Dear__________,
We are glad to inform you that have been invited to join us this year at our prestigous academy, whether this is your first time reading this letter or your second or third, we welcome you with open arms. For those who have been with us before know that they've been endowed with delightful gifts, for those who haven't maybe you still don't know what we're talking about. You may have noticed recently that you're feeling a little less like yourself or maybe you're feeling complete for the first time, it's different for everyone. Despite your knowledge you're very special and we're here to show you exactly why. You may toss this aside as some sort of scam but, you know we're right, if you have any questions write them on the back of this letter and we think you might believe us even more. We hope you'll join us this school year, we looking forward to teaching you.
Those who doubted did as the letter said they took a pen, pencil, whatever writing utensil they had next to them at the moment and wrote a question on the back and as they pondered on how to send the letter back, their question dissolved and an anwser appeared on the back, after all questions had been answered, the letter said this.
"Now that we are clear do you wish to attend Laurel's Academy this year?" There's an awkward silence as you respond yes on the back of the letter. You answer dissapears and the Letter reads something else. "Then pack your bags once you're ready place your signature on the back of this paper and youl'' be officially enrolled in Laurel's Academy and transported there imediately. Your parents will understand, we'll see to it, you have nothing to worry about."
After your luggage is set you return to the staionary that is now all but blank except for a line awaiting your signature. You scrawl your name along the line and wonder how exactly are you going to get to this school, but before your thoughts are finished you find yourself in the midst of a elegant stairwell, in a large room filled with marble pillars. This was Laurel's Academy.

Powers: Ice Manipulation; Able to bend and create ice at her will. Used to make weapons, shields, and ice puppets.
Personality: Behind a somewhat quiet and sweet appearance, Cross is a bit strange. Laid back, relaxed, and full of pride, she resembles her father a bit too much. Hiding a sarcastic attitude in her mind, she speaks only when necessary and tries her best to not be offensive. The only thing she got from her mother was her strong will and love for music and liturature.

Bio: Coming from a household with her parents and two older siblings, Cross has the normal 'I want to be different' sort of feeling. Her parents attention seemed to be going to her siblings instead of her, but it didn't bother her. Reaching her teen years, she started to rebel against her family. Though she was young, it was hard having someone always speaking back to you. The invitation to the school was just what she and her family needed. When her parents found out about her powers, they didn't really mind, and were glad that she could go to a place to help train and gain control of them. Excited and worried, Cross left for school for the first time at the age of 13. Personality: Caden is usually a great optimist, she is very free-spirited and adventurous. Her strongest quality by far is probably her bravery, followed by her ability to always seem friendly. Caden is also into very old fashioned things such as classical music, painting, and even her clothing is a little old fashioned, but that's just how she likes it.

Bio:Caden was born in Germany as an only child in a high class family who ran a large company with factories set-up all over Europe. She enjoyed simple things such as classical music, drawing, and her favorite television programs. Her mother was always away in some third world country because she worked on improving lives, housing the homeless feeding the hungry, and helping the helpless. Caden admired her mother's work, but she never really had time for her because she was always away. Her father was always in a business meeting so all she really had as friends when she got home were the workers in the home. So she first started to notice her powers when she was twelve. It was fall and her parents were miraculously home in the same night, finally a family dinner like they showed on all of her television shows, too bad it doesn't work like that. She listened the entire dinner to arguments, things that meant absolutely nothing to her, she wished they'd just be quiet and enjoy dinner. But the noise just got louder until everything came to a sudden silence. Caden opened her eyes she had been squinting shut for the past 5 minutes, her mother ran her hand across her lips and her father's mouth moved but no words were emitted. She took in the moment of silence and then opened her own mouth, she said, "speak." and the eerie silence disappeared and her father's voice was heard again. Without another word she excused herself from the table and ran to her room. Over the next 2 years she began developing her gift in secret. She was ecstatic she was just like the super heroes off of t.v. Soon she found she could mimic voices and sounds in a perfect copy as well as throw her voice. She used it to pull pranks on the maids, like making it sound like the phone was ringing. Caden loved her powers they amazed her, sure she couldn't catch things on fire, be invisible, or fly, but to her this was the most amazing that had ever happened to her. When she was 15 she received her first letter from Laurel She believed what it said right away and wasted no time in packing and signing her name onto the piece of parchment. Bio: An only child, she rarely saw attention coming her direction. It was pretty odd since most would think her parents would smother her in it for being their only child. Well your wrong. Her mother deemed her a mistake. She was forsaken in the eyes of her father, and shunned from her family. She doesn't like to talk about her family life and acts as if everything is perfectly fine. Bio: Terra was raised in a very conservative family where everything had to be perfect. She's not like that at all. Her rooms and organized mess, and she doesn't believe in the same religion as her parents. She hates the stupid clothes her parents makes her wear, and she has a designated corner in the living room to be 'her' corner. As you can tell, since her life was so structured, and unfitting for her, she couldn't tell her parents how she felt, and she lept at the first chance to leave that dreaded lifestyle. -------------------------------------- 6. Powers: The ability to manipulate yin/yang in a soul or her surroundings, and healing abilities (the more severe an injury, the weaker she becomes afterwards).
Personality: Charismatic and upbeat, outspoken, bouncy, hyper, optimistic, pacifistic, and good humored, though she has her moments of melancholy and bitterness - she would never admit this. Skye hates being sad and hates when other people are sad or injured, so she's self-sacrificing to an extent - but she's also very protective and vengeful if someone she cares about is hurt. While she'll sooner take a beating than let someone else get pummeled, she's not above fighting back if there's no other way.
Dorm: Valteri - 13
Bio: Skye came from a large family - with 4 older siblings and 3 younger siblings, she came off as the forgotten middle child, swept aside for more pressing matters, like her parents inching towards splitting up. So, assuming the role of Peacekeeper, Skye devoted herself to keeping people happy, and keeping as much pain as possible from her family as she could. In the process, she neglected her own desires, and tried to use her power to reverse the negative energy in her home...but because she was unprepared, things only ended up getting worse. Her parents began a bitter and somewhat violent divorce, and her siblings were split up. The older ones were allowed to stay with friends, but the younger ones were sent into foster care - Skye herself was sent to one. Resigning to fate, Skye decided that it would be best to attend the Academy she'd read about in a mysterious letter - maybe while she was there, she could learn to use her power more efficiently, and bring her family back together, so they could be happy like they used to be. {Teachers}

