with a nod. "Seems to be a right good one there too. Looks like you can take care of yourself alright.

Ilori nodded, "Yep! Mom always lets me run around wherever I want... as long as I don't get into too much trouble. She wants me to stick closer now, because of the vultures." Which of course meant less exploring... and less thoughts on how to find Sepoko out there somewhere, and even less likelyhood of finding all the hidden tresures of the Dawn Walkers. Stupid birds.

"I have another brother and sister too... but they're older, and I've never met them," Ilori mentioned, "What does your family look like mister Mo?"

Eh, the vultures. Of course it was a popular subject. They were everywhere and as it was, in control of the most important part of the Dawnwalker lands. And he had promised to fight them. It wouldn't be fun and he certainly wasn't very brave. But he had consigned himself to no choice.

"Well, my niece is of a teal color and then... I have a sister and a brother ...but one is dead and I know nothing about the other." He didn't mention his intentions towards Safiya in accordance with the DW laws to bring her into his family. But he didn't think it was completely necessary to do so.

"But yes, be careful of the vultures. Crafty little things that they are. So many rumors about lions raised as slaves by them. Not a pretty picture ...or fate."

"Ha! I feel sorry for them, if they ever get me as a slave." Ilori grinned proudly, "My mother says I'm the laziest lion on the face of the sahara, and I'd probably convince the vultures to do my work for me!" He then paused, realizing that his mother had probably been pulling a joke on him, "Hum...Oh well, my point is, I'd be a bad slave." He laughed, not really minding that his mother made fun of his tendancy to... never do much of anything. Who needed work anyway?

"I wouldn't worry too much about those stupid vultures. With my mom and dad out to get them, they don't stand a chance. My mom is pretty scary. I'd rather fight a vulture... or... ten... than her." He looked back up at Mo, "Don't worry. Everything will work out. It always does."

Moyenda chuckled at the other's exclamation about how he'd be a horrible slave. He, on the other hand, knew bitterly that he'd probably end up a good slave which came from the sullen sadness he had had when he had accepted his fate as a young cub to be a wanderer and all alone. But as instructed by the youth, he put it out of his mind. He didn't want to think about it or dwell on the fact and being instructed not to made it so much easier to fight it than without those words.

He laughed again. "Well your mother is a guardian for the clan, isn't she? Got to be pretty strong. With a mom like that I'm sure you're secretly strong, just too lazy to know it." Moyenda was good at small bits of flattery and they came natural to him. One had to make oneself feel better when all the world seemed against them. And now he got to use all that practice on others now that he finally had a home to call his own.

Ilori looked liked he was about to protest, but then he stopped and smiled, sticking out his tounge, "You never know Mister Mo, you could be right. Maybe I am secretly a big scary warrior lion." He smirked at the idea, "I'll pounce upon the vultures with such strength that they shall shudder and bow to me!" He sat up on his hind-legs, speading his claws, making him look (sorta-kinda-not really) diobolical.

Then he fell forward, unable to keep his position for that long, continuing to grin, "Or maybe not. All too much... work. I'd rather play! I've been treasure hunting lately." He said, clearly proud of that, "Which is... kinda like work, only fun, so it doesn't matter."

He chuckled at the youth's antics, amused by them. Ilori was lazy and Moyenda rather inept at things like hunting. They were similar in the big picture but not the little one. It was another thing for him to be amused at.

"Treasure hunting, eh? Find anything yet?" he asked with an excited smile. If he had only had days of youth where he could have done the same thing or lounged about lazily without a care in the world, parents by your side. He really wanted that ...really. The youth didn't realize how could he had it ...even if there were vultures around.

"Naw... not really." Ilori admitted sheepishly, "I found an old necklace burried over near the oasis with an old rock covered in markings... but I can't figure out what they mean, so I'm tring to figure it out. It's kinda like a guessing game." He said, smiling a little more once again, "But like I said, it's fun... for the most part. But when it gets boring I go have a nap, then I come back."

He tilted his head up at Mo, "Are you any good at puzzles? I had a friend... back when we traveled... he was probably really good at them... but you know, he's not here with us. He went somewhere else with his mom." Which seemed to dissapoint Ilori terribly, "I know he would know this stuff. He was really smart. But hey, if we figured out all this right away, where would the fun be?" Ilori grinned.
