Warm, cozy, it was hard to move from his spot, but he was wide away. Beside him was the form of his love, the first one he ever had and finally obtained. He was glad to be with Tajwar, her pups all grown and on their own. Their father gone off so who was left for her to love and be loved back? The seer was glad to take that position if it meant it made her happy.
He had awoken earlier just to watch her sleep, to assure that she was safe. The den was full of the scent of the female, the faint scent of her family, and now his own. It was hard to tell what was going on anymore when it came to them. Usu knew that he loved her and cared deeply for. Knowing that his father was also in this area as well, he was unsure if he could keep that from her much longer. He knew little of him but the dreams and thoughts of him. That dark smudge was nothing compared to his time with Taj. Blue eyes glanced over her once before resting his head down beside her.
“Usu, it’s creepy when you do that.”
Taj smiled and yawned, flashing her teeth. Her dark eyes narrowed as she blinked a few times and settled herself comfortably beside the gray wolf. She was happy, a lot happier than she was before. Turning her gazed to him she chuckled and licked his muzzle.
“I’m only kidding, why are you awake so early?”
She asked with flicking ears, her tail settling at her side, as if to keep her warm.
"Really? I thought it was more of a gesture of affection," he chuckled, nuzzling her neck softly. "I only wake up because I wanted to make sure you were here, could you blame a guy for being paranoid?"
His tail wagged a little before resting down beside her. He licked her softly before nuzzling her. It was these sorts of mornings that he looked forward to each day. After his pupil ran away, it seemed that he learned more than he could with him. The wolf knew his whereabouts and he was doing just fine, he just has the reputation as a hated wolf of how rough he treated him. Perhaps that method was wrong, but he was alone now with his mate.
"Have a good sleep?"

I slept well.”
Taj smiled as she spoke, resting her head against her paws. She slept so well in fact, she had forgotten what today was. Today was the day the she would tell Usu about her though, about how she wanted to start a family with him.
Tilting her head some the female sighed and smiled weakly at him, before speaking.
“Usu, I needed to talk to you about something.”
"That's good to hear,"
He murred softly, licking her head again, grooming her to an extent where it did not become bothersome. He was glad that he did not distrupt her sleep. He had a habit of fidgeting some times according to Dumu. The seer carefully stretched out there with a soft whine before exhaling again.
"What is it?"
he asked, smiling before pressing his nose against hers quickly. A peck.
"I wanted to know what you thought about something.”
She chimed and giggled at his actions. He always knew how to get her mind off of all the worry in the world. Her ears pinned backwards some as she whimpered and spoke out.
“What If I told you that I wanted to start a family with you. Pups.”
Her eyes narrowed as she gazed at him softly, unaware of how he would react.

The giggle was the first thing that he caught. It made him smile that he could make her do that with the small things he did. He liked to be able to make her laugh, that oh so cute and adorable laugh, her giggle was of equal value. It was when her ears pinned back that he slowly faded to a bit of worry.
"You... you want to have a family with me?"
The question was a quick blow to him. One, he thought about having pups with another female. He almost did with yet another. But this? He had always wanted this from her, but he never knew if she would ever be willing. He wanted to wait, hell, he would have waited forever until she spoke about it. The first reaction was his tail, wagging frantically behind them. Next was his eyes that glew a wonderful blue color of happiness, and his grin.
"Oh, Taj, I would love to!"
He licked her again and again before slowing down into a soft nuzzle. He was jumping the gun assuming she asked if he had wanted to. No, she said what if. He nuzzled her softly with a murr.
"I would be honored if you would want a family with me..."
“Really?”
She laughed again, smiling at how happy he was. She wasn’t sure as to how he would react at first. Her dark eyes lit up as she nuzzled him before he stood up.
“Do you think you can handle being a father?”
She wanted to make sure; her last lover went away and left her with most of the puppies and all of the work. She needed to know he would be there with her, like a good father should be.
“If you think you can do this, then I would like to spend the rest of my days with you and our family."
"Taj... when would I ever leave you? I felt horrible that I left you and Ses before, though I think he would have ripped me apart if I tried to get close to you then," he chuckled. "But he is not here... I am, I promise you that I won't leave you again."
He nuzzled her again, his tail wagging ever so slightly after that rather serious reply, but he could not contain it for too long. Being the first female he had loved, only when he gathered the courage to tell her how he felt, it was already too late. Perhaps now was his second chance at a happy life. Perhaps this is what his birthmark meant.
"I can be a good father... I have taken care of many and I will have you with me. There is no feeling more comforting and consoling than knowing I am right next to the one I love.”
