So my exboyfriends sister was in my car the other day and we were listening to my music. Dimmu Borgir came on and she just looked at me like I had three heads. She then proceeds to say, "Oh I can really fall asleep to this." rolleyes To which I replied, "...Yeah.. I do actually." neutral She then looked at me and laughed. [I dont really care about what she thinks anyways esp when she said that Vreth wasnt good looking. ******** THAT!] Its true though I fall asleep to metal full volume all the time. Im not saying it as a bragging thing but apparently to people that I know this is phenomenon to them. I think falling asleep to something I LIKE has a greater affect then falling asleep to something heavy and fast. I have an easier time falling asleep to metal then I do to slow rhythmic songs that I hate. By the way Im actually falling asleep while making this but I just wanted to ask everybody if they thought that the electric sounds of metals is way soothing and relaxing yet versatile enough to pump you up when you want it to pump you up?

I can pretty much fall asleep to any type of music that I enjoy. That's the key to it though, you tend to have to enjoy the music. I've got favorite types of music that I like to play while trying to sleep. Lumsk is one of my favorites. Rhythmic instrumental music can put to sleep fairly quickly. If I play harder metal, I tend to want to follow along to the music in my head instead of sleeping. I could totally fall asleep to Immortal though if I wanted to. Even Dani Filth's glass shattering screech could put me to sleep like a kitten if that's what I wanted to fall asleep to at the time.
But that b***h needs to be slapped down for denying Vreth.

I fall asleep to metal all the time, but it's harder for me if it's something catchy. Usually the loudest sonic wash I can find, totally devoid of anything catchy or bouncy.
Also, classical music works for me smile

I can sleep to metal song, almost fell asleep under an Immortal concert this easter at the inferno festival, but to my defence it had been a looong day with lots of lots of metal concerts, beer and so had the day before

Prog is good for falling asleep... death metal, not so much. You could get a full night's sleep during one guitar solo.

I fall asleep to Amon Amarth and Iron Maiden. >.> My mom blasts Enya. It gets rather annoying.

I think music in general is nice to fall asleep to. Actually, maybe because I had 3 younger siblings around all the time growing up, I have difficulty falling asleep WITHOUT some kind of noise in the background.

I fall asleep to metal all the time. In fact, that's actually all that I fall asleep to. . .or at least out of music I like. Music that bores me to death works pretty well too. . .but I try not to stray towards boring stuff. I usually fall asleep to Amon Amarth <.< Pretty odd actually. Some people don't understand how I do it. haha

I don't listen to music if I intend to sleep. And if I don't intend to sleep, I don't fall asleep at all. Even if I'm tired as hell.
I could imagine falling asleep to Burzum's Dunkelheit, though.
