The den beneath the large tree that Afritti had called her home for several weeks was rarely quiet these days and left alone she found herself a little confused, almost frightened of what lay within the little den with her. Her two daughters, THEIR two daughters. She and Moses had produced a pair of beautiful little girls and although she had been very unwilling to accept their birth now they were here she had seemed to almost adjust to the way of life, to having cubs, but always the lump formed in her throat when Moses left her.
He had barely been gonefor an hour when the wrestless feeling rolled down her spine. She knew he was just out hunting, she knew she could trust him, mostly, there was always that niggle of what if he found somone else while out on one of these foraging journeys? But mostly the shiver was for the cubs. She feared that if he did not come back that they would vanish too, that if she thought about it honestly, she didn't know how to care for cubs alone, that without Moses at her side that she would quickly whither away and the little fluffy bundles she had braught in to the world would vanish with her.
Attempting to shake away the worry which clouded her mind she gazed down her side to the two cubs curled up against her downy belly, she couldn't help but smile, they were cute, she could admit that but beyond that breifest of feelings she didn't know what else to give them, starved of any love as a cub, she truthfully only knew abuse and neglect, she knew this wasn't the way to raise cubs but how to raise them properly was far beyond her comprehension.

The small females head were filled with dreams and beautiful visions of her family, however as she rolled over and bumped against her mothers tummy gently she gave a tired snort and awoke with a start. Her eyes looking around droopily before she saw her baby sister and the large form of her mother.
"Morning momma." She said softly, before yawning loudly and nuzzling against her mother lovingly. She loved her momma, she was so big and strong like daddy and she could protect her and Mawhibidu perfectly.

Mahwibidu was not such a deep sleeper as her sister, always the ball of energy. Even when she did sleep, she squirmed and thrashed about like she were hunting great beasts of myth across endless plains and limitless mountains. Today was no exception, a most wicked smirk and determined expression on her little face as she growled and stretched.

Afritti startled when the little cub pushed her nose against her paw, the small action pulling her from her thoughts. "good morning." She whispered almost frightened that if she said anything else that she would scare the little cute balls of fluff. She let a smile play onher lips as her second daughter woke with a growl, her somewhat darker daughter was so frisky, she couldn't remember ever being so hyper. It was fine though, it made for a more interesting time when she was alone. Of course, she would have prefarred they'd slept until Moses came back, but she could cope with the pair for a while. Even though they out numbered her two to one.
Letting out a gentle breath she leaned down to groom at King'ora, she had realised early on that pale coats needed to be cleaned more often than dark ones. her own was always prestinely clean but nothing much could be seen against the shadowy colours of her fur, the pure crystaline white of cub fur though, well it was hard to keep clean and she hated to see them dirty. That was'nt the way of princesses.
Princesses? She laughed to herself a slight snort rolling over her lips. They wern't princesses, those times were long gone now, she had to stop thinking like that. She and Moses were alone, there was no pride to be ruled, no heir to be marked, they were just four lions lost int he jungle quite literally.
Shaking her dark head she pulled Mahwibidu towards her with a paw placing her beside her sister and grooming her small face. "you are both very hard to keep clean." she muurrs, an almost annoyed tone to her voice though her eyes glimmered with an almodt admireeing light for her two daughters. Though she could never say such things, her body and actions always deplayed what she truely thought. These two little balls of fluff, they were something special they were a part of her and Moses, which made them soemthing very special indeed.

The little female frowned as her sister rolled around, her sister was always so energetic and it was hard to keep asleep when the little furball was bumping into you during the night. However, she was quickly soothed by her mothers tongue as she let out a small, suprised mew before licking back at her mothers muzzle in some mutual grooming. Her momma was beautiful and when daddy wasn't here she felt she had to groom her, momma should never look bad!
As her sister growled however she arched a brow, sneering a little at her before she smirked and moved to pull at her sisters ear with her tiny teeth. She wasn't wanting to hurt her...just show she could be rough and energetic too as she gnawed at her ear playfully till her mothers words interuppted her.
It shook loose a little giggle from King'Ora before she smiled up at her large mother, still half splayed over her sister as she turned her head towards the older lioness.
"Hey momma, where's daddy?" She started.

Bidu, as she liked to be called, struggled against her mother's much bigger paw but not out of hatred for grooming. More just because it was something to do, some energy to spend, a new foe to conquer. The grooming was less turbulent though, she remained still for that, actually quite liking the pampering and attention, and even put off a retaliation to her sister's gnawing to enjoy it a few moments more.
As soon as they were done, Bidu tustled with her sister for a while, stopping still to let her speak.

