Eyes: Jade
Hair: Dark like a raven''s wing
Weight: 110 lbs.
Height: 5''5"
Race: Entirely Human

Likes: Purples, teals, golds: Pets which are friends to her more than animals: To laugh and play harmless pranks to make another smile

Dislikes: Forgetfulness: Clutziness: Being disregarded for being less than perfect: Crying

Eccentricities: She is entirely human, but feels a need to blend in. To do this, she often wears hats that look like ears, belts that have tails. Usually this is when she''s the most nervous about something. She thinks that if a person can laugh at themselves, they can survive anything.

Strengths & Weaknesses: She loves to laugh and finds amusement in most things. Extremely forgetful, and clutzy. Frequently she trips over nothing, falling in a tangle. She has lists hanging everywhere in her apartment to remind her to do the things most people take for granted such as doing laundry, shopping, etc. She can manage this unless she forgets her list which usually has her own address written at the top to remind her of it. She can find it, but can''t always remember the address itself.

Eftemie is strange sometimes. She''s a clutz and almost always trips over the air and her own feet at least 5-10 times a day. A list is her way of remembering things, but she forgets the lists. A person entering her place would find sticky notes hanging in various places. A trip to the kitchen might include a note to check the refridgerator to see what has spoiled. A move to the front door might reveal a note on the doorjamb that tells her to take something with her when she leaves.

She''s not always a happy go lucky person though if she laughs she manages to deal with most things that happen, accepting and moving beyond what they are. Crying is what she hates the most and she''ll run rather than let someone see her cry. She says she''s not the strongest person, but she considers crying a weakness that her state of ineptitude can little handle. So she will laugh at a hurtful remark or make fun of herself rather than give another person control over her via her emotions.

I really have no clue what is in store for her in the Dream Realm, but I''m sure she''ll still be clutzy, forgetful, but sweet much the way Sachiel is. I''ll add more when I figure it out.

Dreams & Nightmares

Dreams and nightmares are physically genderless, but most choose to act and identify as one or the other, though it's not necessary.

1. A dream egg is weightless and translucent. The color of the egg suggests the color of the hatchling. Dreams develop their adult patterns as they grow. The color and pattern will be clearer at each stage.
The egg will hatch in two to ten days after a person first touches it. A dream will hatch in 2-10 days, remain a juvenile for about a week, an adolescent for about a week, and then become an adult. Eggs that are kept close to their bonded dreamers may hatch more quickly.

2. A juvenile dream is small and clumsy. Its mind is still nearer to that of an animal than that of a person. It speaks only in squeaks, shrieks, clicks, and chitters, and can mind-send only emotions.

3. An adolescent dream is gaining some grace and control, and learning to think and speak. It still can speak aloud only in chitters, clicks, and squeaks, but its sounds are beginning to resemble words. It can mind-send simple words and sentences as well as emotions.
Adolescent nightmares start to differ from dreams at this point. They are sharper and leaner.

Adolescents may start to show signs of minor magical abilities at this point - a dream with a talent for fire might begin to be able to produce a flame above its jewels for a few seconds, a dream with a talent for wind might be able to make a little breeze blow.

4. An adult dream has a great deal of grace and balance, and a sharp mind to go with them. It can speak in its owner's primary language and learn other languages, though its speech will always be accented and croaking. It can mind-send both speech and emotions.

Adults develop their magical abilities when they mature; a fire-talented dream could light small flames, a wind-talented dream might call a wind, or start a few clouds.

Adult nightmares grow a strange, sharp charm on the undersides of their wings. This charm keeps nightmares tame, so to speak; without it, they could go wild and evil. A charmless nightmare is a frightening and darkly malevolent thing. A dream whose owner dies or wilfully abandons it may become a wild nightmare.

Dreams who are actively roleplayed and have bred become eligible to become Elders! Elders are larger, stronger, and sleeker, their bodies and minds developed to their full potential. Their speech becomes easier, and their magical abilities more powerful.

The information on stages came from the Dream Realm shop thread. It is not mine.

Sentinels

This was copied from the shop thread. It's to remind me of things I need to know. I'll remove it when I get used to him. Then again maybe not. XD

Sentinels are creatures from the world of Dream. Wild, they are the natural predators of Dreams; but when bonded to a dreamer, they can be raised to consider Dreams as family and companions rather than prey.

Sentinels are magivores and carnivores. They eat meat and foods high in protein, and also consume magic. Usually Sentinels are satisfied by the ambient magic in the world they exist in, but a hungry Sentinel may seek out and drain unattended magical artifacts.

Sentinels purr, growl, roar and bark, as well as having the capability to speak telepathically. Adult Sentinels have enough control over their "voices" to project a quiet "whisper" to a single person, "speak" to a room, or "shout" over a wider area.

Bonded Sentinels are the traditional guards and companions of royalty in the Court of Dream.

1. Coal
Sentinels are born from flame. Each Sentinel manifests from a coal that burns with a cool blue fire. These coals burn without consuming and can be held safely in a hand. Sentinels remain in coal stage anywhere from 5-15 days.

