Another day and yet another fruitless hunt. This time he had lost his game as it found itself a bolt hole. Meerkats were swift things when they are caught alone. Zeki sighed and stuck his nose into the whole; it's scent was gone and thus it too. Pulling out, he looked around to see if there was another sort of food that he could find. It came upon him that if he fed himself, it would mean less work for his cousins to find food for him. If he was lucky, he could find more food to share so it would be even more less work for them to do. While he was being taught by his uncle, he came to taken upon the lifestyle that he had. Strange since his father would normally disagree with it.
Ezekiel got to his feet and decided to try the water hole, there must have been something that would go toward it and thus a good time to catch it off guard. Sneaky as it was, food need to be gotten and he did not want to be a burden. His father promised he would not be and he did not want to make his father a liar.
As his paws carried him down to the water hole, he made sure to keep one thing in mind. His appearance. According to Ezeoha, his appearance meant everything. Everyday he ran in the morning, cleaned himself nicely before falling back to sleep. Wake up, clean and go out and hunt. If his fur got dirty, he would clean it unless something else was more urgent. In his book, if he was in the presence of a female. His golden coat sheened under the sunlight. His crimson eyes so vibrant that it seemed almost as if his soul were in his eyes alone. His walk was strong but graceful. He was proud to be who he was.

As the young male adjusted his appearance, a soft, melodious sound came to the air...it sounded like someone was singing and quite beautifully at that. It came prominantly from a few metre's away and was soon on the other side of the water hole as a soft pink, sleek form suddenly appeared opposite the young pridelander.
...What on earth was this creature?...
A first guess was to say it was a lion, seeing with her tail tuft and large paws, however her abnormally sleek body and long limbs stated other wise...her unique spots said otherwise aswell. However what ever she was, she was certainly happy as she hummed her whistful tune to herself and hadn't apparently noticed the male yet till she lowered her head to drink from the watering hole.
The first thing she saw was an amorphous golden blob on the water...that was strange...she'd never met this blob before and it was only till she raised her eyes from it did she see it wasn't a blob, but another creature. It looked like a miniature, less hairy form of daddy...it wasn't really his colour, but it did look like him. And even though she wasn't allowed to talk to strangers, she gave a sweet smile his way before speaking to him.
"Hello, there." She started. "Beautiful day isn't it?"

Zeki's eyes focused on the female, lost in the tone of her song. Catchy. He smiled when his attention returned as his eyes fell back onto her face. The wet chin was amusing but cute. With a dip of his head of respect, he collected himself, sat down, giving out a soft, quiet purr.
"A very beautiful day, unefortunately, it does not seem lucky for me," he chuckled as he dusted himself off a bit. The female creature was so elegant, almost cheetah like with her spots and lithe form. She seemed so graceful too and her voice was so pure to him. He took a drink as well.
"You have a very beautiful voice, if I could, I would like to listen to it some more?" he asked politely. Her voice was a crystal to her belt as was her appearance. What else did this female have to surprise him with?
"My name is Ezekiel, but please, do call me Zeki to save you breath from such a long name."

The female was amused by him to say the least, he was very nice on a first impression and her white tipped ears flickered forward curiously at him. As he took a drink she pondered over his words, well, maybe not everyone could be lucky on such a nice day but she still smiled at him as she stood opposite the water hole.
"Maybe your luck will change." She said optimisticly, watching him before he commented her singing and she felt a little twinge of shyness go through her, ears flattening back against her head as she looked down bashfully.
"Thank you...there aren't a lot of others around here, you're the first besides my parents to comment on my singing." Not answering his question, but that still wasn't anything negative and she may still sing for him yet. But right now she simply wanted to know more about him as she stood there.
"My name's Hidaya." She replied.

