...a little confusing now?
Am I the only one who is completely stumped when it comes to personality and everything? I mean, when I was watching "The Beach" episode, some parts, especially that "dramatic" scene on the beach, were like "in character" and some were "way off" in my opinion. Is it just me, or are there actually dramatic shifts in everything? Or is this another intricate twist that the producers schemed to throw me (or us, if anyone else feels the same way) off?
Post your opinions, please! whee

Hmmm. I dunno. I mean, a lot of people are going OMG WTF OUT-OF-CHARACTER. It didn't faze me at aaaaaall.
I think the problem is that people are thinking of the characters, particularly Azula, as one-dimensional.

Several individuals have complained that Azula (in the episode "The Beach") was completely out of character - xD Personally, I thought she was in character the entire time. We haven't really seen her enough to gather that she's completely heartless, etc. When we did see her (for the most part) she was trying to kill/capture Aang - therefore she was focused on that... perhaps when she's really focused on something her personality is altered into something more heartless so she can concentrate easier as opposed to be sidetracked by feelings from the mission at hand...
If that made... ANY sense at all... xD I really didn't know how to word what I had contemplated. If, in reality, this makes no sense to you - please feel free to discard it.

Watching that episode was totally crazy. I couldn't believe what was going on. So much drama and it was all so angst-y. It was different for sure. I hope we get to understand their personalities more.

I don't know. Azula seemed perfectly in character to me. She may be heartless, but it is possible that she still cares about certain things. She manipulated the whole situation at the beach to get back at those guys throwing the party as well. Using the angst of the situation, she lead them to believe that trashing the house would relieve them. And it did. But she was mad at them from the start for not inviting her, and she had her share of revenge. So really, we didn't know any of their past histories, and we just got a deeper look, but everyone was in character.

Most people think Azula was OOC but I hardly think that at all.
Something people always forget. Azula may be a little power hungry and psycho. But she's still a girl in her early teens.

I don't think anyone was OOC personally. Like the old ladies said, Ember Island brings out the true nature of everyone.
Ty Lee does crave attention. Zuko is doubting himself. Azula IS a monster. (lol) Mai is probably a little insecure.
I was just mad that Maiko is once again canon. gonk

But she's still a girl in her early teens. See, that's what bugs me the most. I was that age, and so were my friends... none of us were like that. I'm sick of hearing that as an excuse to any movie/series/book that wants to apply to this kid of story line. stare