2a. Female cub and 2b. Male cub
Cubs stand about a foot to a foot and a half high at the shoulder. Their claws and tailblade are soft and not fully formed yet. They are children, still learning about the world and learning to communicate. Cubs may show signs of emotion projection, but it is usually not under control yet. Sentinels remain cubs for 1-3 weeks.

3a. Female adult and 3b. Male adult
Adults stand about three feet tall at the shoulder. They have mastered their bodies and minds, and tend to be quite graceful and acrobatic. Females are usually slightly larger and stronger than males, while males tend to have slightly more finesse with their magics, speech and projections. Adults have finely tuned telepathic abilities, and can project emotions or a wall of blankness. Some adults may be able to learn ritual spells as they grow in age and wisdom.

Ulthar

My new dream! Yes, a nightmare and July's no less, my birthday month! This one is going to be fun. His name comes from Lovecraft's Cats of Ulthar. Heh, nice and creepy and I believe with a bit of fury in it. Don't expect him to be too nice either. If you take the time to notice and see there are mistakes on each of his certs, it was done for a reason and feeds his personality.

Ushu

My first daydream is from Corinth's last clutch, a dream owned by Chaeval. She was sweet enough to give her to me.

Pet Pets?

Effe's other pets that sometimes end up in dreams.

Events

This is where I'll put specific pages for events that happen. Once a journal starts getting larger, it gets hard to find something in particular. This just makes it easier to have an idea of what is happening every so often with a page number marked. This is mainly for those whom I rp with and they need to find something in particular for their journal. smile

Notes

This is most likely where I'll put notes or messages to myself. If I need to for other people, I'll do that towards the top. Since I'm beginning on Sachie first and then adding Amon into the mix, I'll put her notes here first. Again this was taken from the Dream Realm Shop.

References

This is for my favorite sources of information. I have an old book on dreams and such, so it will be listed here.

The Complete Illustrated Book of The Psychic Sciences : copyright 1966 by Walter B. Gibson. This is the main book I use for various rp things. It has Astrology, Fortunetelling, Numerology, Handwiting Analysis, Dream Divination, and alot of other interesting things.

Just a bit of information about the way I'm setting this up. I'm the type who likes to tell the story, but also add comments or things that intrigue me as I go. The story will be in blue unless I'm doing someone other than Sachiel. My own comments though a part of the story will be dark red and (( )). That way someone can follow the story if they want and skip the things I say. *snickers* But you might miss something... wink or not.

"Dreams have form, don't they?"

A friend had asked her that. The thought kept repeating itself over and over in her mind. It was as if the echo of it had gotten lodged in some small corner and continued to nudge her when she least expected it.

"Form..." she repeated, her lips tasting the word for a moment. "It seems to me that I barely remember dreams most of the time." Effe was entirely amused by the thought. What would give a dream enough form to become something real? She'd asked herself that question more than once or twice in the last few years. But her thoughts were for other types of dreams than the ones that slipped ephemerally down from the sands of sleep.

She sketched, painted, or wrote things down as a way of keeping track of what she dreamed. Suddenly she smirked as she thought about the last portion. Notes hung everywhere to remind her of things she needed to do. Slips of self-stick paper hung up in all colors, shapes, and sizes. A clothesline hung across one end of the room to add pictures to. The walls were already covered on that side.

With a sigh, she sat down tiredly on her bed. It had been a very long day.

Form... she murmurred as she lay down, nearly asleep as her head hit the fluffiness of the pillow.

Form...

((From form comes a myriad of slivers, each fragment hazy in its perception, but all instinctively held together. Dreams exist but do they know that they exist? Are they real?

Dreamers know they dream. When they awaken. Nightmares carry their dreamers to frightening heights of emotion. Their dreamers also know that they dream. When they awaken in a cold sweat, heart pounding as they stare in frozen terror around them. How could they miss it? Daydreams draw attention away though the person is awake, but unfocused. The dreamer smiles knowing that they have wandered away from reality for a time.

But have they truly done so? Is not reality a perception from the point of view of the person?

Many wander dreams for various reasons. Some are drawn by experiences of the day that may have been happily accomplished, while others pull out the darker, meaner emotions that lie in wait. A dream is a disembodied thought, an endless concept that puzzles even as it allows one to wander through it providing all the sensations, images, and thoughts that reality provides. Some this only serves to puzzle more as they attempt to unravel the meanings and thoughts that produced the surrealistic landscapes they survey. If they lucidly remember once reality shoves itself into their waking mind. More often than not the dreams remain unremembered and surrounded by the surreality one always finds there.

But there are instances where dreams are sharp and clear providing a multitude of clues as to what the person was feeling, thinking, and wondering about so strongly that it intruded into their rest.

Hamlet brings up a phrase that I often think of whenever I wonder about dreams.

"To sleep, perchance to dream-
ay, there's the rub."

--From Hamlet (III, i, 65-68 )

Of course, he's talking more of suicide and death considering the time and place of those words within the play. Not the place I wander when I hear those words. Even science fiction books or movies oftentimes talk of a suspended animation and very frequently those within such a state- a sleep if you will- dream in some way.

Dreams are a perception of a reality that is different than the waking world, but that does not make it less real. Less believable. That is what Eftemie will discover I believe when she begins her journey into the Dream Realm and meets those already residing there. I guess I'll find out.))
