I've noticed how some of you kinda this funny look on your face when you see me walking by wearing an MC (or four).

So I'll share some of the greatest gold-making tips ever with you.

But remember... this is classified information, yarr. wink

Tip 1: Play Vulture!
Well, sort of. Go to this page. Watch the newest and shiniest listings and watched for anything priced ridiculously low. See a grunny for 10k? Have 10k? GRAB IT!!! Sell it for 17k! Or see a shop item listed for way lower than its usual marketplace price? Get it and resell it.

Whatever you do, ALWAYS check to see what the current going price is on the Marketplace.

Tip 2: Variety.
It's better to list an assortment of items than it is to stick with one or two things... for an assortment of reasons.

-Flooding the marketplace with a single item tends bring the overall price down.
-It screws over anyone who wants to sell the same thing for a decent price.
-By putting in an assortment, you have a higher chance of nabbing impulse shoppers.

Tip 3: SPEED.
There are assorted things you can do to make shopping faster and make it easier to snag cool stuff on the Marketplace.

-Copy your password and paste it instead of typing it out each time.
-Hit the Go button instead of the Refresh button when reloading pages. It won't waste time re-loading images that way.
-Use your tabs to your advantage.

Tip 4: Know when to buy; when to sell
So you want a monthly collectable. Who doesn't? Here a tip: monthly collectables drop like a rock at the middle of the month when everyone is dumping their stuff all over the Marketplace to get the latest shiny.

Take sunstaffs - last month they were at about 8000, climbed to 12000, then at the middle of the month dropped back down to 8000 again. That's a 4k difference!

You WILL take a few losses here and there and you WILL end up with surplus. In the end, however, the gains far outweigh the losses.

STUPID STUFF YOU SHOULD NEVER DO.
-Flood with one item.
-List a shop item above shop price.
-Undercut prices for items 300G or less by values of 5 or 10. Try selling it for 1G less.

OTHER ODDS AND ENDS
-Never go to bed on an empty shop! Fill it to the gunnels before turning in for the night. You never know what'll sell overnight.
-Just because it was free at one point doesn't mean it's worthless. Some starter and sponsor items are worth over 200G...
-If you're REALLY strapped for cash, look for daily chance items on the Marketplace priced for less than half their shop value. Buy them and sell them back to the shops for a profit.
-Be wary of manufacturable items. Although they can start out as a good source of income, they will eventually lose their value. Since they cannot be thrown away or sold to shops, the supply continually increases. When supply outweighs demand, prices fall.

Sub-Article: Browsers, Money, & You.

If you want to snag those deals, you're going to have to get a browser that can take the heat. If your browser is chugging along behind everyone else's, you can kiss those sweet deals goodbye.

INTERNET EXPLORER
By far the WORST. Internet Explorer is so frightfully sluggish compared to other browsers that it's amazing other people actually willingly use this program. (If you claim to have never noticed any difference, try running Gaia on Internet Explorer and Firefox at the same time. You'll wonder why the heck you ever used Internet Explorer in the first place.)

OPERA
A pretty good browser with a fast scrolldown-speed. However, it seems to have a bad habit of slowing down to the point where it can take a pasted passworld 2-3 seconds to appear when used for heavy marketing. Also, it's not fully compatible with Gaia - the dropdown menus will not function unless you fix them yourself. However, if you want a secondary browser, it beats Internet Explorer.

FIREFOX
Your best bet. Firefox scrolls a bit slower, but it's more compatible and handles data forms more sensibly. Also, Firefox has GaiArch going for it. Can't lose. wink

this is just an idea but.

get event items like the jack stuff or whatever they will give out for the christmas event. and keep it in your inventory for about a year or so and sell it in the market place when the price should have gone up.

WOOGAH!

You wanna know how to make some really super-awesome-money?

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a 9th-generation Death Whisper for 45-48k, thinking I could sell it for a few thousand higher (a reasonable profit, I believe it was). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to sell it, as the prices went down after that.

Well, then the Death Whispers evolved again. Now that the Generation 9s are no longer available in the Cash Shop, the prices skyrocketed. I just sold that baby for 85k. Sweet or what?

Also, as it's getting close to Halloween, keep your eyes peeled on Halloween-themed (or just creepy, like the Death Whisper) objects. The prices'll be going up on those too.

Those weird bags (worth $4,99) 1st generation are really expensive now. I guess it's because it was for sale only for a couple of days before it evolved... the 2nd generatin is less than half priced in the mktplace. I'm sure to wait till the end of the month to sell this babe and buy Ian's or Liam's underwear... ^^

Actually, I think Vending is your best bet--you can do it even if you're low on gold.

Though, to be able to snag cheap or mispriced items, you'll need a faster Firefox. There's Fasterfox for people who have Firefox 2, but for those of you who upgraded to Firefox 3, here's three things you can do to ensure yourself a faster Firefox 3.

Step 1: Open a new window or tab and type, in the address bar, about:config
You'll get a message that says "This may void your warranty!"
Don't worry Mozilla, we'll be careful. 3nodding

Step 2: There's a filter at the top--type in network.http
This will give you a small list of items that start with network.http

Step 3: Look for network.http.pipelining
Double-click it--this should toggle it to Status: user set, Type: boolean, Value: true.
Also, the text for that item should now be bold.

Step 4: Look for network.http.proxy.pipelining
Do the same for this--set to user set, boolean, true with a double-click.

Step 5: Here's a little tidbit that's not obvious! Right-click ANYWHERE in the items--though I prefer below them, personally. You should see Copy, Copy Name, Copy Value, New, Modify, Reset. Hover over New, click on Integer.

Step 5a: Name this new Integer network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Make sure there are NO TYPOS. Name it exactly that, change nothing.

Step 5b: Set the Value to 30.

There! Now just restart Firefox and enjoy--it should now use less bandwidth and be generally faster. Also, if you haven't already, go to Mozilla's Firefox add-ons and install AdBlock+. Seriously, that made my Firefox 3 times faster right there.

Now, for vending, and a bit of a joke (though really, just do what Syera said):

Step 1: To avoid mistakes, research prices before trying this system (Tickets are common to Vend, btw, though they can be hard to sell if you don't buy low enough)
Step 2: Look for cheap things to Vend--buy them
Step 3: ????
Step 4: PROFIT!

This here is a lovely example of why you DO NOT FLOOD. As we can see, here I am, trying to make money with the object. I have bought and sold Nitemare Claws before, but never more than one or two at a time. This jackass here has so many listings that myself and everyone with prices above me can count on zero profitability here for the next 190 years. If you're too lazy to count, he has 7 Nitemare Claws. Clearly, he has saved them up until a time when there was a good profit for him. Nothing really wrong with that, except he floods massively, meaning he's denying both himself and others profits.

So remember kids, when it comes to flooding, DO NOT WANT
