Advance Wars, World In Conflict, Age of Empires, Battalion Wars, Tactics Ogre...

Strategy games are pwnzors. Who likes them? What's your favorite kind? Favorite one? Why?

Like: Yes
Fave kind: Real Time Strategy
Fave one: Battalion Wars
Why: It can double as RTS and TPS, and even though it's a tactics game, it;s not like Age of Empires where it seems like I'm God and I see EVERYTHING that goes on and control every move. I'm in control, but I'm just the Commander of my squad. I'm still one of my men. I'm really no one special in the game. But by the same token, I have COMPLETELY control of my men. I can order everyone, one kind of unit, or one specific person to follow me, stay here, go somewhere, attack, man an MG Nest, get out of the MG Nest, and probably a thousand others I've not even touched upon. Plus I can shift control between each person, but it's not like how it works in some strategy games where you just shift view to another unit, but you still are being god and are just looking at another unit so you can tell him to go do something. But I reiterate, when you switch control you don't just move them around. You are them. That's what I like about it biggrin Though it's probably nothing special, there's probably a bunch of games like that lol

Btw, you don't have to use the format, you can just talk.

Like: Kinda
Fav Kind: Real Time
Fave One: Battalion Wars/LotR: Battle for Middle Earth

Why: Well, Battalion Wars was the First RTS I got into, and I found out that going in gunning=getting your a** whoped. When I actually thought threw what I would do, I found that I could kick a** back, and found myself yelling at the screen when I did.
BfME was different though, I LOVED that dancing flute playing elf.....

I'm pretty excited for FE:RD.
Catgirls+video games+strategy=WIN.
That and I hear from a lot of people that loved Radiant Dawn.
Next, Pikmin, beautiful. *tear in eye*

Well I'm working on getting better, but Starcraft is rising pretty high on my general liking of Video Games. My strategy, though, is definitely Advance Wars. I know people like RTS better, but somehow it seems that Advance Wars makes turn bases strategy work.

Like: pretty well

Favorite type: StrategyRPGs

Favorite: For RPGs it's obviously Final Fantasy Tactics, but for RTS it's Total Annihilation. If anyone knows of that game, you get +40 Respect Points. I'm also a fan of the old school Age of Empires games.

Have you noticed Age of Empires is going through time way too fast? I think the first one took place back in the days of the Roman Empire, then they went to the Mideval Age, and Age of Empires III takes place in the old west. What's next, World War II?!?!

Oooh, I'd buy that.

Actually, the first one starts you off in the Stone Age, and you work your way up through the ages. I'm still waiting for the version of it that let's you advance all the way up to the Concrete Age, or Plastic Age...

Empire Earth already starts with the stone age and ends in the space age on one game.

This Empire Earth game sounds cool. Is it? Is it old? Could I find it for cheap somewhere?
