His paws were crossed quite firmly, and his icey green eyed gaze stared out dolefully at the water home where he sat. He was bored, he his mother father and brothers had been traveling for quite a while, towards the pride where his mother belonged. Having met a few creatures along the way, the young, sark male had slowly realised that there may be soemthing wrong with him, that being half lion, half cheetah wasn't normal. Time to be bored meant quite literally time to think and time to think gave him these ideas which rolled around his head.
He tried to speak to his father about it but jani had simply told him that they were perfect. Really whom was he supposed to ask? Who should he voice his questions to? He just didn't know.

Fen yawned and stretched his legs out. Once again, the boy was the last to get up, blue eyes finding an empty den. He padded out of the entrance and headed in a different direction, mind racing. What was he going to do once Ryega and he were out of here? He had to ask himself over and over, he had to have a plan. A well detailed plan. He was going to return, hopefully, anyway, so missing his family was an unnecessary bother. Sure, he would indeed miss them, but he wouldn't vocalize it. He wouldn't miss them that much.
He would miss his brothers above all else.
Speak of the devil, there was Mbura at the water hole! "Hey Mbura, whatcha doin'?" Fen asked as he padded up to his slightly down-trodden looking sibling and sat down when he reached him.

Jet black ears perked as he heard his name spoken by an all too familiar voice. A smile graced his maw and he greeted his brother with a nod. Fen was always cheery, he wondered did his brother think of what they were. Rolling his thick shoulders the golden streaked male gave a sigh. "I'm just thinking Fenris." he said simply, "I know hard to imagine innit?" he grined at his brother, he never claimed he was the smartest cub of Jani and Sukari's litter, he was certainly the strongest the lion in him almost more visable than the cheetah though his legs and face were more that of the cheetah than the lion he was built in a more sturdy manner.
"Yanno, I met a cheetah not too long back, he was surprised, to say the least, that our parents are what they are." His brow creased a little. "You ever think about it Fen?" He muttered, he had to voice his concerns to someone whom would listen and maybe answer his questions, someone who understood what he was talking about.

"I wonder about it, from time to time," Fen said. "I'm always looking for someone who's not a brother of mine but who has one parent cheetah and the other a lion..." He admitted. "But there's nothing wrong with who you are, and besides, what can you do about it?" He asked. Sometimes his optimism would get on other's nerves, and right now he really hoped it helped insteaad of hurt. "We are part-lion part-cheetah, we're better than either species!" That little bit he'd gotten from Sukari. He awaited a response from his darker brother to hint to him whether he was making things better or worse.

Rolling his thick shoulders the dark cheeton gave a sigh and a shake of his head. "Just seems like we're alone int he world fen." He smiled weakly listening to his brothers words of comfort. In a way, yes, they were comforting but in another he hated them, they sounded like his fathers words, they were perfect. He couldn't accept that it wasn't good enough for him, age was bringing with it worry and wisdom.
"Thats what pa said too, I dunno..it ws the way that cheetah looked at me fen like I was something alien, something so strange.." His brow creased. "Whats it gunna eb like when we get to ma's pride? Lions every where and us in the middle of them all..I'm worried if a cheetah found me strange what will a bunch of bigegr lions think?"

"Mm," Fen grunted, almost distraught. He knew what his brother meant, but... he'd gotten over it long ago. Perhaps if he'd had such an encounter recently he'd feel different, but as he was, his being a cheeton was an insignificant detail. "I don't know what to say, Mbura. We are obviously... different than cheetahs. But we're not that much different. You are part cheetah, just with a little lion blood mixed in... We're what we are, and there isn't much you can do about it," he said truthfully, offering a smile to his brother. He wanted to help, but he didn't know what to say.

The tufted tail flickered as he listened to his brother, he wished beyond anything else that he could think the way Mbura thought, he even considered, well, maybe he could pretend to be a lion, he doubted he could pretend to be a cheetah, but a small lion. He rolled this over in his mind before voicing his thoughts to his brother.
"Fen, you think i could get away with bein' a lion? Yanno I could bulk up some and, an I think I'm gunna get a mane." he reached a paw up to touch the flock of golden hair that fell over his forehead. "I mean..It means leaving mum and dad..but if I pretend to be a lion, at least I'll be accepted..right?" his brow creased as he asked this question. He didn't want to leave his parents, at least not yet, he loved his crippled father and large mother, but maybe..maybe before they reached their mothers pride he could leave, or maybe..maybe when they got to the pride he could escape in to the world, once he was old enough, pretend to be a lion? He could get away with being a lion, he kept telling himself this, though doubt shadowed those light green eyes.

"Well, I've never thought of trying anything like that, Mbura," Fen said. While he was hurt that his brother planned on leaving early... his own plans came to mind. Fen was going to escape with Ryega... Yes, they would both be leaving earlier than Sukari would expect. "If that'd be what would make you happy, Mbura, go for it," Fenris said honestly. "I think that, if you wanted, you could pull it off, definitely. But... where would you go?" Fenris asked, curious. The cheeton really wanted to help his brother, if he could. He probably wouldn't be able to stay with him- Fen looked too much like a half-breed to be able to pass as anything but a cheeton. Mbura, though, he was different. He seemed to pick up more from Sukari than from Jani, Fen was sure that he could pull it off if he wanted.

The golden streaked youngster gave a sigh. " I dunno, I guess to some whgeer that will train me to be stronger?" His brow creased, he clearly hadn't thought this one through. "but maybe if I'm careful i can be acepted in to a pride as a lion.." He trailed off, perhaps this was weighing too heavily on his mind. "I just..well I don't wanna be a failure to mother, I dunno it's kinda like we're unnatural, yanno? I mean..the way that cheetah looked at me, it was like I shouldn't exsist at all, what if momas pride thinks like that?"
His brow creased and he let a long sigh escape his maw. "If I was a lion, if I could just pretend to be a lion, maybe I could make her proud..."

Fen personally didn't understand why anyone would want to be anything but what they are. He was fine being a cheeton, he didn't mind at all. However, this really seemed to be bothering Mbura... He knew that their mother had no problem with what they were- they were part-her, after all. "Mother is proud of us, I know it," Fenris said. "She's proud that we exist and we're healthy, on top of everything we can do. I'm the fastest, you're the strongest, our brothers are... existant," Fen said with a chuckle. He knew his brothers, but he was much closer to Mbura than he was to them. "I'm sure things'll work out. If you need me to help you, I'd definitely be able to." Fenris offered. He hoped that if his brother asked for help, it'd be before he left with Ryega...
