Okay ladies and gentlemen, it's organization time! With the advice from Sayuri-chan and Mahika-san, we have decided to put up profiles of the geisha, maiko, patron and danna. I put all geisha/maiko into 5 different okiya. If everyone could please post the following form, that'd be really great:

All beginners to the guild must be patron (male) or maiko (female) first. After being apprenticed to a higher-ranked Geisha, a maiko may apply to become a geisha. The only conditions for her becoming one is that 1 patron must have called upon the maiko for at least 10 separate times or 2 patron may have called for the maiko 5 times each...and so on and so on. After this has been done, a ceremony will be done in the okiya for the maiko to become a geisha. If the maiko has not already taken her test, she will be required to take her test. Maiko who have taken their test may temporarily go to another okiya if their sister is in that okiya. That covers it all, I guess.

Male characters may not become geisha, only patron. Female characters may become either, though it is preferred that you choose maiko.

i could make threads in various forums advertising for girls and patrons/men to join if they are interested. I was wondering if we had any sort of....requirements to join. Like to prove that the girls/boys are interested in seriously persuing the guild, and that they know at least something about the flower and willow world. Cause the last thing we need is some boys coming here and acting inapproriate surprised I also got an idea that new girls should be put on a sort of probation like real maiko, go thru minarai and such. Any new members have to understand the 'rules' too, like how to behave

-Character Background: Yumea is from a small town outside of Kanto. She has since come here after her teacher was killed. Only 15, she always has a smile and has a great singing talent.

i was wondering if perhaps we should explain the differenced between some things like an okiya and an ochaya (teahouse) and the fact that geisha are not waitresses, we entertain, not serve food and drink. An okiya is a private home were geisha and maiko live, you can not just walk in unannoucned. An Ochaya is also slightly slightly private, but there you come to have a party with geisha, food may or may not be served. Ochaya in kyoto do not normaly serve food and if they do it is ordered out to the patrons expense. Tokyo's Ryotei are also high class restuarants and food is more likely to be served. 3nodding
