PARA-I Squad

Gaia Name: demothewiz
Character Name: Acisallin Wolffang (AKA Ace)
Race: Elf
Age: 35
Classes: Ronin Samurai, Fire Shugenja
Weapons: Daisho
Familiar/Mount: Ren, a screech owl
Personality: Although disgraced by the death of his daimio, Ace still follows the Bushido code. He is very loyal to those he trusts, and would do anything in his power to protect their lives.
History: Ace was born in a hidden elven village, and grew up with his sister Angel and his childhood friend Farelle. Soon, he was chosen to protect the daimio of the land as a samurai. However, there soon came a day when his village learned that there was a dark elven army mobilizing against them, lead to the hidden village by a traitor of the village and an old rival of Ace's, Chrisalis. As Chrisalis and the dark elves moved toward the village, the women, children, and elderly were ordered to be evacuated to another village. As Ace said goodbye to Farelle, he promised to one day marry her when the danger had passed, and entrusted Angel to look after his promised fiancé. That night, Ace's daimio was attacked by assassins hired by the daimio of a neighboring land. When it was found that Ace had not been there to protect his daimio, he was disgraced by his samurai brethren and was declared a ronin. That night, he nearly commited seppuku, but remembered at the last moment his promise to Farelle. He had to follow through on his promise to marry her, lest he be disgraced even more. So he joined the battle to defend his village from Chrisalis and the dark elves, but during the battle, he was knocked unconcious by a blow from Chrisalis. He awoke to find his village destroyed, and the Elder of the High Council of the village dying. With his dying breath, the Elder told Ace that Farelle and Angel were in danger, and that he must find them quickly. So Ace set out for the village that those unable to fight had been evacuated to, but when he reached the village, he found it burnt to the ground and littered with the bodies of the fallen. However, Farelle and Angel were not among the fallen, so Ace decided that they had probably fled to the next village. So Ace travelled from village to village, following the trail of death and destruction left by Chrisalis and the dark elves, until he found his way to a human village that had not been destroyed. When he asked about his sister and his promised fiancé, he learned that they had in fact been through the village, and set out on a boat to the Western lands. So Ace stowed aboard the next ship to the Western Continent, then continued to follow the trail left by Farelle and Angel. The trail soon lead him to a village overrun by the undead, where he met the PARA-I Squad, a group of people hired by the Duke of the land to destroy the undead menace and anyone who might be behind it. Hearing of their plight, Ace decided to lend a hand, knowing that he could not make it through the village on his own without falling victim to the undead horde.
Appearance: Ace has green eyes and brown hair tied back into a samurai's chonmage. He wears gold samurai's armor. Because of his elven lineage, he looks to be the same age as a 20-year-old human.

Gaia Name:
Character Name: Vladimur Constantinos
Race: Human
Age: 24
Classes: Rogue, Fighter
Weapons: Crossbow, Longsword
Familiar/Mount: N/A
Personality: Vladimur is enigmatic and mysterious, though he is a loyal companion. He doesn't like the fact that the Gothic Council, otherwise known as "The Mamas", have assigned him Katal as an assistant, but he would never disobey an order from them.
History: Vladimur's history is as enegmatic as he is, but it is known that he is a Gothic Knight, a branch of the Gothic Council that does most of the field work. Vladimur was ordered by The Mamas to join the PARA-I Squad and lend them his expertise. Vladimur is an expert in paranormal knowledge, as if he has had many first-hand experiences with it. Vladimur is from the city of Gothica, a cursed city where the sun never rises because of a spell cast many years ago by a vengeful sorceror. (This spell was actually cast on accident. The sorceror intended to destroy the city that very night, so before going into battle, he cried out as loud as he could, "By Artemis' will, the sun shall never again rise over this city!" Though the sorceror was defeated, the gods heard his words before the battle and mistook them for a command, so the sun never rised again over the city.)
Appearance: Vladimur wears the black armor of a Gothic Knight, with a long flowing black mantle over his shoulders. Because he has spent most of his life in a city that is in eternal night, and is not used to the harsh light of the sun, during the day he wears a pair of glasses that have been tinted black by dyes.

Gaia Name:
Character Name: Fury Valdera
Race: Half-Elf
Age: 21
Classes: Sorceress, Druid (Specializing in Transmutation)
Weapons: Staff
Familiar/Mount: A rather large, obsidian-black mountain lion named Midnight.
Personality: Fury is a force to be reckoned with, especially when she gets mad. She is very knowledgable about magic and sorcery, and her knowledge of the paranormal sometimes matches Vladimur's. Her favorite spell to cast is Firestorm She is especially loyal to her lover Renset.
History:Fury and Renset are adventurers who love delving into the realms of the unknown and supernatural.
Appearance: Fury has flaming red hair and hazel eyes. She wears a black corset top and a lacy black miniskirt under a long red hooded cloak.

