Here's how it works.

Every day (ideally) you start out with 100 Stamina and 0 Fatigue.

As you work during the day, you lose Stamina. Using tools takes Stamina. Picking up things such as weeds, crops, flowers, etc. does not.

Once your Stamina hits 0, every time you use a tool, you gain Fatigue. Once your Fatigue hits 100, you faint and end up in the hospital. 3nodding (At least if we're talking about all the games except the AWL series. 3nodding )

Hope that clears it up. 3nodding

Oooh ok. That makes sense. So how do I know once I'm out of Stamina, and into the Fatigue? And does eating the food from the guy that runs the stand at the beach heal me at all?

At different points, you'll be reminded by your character's actions what your stamina is at.

Once you reach 50% Stamina, you'll pull out a handkerchief and wipe your brow.

At 25% Stamina, you'll stop and pant for a minute (I think; can't remember exactly).

At about 5% Stamina, you'll sit on the ground. Use a regular tool 5 more times or do a Mystrile charged attack once, and you'll reach...

0% Stamina in which you turn blue and fall on the ground, then get back up.

Keep going, and you'll reach your Fatigue points, which are:

At 50% Fatigue, you'll hold your head and shake it.

At 99% Fatigue, your whole body will turn blue, and the music will sound warbly. One more action will cause you to faint and end up in the hospital. I suggest taking a dip in the hot spring for an hour or taking a Turbojolt XL and then going straight to bed when this happens. If you go to bed in this condition, there's a good chance you won't restore full Stamina the next day, or you might even get sick or oversleep.

All of this is the system for Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town, as well as DS (I believe). The other games use a different system, but all the games will warn your of your character's Stamina and Fatigue issues through your character's actions.

Also, in M/FoMT, if you have an item called the Gem of Truth, you can see the numerical values of your Stamina and Fatigue. 3nodding DS has a similar item you can buy from the Casino.

And yes, eating any kind of food or taking medicine does heal your stamina and/or fatigue. It depends on the food/medicine what and how much it will heal.

After I got the kitchen, I've been making food like crazy. (The DS game)
I make a lot of Curry Noodles.
To make Curry Noodles, cook one flour and one curry together in a pot.
Curry Noodles restores 60 stamina.

I also like to make Wild Grape Wine.
To make Wild Grape Wine, you cook one Purple Grass, one Wild Grape and one Wine together in a pot.
Drinking the Wild Grape Wine will restore 40 fatigue.

I hope this helps smile