Personality: Emmett is friendly and social in a large group of people but with only one or two other people is probably the quietest of the group. He directs all conversation away from himself and would rather the world go by than do something. For the most part Emmett's pretty laid back, anddoesn't normally hold a grudge against anyone for anything.

Bio:Emmett was born in Indianna as the oldest child in a family of 6; his mom, dad, his younger brother, his younger sister, and himself. They were pretty much the average family, living in a two story house in Pleasant Valley plat. Emmett had his own little group of friends he grew up with in the neighborhood, who he knew were always there well they were up until the little falling out that happened in their last year of middle school. His best friend seemed to have turned everyone against him after Kelsey broke her arm in a truth or dare game gone horribly wrong. He hadn't meant for Kelsey to get hurt, but that's only what caused the argument. What happened during the argument is what really caused problems. The argument got so heated him and Hunter had actually started throwing punches, Emmett got so mad, angrier than he had ever been he felt his eyes sting and as he looked up at his former friend to hit again, Hunter stopped dead in his tracks and collapsed. Emmett froze as well he didn't know what was going on, Hunter wouldn't move. Most of the group ran they called the ambulance and they took him away from the hospital, the doctors didn't know what was wrong, and there was no way the fight could have caused the sudden catatonic state, in which Hunter now found himself in. It was an awkward year and Emmett seemed to ge pissed at everything. But when kids tried to pick a fight with him at school, the strange incident happened more and more, some just temporarily paralyzed for a few minutes or hours depending on how mad he was. Some only lost feeling to their hands or feet. Slowly he began to learn how to control these spurts of anger so that he didn't hurt anyone, just stopped them from attacking. When he turned 15 he had nearly mastered this power, he was even getting closer to figuring out how to stop the affect of his powers, but just he was on the verge of a breakthrough, another problem came up, Focre fields. He honestly couldn't get close to anyone anymore, without thinking they'd pushed violently away. It took another year to figure out the trick for the fields. When he turned 16 they moved a small remote town in Arkansas to get away from the bustling city where everyone seemed to know everything about Emmett, he made another small group of friends and tried to start over in his sophmore year of high school. There were still some awkard moments but nothing seemed to be going horribly wrong. But the day he recieved the invitation to attand Laurel's it was slightly to tempting to turn away, maybe they could teach him a little more self-control after all his best friend was still in a coma, in Indianna and he'd really like for him to come out of it. Without a word to his parents his younger sister Helena was the only one who knew he was leaving. He grabbed his bag from his bed and scrawled his name along the line and before he could tell Helena good-bye he dissapeared from sight.{Teachers}None yet

A large smirk pasted itself onto Cross' face as she looked at the oh-so-familiar room. The feeling of nostalgia crept into her and she embraced it. A black bag was slung over her shoulder, and her black shoes made soft steps as she walked up the stairs, reaching into the pocket of her black cargo pants, she pulled out a key, holding it by the silver ring. Twirling it around her finger, she wondered who her roommate would be this year. Mini snowflakes formed when she twirled the key, bursting into microscopic water droplets in mere seconds after they appeared.

Walking into his dorm Terrance sits his things down on his bed. Unpacking he sits on a chair next to a desk. I guess I should enjoy this privacy until I get a roommate. There's nothing to do here, so I guess i'll go and look around the school. Leaving his dorm he walks outside and looks at what the campus had to offer.

Looking over her shoulder, she mentally kicked herself. "Hey, Cross," she replied quickly, noticing the key in the girl's grasp. Reaching back, she opened up her bag and stuffed the key into the pocket, zipping it closed. Letting her arm drop back to her side she gave the girl a small smile. "I'm sorry, but..." she started, pursing her lips in thought. It wasn't like she disliked people, but the first day was more of a day for herself to get reunited back with the school instead of the other students. People did say that she was weird, stand offish, and what not, but she brushed them all off. "I'm headed for the library, to you know, touch up on some things." Bowing, she brushed past the other girl, picking up her pace a bit. It wasn't like she lied or anything, since she had truthfully forgotten all she had learned over the break. Turning down a few halls, she found herself at the doors, pushing them open. Walking in, the cold air felt welcoming as it surrounded her. Going to a desk in the back, she dropped her bag off her shoulder, going to the shelves. This school was the best, in her opinion, and had thousands of books that peaked her love of reading. Grabbing a few that she covered in classes from the previous years, she placed them on the desk, sliding into the chair. Pulling the one that she needed the most, in golden letters the words 'Mystery's of Magic' inscribed on the cover. Opening it, she sighed, disliking the thought of science and history mashed together into a book.

Kiara blinked but didn't really mind, after all, she felt kind of the same way. She climbed one of the grand staircases up to the third floor and found her dorm. Unlocking the door she went inside, standing shocked at the magnificent room. It was unlike any other dorm that she knew, for one thing, it was larger, and just better. She set down her bag, unsure of what to do, might as well get used to it, Kiara told herself, and pulled out The Handbook for the Advanced Spellcaster.