Gaia Name:
Character Name: Renset Black
Race: Human
Age: 22
Classes: Barbarian, Fighter
Weapons: Spiked club
Familiar/Mount: Renset not need one.
Personality: Renset very loyal to Fury. Renset give anything to protect Fury. Renset would even give his life to protect Fury.
History: Renset known Fury since Renset and Fury toddlers. Renset save Fury from goblin who wanted kill and eat Fury.
Appearance: Renset big. Renset strong. Renset's hair black. Renset's eyes blue. Renset not have much, only blue jeans and spiked club. Jeans and club not let Renset down yet. Renset give everything else he find to Fury.

Gaia Name:
Character Name: Katal Lightfoot
Race: Halfling
Age: 25
Classes: Cleric, Monk
Weapons: His fists
Familiar/Mount: A Hawk named Kotos.
Personality: Katal is very excitable, congratulating Vladimur on nearly every action he performs, even when it's as simple as making a decision. Katal also loves to climb tall things, such as trees, buildings, and rock formations, usually making monkey-like noises as he climbs.
History: It is said that one of Katal's ancestors may have been a monkey spirit in halfling form, which would probably explain the noises he makes as he's climbing. Katal joined the Gothic Healers after he was old enough, and has been assigned to assist Vladimur by The Mamas, much to the dismay of Vladimur
Appearance:Katal has brown hair and brown eyes, and wears a black cloak as long as he is. He may not look strong, but when he throws his cloak back off his shoulder, this is when he gets ready to use his monk training. He can unleash furious aerial combos and acrobatics, and often uses his smaller size to his advantage.

Gaia Name:
Character Name: Sphinx Lionhart
Race: Human
Age: 55
Classes: Paladin, Fighter
Weapons: Broadsword
Familiar/Mount: A Pegasus named... Pegasus
Personality: Sphinx is very set on morals, often scolding the rest of the squad when they do wrong, but would never betray them to the authorities for anything less than a felony.
History: Sphinx started his training as a Paladin squire at a very early age, and soon earned his knighthood. He was awarded his Pegasus mount in reward for valor and bravery in a battle against Deviotia's master, Oranolus. He slew Oranolus, but soon word reached him that the necromancer's apprentice, Deviotia, was causing mayhem. He joined with the PARA-I Squad to confront Deviotia.
Appearance:Sphinx has blonde hair and green eyes, and wears the white and blue armor of a Paladin, with a sky blue mantle over his shoulders.

Deviotia and Her Minions

Character Name: Deviotia
Race: Human
Age: 23
Classes: Thrall of Orcus, Sorceress (Specializing in Necromancy)
Weapons: Staff of Corruption
Familiar/Mount: Klepto, a Raven
Personality: Deviotia is evil incarnate, practicing such sins as necromancy, cultism, masochism, sadism, and many others too horrible to mention. Deviotia is very protective of her creations, and hates it when they are destroyed. Thus, she watches the battle whenever she can from her tower high atop the castle at the center of the city she has taken over. When she is otherwise "occupied," she usually sends either Klepto or Carnacus out to watch for her. She is especially loving of these two, and her apprentice Dementia. She is continuously searching for a shapeshifting spell to turn Klepto into a humanoid, though for the moment, Carnacus is her current "plaything".
History: Deviotia was taught the art of necromancy and the proper way to worship Orcus, Lord of the Undead, by Oranolus, and apprenticed under him for many years. During the battle with the Paladins, she fled and laid low until she thought it safe, then immediately took over a city and claimed the castle at the center as her own, taking refuge high atop the tallest tower.
Appearance: Deviotia has unnaturally pale blue eyes and long silver hair, and dresses in a sheer gray drape wrapped around her not at all modestly, and black undergarments.