Afritti smiled almost gently as her cubs played with one another between her forepaws, she admired them quietly, they were a pretty pair of girls. She cared for them despite her rarely uttered words, they were somehting very special to her.
Upon Kingo'oras words though the salmon streaked female gave a sigh, she hated answering that question, the simple answer was, out hunting, but her heart always wondered, her deepest fear always lingered in her mind, her father always lingered in her mind.
Moses wasn't like that but the worry was always there. "Your fathers out hunting." She whispers, a nod tilting her head as she looked out past the greenery that hid their tree base den. "He'll be back soonw ith something nice for us to eat."Hearing her own words, she knew them to be true, Moses would never leave her, or their cubs, he was just so, strangely fatherly in a platonic sort of way, it almost made her giggle childishly the thought that he was so almost adoreing of herself and their tiny children. She stiffled the laughter though turning to her babes. "He'll be back very soon."

King'Ora pouted, she hated when daddy went off hunting, he always took so long and brought back such fattening beasts to eat on. However she had to smile up at her momma, she liked the thought of her momma and daddy taking care of her and her sister...with whom she was still tussling with playfully.
"Daddy always brings us those baby antelope and klipspringers." She said, pouting slightly before she licked her paws lazily.
"It's gonna make me and 'Bidu fat." She said playfully, before moving to gently gnaw at her baby sister's ear.

Bidu stopped wrestling and tustling for a moment to look at her sister in mild bewilderment. What was wrong with baby antelopes and klipspringers? And getting fat? It was a thought that she had to laugh away.
"Antelope is tasty though," she churred as her sister began chewing on her ear. "I wonder what other stuff tastes like...like those big things with long noses...or those big things in the water."

Afritti couldn't help but utter a quiet laugh then, what questions her daughters braught to her. "It is much better to be well fed than starving my darlings." She puurrs her nose touching each one in turn, a sort of kitty kiss to each forehead.
Smiling at Bidu, the salmon streaked femme looked thoughtful. "Animals mostly taste the same my dears, though elephants are sort of gamey and hippos are very fatty." She paused then to glance out through the entrance to their den. She wanted Moses to return, fencing these questions was hard work.

The little female pouted at her sisters words, she wasn't saying they weren't tasty, she was just saying they made her feel fat and she stretched her forepaws slightly as she sat there between her mothers forepaws. She then smirked slightly as she thought over her father bringing back another antelope, he never seemed fat...he always seemed really muscely and stuff.
"Well I'm gonna look just like momma when I grow up." She said proudly, puffing out her white fluffy chest as she watched her sister. "That's because I'm just gonna eat a little bit of big meals so I don't get fat and then I'll be as pretty as momma."

Bidu blinked at her mother as she tried to absorb the words she'd used. Elephant. The big things with long noses. Hippo. The big things in the water. Elephant. Hippo. Elephant. Hippo. Elephant. Hippo...
"Erephan and Hippa? So thats what they're called!" she beamed like she'd been struck by inspiration.
And then she had to think hard about a reply to her sister. She chewed her lip and looked the comical picture of concentration.
"I'll eat lotsa food and be big and strong like poppa!" she proclaimed after a short while, proudly.

Afritti shook her head and laughed. "There is no need to be big and strong girls, your father will take care of us, thats sortof his job." She smiled her deep violet eyes twinkling. For a moment she remembered her fathers words, Moses, her bodyguard, how things had changed. He would forever be the only male she adored, even if she could never truely tell him thus.
"Elephant and Hippo Bidu, princesses must have proper ettiquetteafterall, you don't wish to embarress your father, now say it again." She raised a brow, looking stern for a moment, she didn't want her cubs to sound uneducated.
Her brow creased slightly though and she nuzzled Bidu gently, she didn't want to be stern to them, she wanted to be a good mother, she just didn't know what lines were okay to cross. This being a mother thing was tough. "Be my good little princesses and just, practise those words okay? Then when your father comes home you can tell him what you learned." She looked between her cubs for affirmation, how would she ever know if she was being a good mother or not?

The little cub smiled as she stretched more so, little claws scritching against the ground next to her mother and sister before she looked at them both. She loved her family so much and she watched as her mother nuzzled her sibling, cocking her head to the side before she looked out the den, smiling to herself.
"It looks dark mommy, you think it's gonna rain?" She asked curiously, seeing the gray clouds that gently rolled over the horizong of the sheltering trees.

Bidu looked almost crestfallen at her mother's reprimand but then all was forgotten as she nuzzled. She mewled and rumbled at her mother, quite happy once again.
"Okay momma, we will be good princesses and make you and poppa happy," she beamed up at her dark pelted mother.
Bidu then begin a little hushed and whispered practice session, her attention wandering to her sister but her mouth continuing to utter 'elephant' and hippo' one after the other.
