I've found that many christians believe it permissable to use divination such as: astrology, tarot cards, and other things and I think its a growing problem. If anyone here has any friends like this, or who believe this yourself, check out the following verses.
Leviticus 19:26 "Do not practice divination or sorcery"
Deuteronomy 18:10-11 "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead."
Both of these are from the NIV translation of the Bible. If anyone finds other relavent verses, please feel free to put them here.

o.O Why would they see it as okay if it has been said not to do so to begin with?
I admit I read the astrology btu I do that for fun. No meaning behind it. I don't beleive they work...
My best friend's a wiccan and she does the tarot card thing....I think it might be fun...but at the same time it's like giving in to temptation.
o.o I think I see how people can get caught up in that stuff.... confused

I only believe that divination is fun because ppl want to know what the future holds. I only like tarot cards because of the pictures. I think of it as a game...but I am never going to own any or get into it. Also, I believe that ppl are a little superstitious. Many still believe in luck.

That's pretty much how I feel about them too. ^.^ love doing them for fun but never because I believe in it. It's all really a matter of a game...
except Satanics...-shudder- never ever want to deal with those again!!!

according to my friend, they're like wiccans, cept they worship Satan... (she's Christian she has a friend who is Satanist, but he doesnt try and convert people) also to be initiated into the Satanic church (or whatever they call it) you have to have intercourse in front of the congregation.

Wow, talk about your worldly ways. I have studied many different beliefs in the world but I have never heard about Satanists. I shall pray for them too.

Divination is completely wrong. I mean doing it for fun is giving in to temptation even if you don't believe in it. I think it's part of giving into your want to know the future. I don't know though. Sort of like fantasy books. Fantasy increases the imagination is what I believe but divination is wanting to know something God doesn't want us to know. I use to read astrology as well even not believing in it but it gives into a temptation of wanting to try out what the astrology tells us based on when we were born.

astrology-all supersticous. anything they say can be true to anyone like "you will find a new love today" people will look and try to find a way that it suits them. that's why you hear of it being accurate so often.
tarot cards-although some people may think they hold some special powers I now believe it is a was to further analyze your own self. like if you choose your favorite and least favorite card. then find what you like in the least favorite and hate in your favorite it is difficult but it opens up your mind to look at things from all angles.
anything else is either demonic, a trick or Godly
(i have a renewed interest in supernatural things after reading this deep psycological book by my favorite author, so forgive me...)