Gaia Name:
Character Name: Carnacus
Race: Vampire (Human base creature)
Age: Unknown, looks to be in his mid 30's
Classes: Fighter, Barbarian
Weapons: His teeth, Longsword
Familiar/Mount: N/A (He is able to change into bat form, though.)
Personality: Carnacus is easily angered and very jealous of anyone who gets near Deviotia, especially Klepto, whom she seems to love more than him. Carnacus would never disobey Deviotia, but as he is usually given free roam of the castle when he is not "occupying" Deviotia, he often causes mischief. He is also a bit of a pervert, taking any women's "clothing" he might find as his own. It is unknown what he does with said "clothing", though he has often been caught sniffing various articles.
History: Carnacus' history as a human is unknown, as is much of his history as a vampire, however, it is known that Orcus commanded him to serve under Oranolus. When it became clear that Oranolus could not win against the Paladin army, Oranolus commanded Carnacus to take his apprentice Deviotia and flee. Carnacus did as he was ordered, and when Oranolus died, Carnacus was ordered by Orcus to protect Deviotia and follow her every command.
Appearance: Carnacus has blood red eyes and black hair, and when he is in full dress, he wears a red button-down shirt and black slacks, with a black cape thrown over his shoulders. However, he is more often spotted in only a pair of black boxers. He always wears a spiked collar with a lead attached, which Deviotia ordered him to wear at all times, even though she rarely holds the other end of the lead when he is not "occupying" her.

Gaia Name:
Character Name: Dementia
Race: Human
Age: 15
Classes: Thrall of Orcus, Sorceress (Specializing in Necromancy)
Weapons: Tome of Darkness
Familiar/Mount: Shadow, a black cat
Personality: Dementia is extremely devoted to her mistress, Deviotia. Although Deviotia raised her, she thinks of Deviotia more as a teacher than as a mother. Dementia can often be found in the castle's library, looking for the shapeshifting spell to turn Klepto humanoid. Dementia is always willing to learn new things, and always puts every effort into her studies.
History: Dementia was kidnapped from her family at the age of 2 by Deviotia, who raised her as her own, and trained her as an apprentice. Dementia has yet to upset Deviotia or disobey her.
Appearance: Dementia was born with hazel eyes, but they turned an ooze green from her frequent usage of necromancy. Her hair is black, and she wears the same style of clothing as Deviotia, except she wears a sheer gray cloak instead of the drape Deviotia wears.

Lesser monsters
Zombies: The true term used to describe this undead creature is ghoul, but zombie is the most used term. These lumbering creatures are slow, but often travel in groups of at least three, if not dozens or even hundreds.
Skeletons: These are undead warriors who have dwelt in the realm of the dead for so long that all their flesh has rotted off their bones. They are often extremely angered at being disturbed from their rest, and take this anger out on any human they see.
Vampires: These creatures are bloodsucking fiends, holding hypnotic powers of mid strength. Most were sired by Carnacus, but some are under orders from Orcus to follow every order he or Deviotia give.
Hungry Spirits: These are restless souls from beyond the grave. These spirits need astral energy to stay in the realm of the living, and they feed off whatever they can find. Invisible until the second they attack, these beings paralyze their victims and move in for the kill, draining their astral energy. Their victims become more and more tired as their energy is drained, and if the spirit continues to feed, the victim could possibly be drained of all their astral energy and thus pass on to the realm of the dead.
Human Slaves: These are living people under the mind control of Deviotia, and they follow every order given by Deviotia or one of her underlings.

Greater Monsters
These are a secret for now, but will be revealed as the story progresses. Trust me, they're good.

The rules are pretty simple to follow. I don't ask for much, just that you follow them.

1 Please be literate in all your posts. My friend Gina explained it best when she said:



So there you have it.

2 Please remember to follow all Gaia TOS and all guild rules. That means no cybering and no excessive swearing (a little bit from time to time is okay, but not every other word). Remember, there are kids who get on here, so let's keep it clean.

3 No godmodding or power playing. If you attack someone, you can't just automatically say the attack hit, as that leaves no room for the person to react in the way they want to. Say you swung your sword or fired an arrow at them, as this gives them room to dodge or block or parry or even take the hit. This rule applies to monsters as well, as I will be roleplaying the parts of most of the monsters. You also can't block every single attack that comes at you from another roleplayer, take a few hits, it adds more drama to the RP. Noone likes to see a boring fight where the hero dodges every single attack, even Neo in The Matrix Trilogy gets hit alot. Seeing the hero injured makes the audience gasp out of fear, like, "Oh my god, is he going to be okay? Is the bad guy gonna win?" So take a few hits, then you can be all dramatic, like "ARRRGGH!!! You ruined my dress with that attack!!! Now you're gonna die!!!"

4 From time to time, if you take a premade character, I may PM you about plot points I think are crucial to the story. It's your choice whether to post something I tell you to or not, but I ask that you please post these plot points, as they develop the story.