"Hidaya..." he spoke softly, letting the name roll off his tongue. It sounded so sweet and calm. "That is a very beautiful name, wise parents for naming you such a great name." he smiled at her, that sweet charming smile. He was named after his Uncle Ezeoha, mostly for the first part but the rest came letters of his family. Mostly his father's "father's" family. He did not mind his name, he just believed it was long and a burden for others to speak it. Of course it did upset him a little when they did.
"I believe it already has, when do I get to meet such a rare sight as you? I apologize for asking this but, are you a cheetah? I have never seen one such like you. Your body is like a cheetah but something tells me otherwise," he inquired. She indeed looked like a cheetah but something about her seemed more powerful. Perhaps she was a really thin lion, but would that explain the spots?
His train of thought about her species was broken by the next comment. No one has commented her wonderful voice? Blastphemy! He stood up, a little outraged that no one has ever commented by three beings in her life, himself included as the new addition.
"Impossible! Your voice could be heard far and wide and not a single soul but your parents and I have ever spoke to you about it? I find that very hard to believe. It should be heard by all, I must say it soothes me. It makes me... happy. Others should tell you that your voice is quite a gem. One in a millon."

He certainly was the flatterer wasn't he? The cotton candy coloured female watched him closely before she was asked about her species and cocked her head to the side curiously. Not a lot of others had asked her that question either and she smiled, feeling more and more relaxed in his company as she stood there before lowering her rear onto the ground and into a seated position.
"Well my mother's a cheetah and my father's a lion...so...that would make me a cheeton." She said happily, she was happy being what she was, the best of both worlds. The speed of a cheetah, the strength of a lion and the symbol of her parents love.
However, his next set of words suprised him, her soft, deep blue eyes widening in shock as she watched him closely before she blushed a little more so. Thank the Gods her fur was pink so it didn't show up.
"Th-thank you." She stuttered slightly before clearing her throat and smiling nervously at him.

He calmed down with a soft exhale before sitting down again. She was an interesting female, a great voice that rang out, singing a song that came from somewhere. Her appearance was soothing and cute. Her smile was adorable too.
"A cheeton? Well, that is a new term I have never heard of. A cub born of a cheetah and a lion," he chuckled and put that information in the back of his head. It was an interesting thought how a big lion could plant a seed of such a animal in such a small, lithe creature as the cheetah. The birth must have been painful. He was knowledgeable to an extent but that was as far as how pregnancy went for him. "To have such wonderful parents to have such a courtship and love you so much. You should be honored. My parents are both lions and I am happy that I have them."
He raised to his feet to take another drink of water, driplets falling from his chin. His eyes were able to catch hers as they widened from his slight rant. Zeki smiled.
"I thank you for allowing me to hear your voice and see you in this life time. Don't stop singing, it's really nice and something many of us cannot do or not very good at it." he sure wasn't.

Hidaya smiled at his words, she was happy, very happy to have her parents and she looked into his bright red eyes while he drank before she herself lowered herself to drink from the waterhole. And as he spoke she raised her eyes back to him, ears perking atop her head before she threw the tuft of pink fur on her forehead out of the way of her eyes. This thing did get annoying at times.
"Thank you for allowing me meet a nice lion such as yourself." She replied sweetly, an almost mischevious glint to her eye before she looked back down to the water. He had asked if he could listen to her sing once more didn't he? And she looked at the water before humming softly to herself.
"Sighing softly to the river, Comes the loving breeze. Setting nature all aquiver, Rustling through the trees."
Shaking herself as she finished her little verse before taking another drink, one eye watching him to see how he'd react.

Zeki smiled in reply to her own, she was happy it seemed. Did he say something to bring this emotion up? If so, then he had accomplished something that he did not plan to but did. She had a cute smile. When she flicked her hair aside, he stiffled a chuckle as she did so. Someday, he will be the same with his mane. His father did it a lot too, in fact, many of the older males he knew had manes that went over their faces. His ears perked just as hers did just to make sure there was no one around.
"The pleasure is mine, I am sure," he dipped his head in respect.
Suddenly her voice sang out into the air, filling it with such a sweet haunting melody. The sound was so nice on the ears that it just relaxed down to the side. His eyes closed softly to focus on the sound itself, a purr echoing inside of him. The song was pleasant. He chuckled to himself as a thought crossed his mind; he should give it a try.
"Sighing softly to the river, Comes the loving breeze. Setting nature all aquiver, Rustling through the trees."
Oh jeez! His voice cracked so much! He blushed lightly of embarassment, clasping his throat a little. He chuckled.
"See, I'm not that very good," he spoke sheepishly. "Yours is far better than my own."

