Last night, me and two friends (and their families) went to an amusement park called Carowinds. But since it was near halloween, they dressed it all up and called it Scarowinds!!! I went into 6 haunted houses that were pretty ********, and 3 roller coaster which rocked my world.

The houses:

1. Alien Elimination:
It was our first houses, so we were all scared to go first. Once we got through the gate, we ended up on a path in the woods. Since there were lots of fog machines, it was nearly impossible to see where we were going. Out of the fog, people dressed in creepy alien outfits jumped at us and stomped the ground with special shoes to make it really loud. Then came a part when we went through a dark tunnel... Fake spider webs were hanging down, so every few steps you walked into one. Finally, we finished it up and headed to the next house.

2. Final Summoning:
This was probably one of the scariest houses. After the long line, our group went inside the building. People jumped out behind every corner. They were dressed up as the scariest zombies I've ever seen. At once point, there was a bright yellow light beaming at our eyes. While we were blinded for a second, somebody jumped out from the corner of the room under the light, so it looked like they came out of nowhere. Near the exit, a zombie girl was following me, saying: "Play with me!" Over and over. Then my dad says: "I think she likes you."

3. Dead Inn
This haunted house was not too scary, and not too lame. Of course, around every corner, people with blood all over their chests jumped out. Then, they got creative when they added the Inn Rooms. Once the first room passed, a second one was right around the corner. It looked the same as the first... and that's how they got creative. What looked like a mirror on the wall was actually a hole (since both rooms looked the same, it appeared as a reflection) and a man in a hockey mask popped out through it. I screamed really loud.

4. Slaughter House
This was probably the scariest one. Inside, it was playing the Saw theme song. As we walked around, there were tons of fake body parts: on shelves, on hooks, and a lot on the walls. There were many people pretending to be dead bodies, and when we walked by, the got up and chased us. Then came the strobe light rooms. Oh my god... those gave me a headache! It was hard to walk strait, and there was bodies on the sides of the rooms. Plus, the additional people trying to scare us with chains, hooks, and severed heads. At the end, we thought it was over, but a man with a chainsaw chased us out.

5. Dream Factory
I didn't think this one was too scary. It was mainly just people jumping out. But, there was one particular good part. There was a wolf-man holding a body, and after about 5 seconds, water shot out (it left a stain on my moms shirt) and it pulled the bodies head off with it's spine. While our attention was diverted to that, a man jumped out from behind us and scared the living crap out of me.

6. Vampire Woods
I have to say, this was the lamest one. Throughout the "woods" there were a bunch of vampires that jumped out. None of them really scared me. But just like that, we were at the end. But which was really upsetting, there was a girl walking around saying "Boo" like she didn't even care. It wasn't even loud. It was almost a whisper.

The Coasters:

1. Runaway Reptar
Since my best friend is afraid of big coasters, we went on this little one to get him settled. It was based on the Reptar from Rugrats. You know that weird green reptile they play with? Anyway, the line was about 15 minutes. Once we were strapped in, it took off. Like most coasters, it goes up a hill in the beginning. It wasn't to huge, but it was fine. After the hill, it pretty much went up mini hills, and then it was done. The whole ride was only about 45 seconds. It wasn't worth the wait.

2. Thunder Road
I liked this one a lot. It was a classic wooden coaster ride. The line was about 30 minutes, worth every second. Me and my friend, Deric, sat next to each other. The ride started off by going around the corner, through a tunnel, and up a huge hill. At the top, I could see our car in the parking lot. But before I could get a closer look, it plunged down. The whole ride consisted of the one huge hill, and a lot of hills about half it's size. I screamed the whole time, as it went close to 65 mph.

3. Top Gun
This was my favorite coaster by far. It was a new, steel one. The line was almost an hour, but it was worth the 45 seconds of glory. There were two different coaster running on the same track: one had a bird on it, and the other had a shark on it. Everyone in our group wanted the shark, and we got it. Finally , the moment came! It had the biggest hill out of all three coasters. I could see farther than the parking lot on this one. Just like lightning, the roller coaster fell down the track at 70 mph or more. Then, it went back up and did a loop, came down again and did a few cork screws, then down the rest of the track back into the station.

Over all, I thought it was a really fun experience. Even when we weren't in a haunted house, there were still people jumping at us between rides. There was only one haunted house I didn't go in. It was a creepy circus one, and most of you probably don't know, but I hate clowns. But while we were on Thunder Road, my friend, Kyle, went in. He said it was lame, if you weren't afraid of
clowns.

Update 10/22: I just found out my friend at school's cousin was the chainsaw guy in the Slaughter House!

Inside the Slaughter House, there was a guy throwing a fake head at people (sorta like mine, but different skin) When it was about to hit you, he pulled it back on a string. But when he did it to me, I caught it, and started running away with it rofl
