Bareth was a nation that was at the wrong place at the wrong time. They formed right about when Gardueo was formed... And decided to take the land right next to them. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but fate seemed to be working against Bareth. In only a few decades, Gardueo's population was twice that of Bareth's. As is known by all people on the continent, Gardueo's population was out of control, and the only way to contain it was to either kill off people or take more land. When kindly (Which was rare for Gardueo's leaders) asked by the king of Gardueo for more land, Bareth rejected the offer. Sure they weren't using it yet, but eventually they would need it, right?
This was, of course, before Gardueo had gotten it's reputation for starting wars. Only a few months after Bareth had rejected the offer, thousands of Garduian soldiers appeared in Bareth. The king had suspected it would happen, be he wasn't completely sure. He at least had some defense, and in a very lucky turn of events in battles Bareth won, sending Gardueo running back home. They were never asked again for land, instead they were always attacked without warning. Wars became so frequent that when kids were told stories of the war as they were young, when they grew up the attacks were no surprise to them. The people of Bareth's fate is simple: Either keep wining the wars, or become extinct.
