Okay, I am sure this thread as probably been made before, but I didn't see any. So here is a place that you can tell us your favorite Harry Potter quotes. They can be either from the books or the movies, because we all know that they don't take it right from the books. Please be sure to tell what book it is from and who said it. You don't have to be specific about chapter or page, unless you want to.
If someone has already made this thread, please let me know.
My favorite quote would have to be:
"I see myself holding a pair of wool socks" - Dumbledore - Sorcerer's Stone.
(I think that is it, I just thought of it off the top of head)

My absolute favorite quote of all time from the Harry Potter books:
"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU B****!" -Molly Weasley, Deathly Hallows
I'm not sure if cussing is aloud in this guild so I blocked out the rest of the last word of the quote.

"Humans have a knack for choosing precisely the things that are worst for them." -Albus Dumbledore
It's very true, sadly.

"I should have made my meaning plainer," said Professor McGonagall, turning at last to look at Umbridge directly in the eyes. "He has achieved high marks in all Defense Against the Dark Arts tests set by a competent teacher."
That has to be my favorite, but only second to these...
"Really, Severus," said Professor McGonagall sharply. "I see no reason to stop the boy playing Quidditch. This cat wasn't hit over the head with a broomstick. There is no evidence at all that Potter has done anything wrong."
"Well, usually when a person shakes their head," said McGonagall coldly, "they mean 'no.' So unless Miss Edgecombe is using a form of sign language as yet unknown to humans --"
"I doubt it will make much of a difference," said Professor McGonagall coldly, "unless a mad axe-man is waiting outside the doors to slaughter the first into the entrance hall."
“We teachers are rather good at magic, you know.” rofl I love Mcgonagall...

My favorite quote is:
"You think the dead we loved ever truly leave us? You think that we don't recall them more clearly than ever in times of great trouble? Your father is alive in you, and shows himself most plainly when you have need of him. How else could you produce that particular Patronus? Prongs rode again last night."-- Dumbledore; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Sorry for such a lengthy quote sweatdrop

I love her too, escpecially when she comes in contact with Umbridge! I loved that book! But yet it was soo sad.

My personal favorite quote isn't so much a quote as a set of quotes...
"Mr. Moony presents his compliments to Professor Snape, and begs him to keep his abnormally large nose out of other peoples business." "Mr. Prongs agrees with Mr. Moony, and would like to add that Professor Snape is an ugle git." "Mr. Padfoot would like to register his astonishment that an idiot like that ever became a professor" "Mr. Wormtail bids Professor Snape a good day, and advises him to wash his hair, the slimeball" -Remus Lupin, James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew, The Marauder's Map, Harry Potter and the Prinoner of Azkaban, Ch. 14, Snapes Grudge. (yes, I actaully have that memorized... scary.)
My next favorite quote is the Spinx's riddle in the maze in Goblet of Fire.
"First give me the person that lives in disguise, who deals in secrets and tells not but lies. Next think of the thing that's always the last to mend, in the middle of middle and the end of the end. Last give me the sound most often heard during the search for the hard to find word. Now string them together and answer me this: what creature would you be unwilling to kiss?"
Finally, I have a quote that, if I recall correctly, is only in the Chamber of Secrets movie (My copy of the book fell to peices and has yet to have been replaced), but I looooooove it.
"Why did it have to be follow the spiders? Why couldn't it have been 'follow the butterflies'?" -Ronald Weasley, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (poor ickle Ronniekins....)

I have an icon of mine. If you having trouble reading it, it says, "Is it true you shouted at Professor Umbridge?" "Yes" "You called her a lair?" "Yes" "You told her He Who Must Not be Named is back?" "Yes" "Have a biscuit Potter." I believe it was Professor McGonagall in OotP

I don't have just one favourite quote; there are too many. McGonagall, the twins, and Luna crack me up, and Dumbledore gives profound advice. However, my favourite scene in the series is definitely Snape's Worst Memory because I love seeing the Marauders, Lily, and Snape as tenagers. I suppose my fave quote from that chapter is when Remus is describing the signs of how to recognise a werewolf: "One, he's sitting in my chair. Two, he's wearing my clothes. Three, his name is Remus Lupin..."

I love how in the Department of Mysteries when Sirius and Bella are fighting he shouts "He was laughing at her. "Come on, you can do better than that!" ...right before Bella kills him. Cocky right to the end, that's my Sirius!
