I need some help with computer issues

I have had a problem for some time now and i was hoping that some one would know how to fix it or offer some aid. When ever i open any game i get some thing similar to this( warcraft 3 the frozen throne) or they will just black screen but i can still here game sounds in the background. It should looked some thing like this.
I opened up DXDIAG tested directx and it looked like this. I have gotten the latest driver for my video card and the newest version of directx. Sometimes restarting my computer for temporally fix it until it turns off again. I have went weeks without problems with it, it just seems to randomly have that problem. I am using a Nvidia Geforce 6800 video card.

If you need more info just tell me and i will try to come up with it.
I will probably post this on some other forums.
I have some more issues i might add on to here later

Make sure your graphics card isn't forcing any settings on the game.

I used to have wierd graphical errors all the time because of it.

To check with Nvidea I believe you...
right click on the desktop
properties
settings tab
Advanced
Then there should be a tab for your graphics card.
You're then looking (in the settings you can get taken to) for a tab called "manage 3d settings" in which you need to change most things to application-controlled.

That worked for me, it might work for you... then again, might not, but it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the help, not sure if it has helped yet i guess i will know if i never have the problem again or it still happens.
