Umm...that argument's never come up before. Usually my family has fun eating them. I mean it's not like we're cannibals or something but we just go "Oh look, it's a mini-Bob! Lalala, bye bye Bob!" *munch*
Hmm...okay, maybe that wasn't the best way to put it. But still, VeggieTales isn't bad or wrong at all. It's always been a nice way to teach kids some bible stories, without going so PG13 about it. I myself have been watching it since I was a kid and knew the difference between Larry and a nicely cut cucumber.

I think VeggiesTales is doing a great job! They're teaching Bible values without like Fushigi said, "without going PG13"
I think kids are able to tell the difference between a real veggie and the characters from the show...^^;;

knivesl some people say that VeggieTales is Wrong bcause it makes kids think they are actually eating the characters when the eat their veggies Bob: the tomato Larry: the cucumber Jr.: the assparagus and so on Yes, but if that's a problem, then I think a nice talk with the kids about the differance between fantasy and reality would settle it. If the kids think that those are real vegetables, then maybe they're too young to be watching it. I myself love them, as they do teach the values of God, as well as keep it fun for the kids, too. When I was very young (4...5 maybe) I drew a series of comics starring an apple and banana who fell in love and got married, having six apple/banana children (the boys were apples, the girls were bananas...yes, I realize the irony in that), but I didn't stop eating apples after that. Kids are smart enough to figure such things out if you let them know that the veggietales characters are fictional. God looks out for kids. Everything that happens in my early childhood, even being molested and such, I look back on and thank God for 'cause it made me who I am today. And I know that's how he wants me to be. In short, the Veggie Tales are just fine.

I think Veggie Tales is a great way to help little children get interested in God without pressuring their parents to go to church. A much more subtle way to influence them, but in a nice way. Plus, I like it MUCH more than Barney. I mean, mmost of the families I babysit for have Veggie Tales, and I can watch it without going nuts.

I have but a few things to say:
1: The Cheeseburger song
a: I love the cheeseburger b: sorry, closed now c: I will wait for you faithfully d: wow, I'm really hungry e: Oh look, Denny's is cheap! f: cheeseburger don't be mad, I just really need to have my needs met, and you're not doing it right now.
Hmmmm....
2: The Pirates who don't do anything
a: it's fun to be lazy! b: we even have a theme song! c: Does the bible say anything about being lazy? d: Does the bible say anything about glorifying things of evil? (Isaiah 5:20)
3: for those who say i'm being too melodraumatic, and that I'm taking it too far, and kids won't pick up on stuff like that,
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
(IE "yea, did God REALLY say that it was a BIG sin?")
2 Cor 11 13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
So Satan is more subtil than any other creature, and can appear as an angel of light (or an innocuous TV program), but has the power of all hell to corrupt, little by little, compromise by compromise.

and that is why they (the creaters of vegietales) made it a point that larry's songs were silly songs... in the cheeseburger episode that is the one where they made the point to "Stop being so silly"
it is our jobs to make sure that kids understand the meaning of the show... the reason they (the creators) throw those silly songs in there is because kids have short attention spans and they need to redraw their attention... so the silly song it back to the attention and then continue with the story...so we...if we watch it with our friends family and such need to make it a point that we explain the stories

You really don't think Satan can make something appear godly? Satan is an angel of light. His entire existence revolves around making sin look appealing and godly. knivesl and that is why they (the creaters of vegietales) made it a point that larry's songs were silly songs... in the cheeseburger episode that is the one where they made the point to "Stop being so silly" it is our jobs to make sure that kids understand the meaning of the show... the reason they (the creators) throw those silly songs in there is because kids have short attention spans and they need to redraw their attention... so the silly song it back to the attention and then continue with the story...so we...if we watch it with our friends family and such need to make it a point that we explain the stories But the issue is, some nonchristian parents will sit their kids down and not explain it, and think they're doing the right thing. So that rules out the explanation. Also, God didn't need animated silly songs to teach kids for thousands of years, why is it a necessity all of a sudden? Because we're lazy.

Because we're lazy. i can sit down and teach kids the same way Jesus did however even Jesus didnt have a chacne to talk to every child in the area... so now we have technology to get across a message that is true and just... im sure Jesus would have used it if he had it 2000+ years ago...the only problem being it would have been way to ahead of its time... so technology is a tool...it is entertainment... it is fun... Kids now think different then they did back then due to the corupted nature of our strongly oppressed society

knivesl Kids now think different then they did back then due to the corupted nature of our strongly oppressed society Let me say this one more time: Just because you think you''re being oppressed doesn''t mean that you are. It''s not like the Christian message is being suppressed in the Western World, you know.

It's not like the Christian message is being suppressed in the Western World, you know. I concurr that the word "oppressed" is thrown around way too loosely these days. It's almost to the point that the oppressors are feeling oppressed by the responsibility of oppressing others, and need some kind of oppressor councelling to deal with the stress. it's rediculous, and the sole reason that health care costs so much. Everyone's a victim, no one is responsible for their own actions, and every disagreement is some kind of censorship.

Everyone's a victim, no one is responsible for their own actions, and every disagreement is some kind of censorship. Persecution complexes do seem to be the 'in' thing these days, yes. I think it's a consequence of the general trend (especially in the United States) to define oneself more in terms of what sets them apart from the rest of society rather than in terms of what they have in common. As such each group becomes a minority (even when they really aren't) that is being 'oppressed' by a monolithic group of 'others'. Also, the seemingly inborn litigiousness of the American people probably has something to do with it.