The other juvenille watched on curiously, since the conversation had started she had never frowned nore gave a look to say she wasn't unhappy and still his actions had just made her feel much more pleasent. He was just such a nice guy and she wondered if there were other lions as nice as him.
She began to drink once more until he began singing, raising her head as her blue eyes widened softly...well he wasn't any song bird, but his voice was still very nice. And she lifted a paw to press against her muzzle as she giggled a little at his cracking voice, but she quickly silenced herself, wow, that must've sounded rude and she looked at him with a slightly apologetic expression on her face.
But as he commented on hers being better, she smiled sweetly at him.
"Well...you're no bird, but you still have a nice voice, singing or not." She said sincerely.

Her stiffled laugh was amusing at best. How she was not afraid to laugh at anything, but she was of being rude it seemed. Nothing wrong with that, no one is perfect for sure he was not in some ways. Hence one of the rules of his Code allowed him to change any of the rules to fit a sitauation. Sneaky, but it put his mind at ease.
He chuckled and nodded. "I thank you for the compliment. That just proves what I said that not many have a gift like yours. So you should cherish it and never forget it. Who knows, you may find someone special because of it."
He got up and slowly moved over to her. He walked slow because if she did not feel comfortable with it, she would have time to say. If she did not want him near her, she could get up and move in the same direction to remain opposite from him. To give her some time, he stapped half way to the place where Hidaya was anchored.
"Hidaya, why did you decide to come out here today?"

The female didn't move away and watched as he drew closer, sitting there as her eyes wandered over his bright golden form while she sat there, almost as if she was anchored to the ground and she smiled at his words. She enjoyed singing and cherished her voice a lot, because her mother was a singer too, a beautiful one at that and she aspired to be one just like her.
His question confused her slightly before she blinked, looking down in thought as her ears perked forward until she turned to look back at him.
"I came for a drink..." She said simply. "And...because I like seeing what the day brings me."
Hidaya liked meeting new creatures, rare as they were and enjoyed whatever the day brought for her.

Zeki came a little closer until he was only a step or two by her side.
"Like seeing what the day brings... that is rather deep words. We never know what will happen or how things will turn out. It's an adventure in itself that we never know what will happen next or even now." he spoke as a reply to her words. He looked forward toward the on coming days for the fun and the thrill they brought, no matter the bad things that happen, the next day is always a clean slate.
He took the too steps and laid down beside her.
"It's great to know that whatever happens today or tomorrow, or even the next day, you have your friends and family to welcome you back home for a good meal. Even if you are old enough to leave home, it's good to know that when you do go back, they'll be waiting for you," he knew this well, whenever he left home to play and the sun was setting he would come home to a nice meal with his parents. Even now with Ez, he still got a meal even if he failed to catch one himself.
"Say, Hidaya, do you have any siblings?"

Hidaya watched as the golden male lay beside her, she still sitting up as he spoke, even if he was the same age as her he spoke so wisely and she couldn't help but find herself staring at him slightly in awe. She then smiled sweetly as she was asked of her family, only to shake her head slightly.
"No, I'm an only cub." She said, moving so he could lay down beside her new friend as she watched him closely. "It would've been nice to have some brothers and sisters but that's just the card luck hands you sometimes."
Again, not a sad tone, nor unhappy word as she watched him with those large, crystal blue eyes and her long forepaws stretched forward to gently dab against the surface of the water playfully.
"Do you have any siblings, Zeki?"

"No, it seems like you and I have something in common. I too am an only cub, and I think my father is sort of glad about that," he chuckled, stretching a little after the hard knock he had yesterday from a falling cub. "He says that it is quality over quantity, and I get a lot more attention from him than sharing it with others. Not that I would mind having others to play with."
He looked down at his paws, looking at it as if there were something written on it. "I play with everyone else though; my uncles, the cubs in the pride, and my friends. So I can't really complain. Actually, I am sort of glad I am an only cub because I can be with my Dad more often. You have to see the places we go."
Being next to her it seemed different than before. His heart was at a slightly quicker pace and his eyes just kept glancing back at her. He had not even gotten to the point to actually flirt with a female, but was this how it felt? Or was it even better? He felt sort of comfortable but at the same time nervous. Her eyes were a beautiful blue and her fur was a soft pink that just seemed almost surreal as if in a dream. He was tempted to touch it, to touch a fur of a being born of a lion and a cheetah, how it felt. Was it bristled or was it long and soft? He had no idea that a cheetah and a lion could produce such a wonderful display of elegancy and well.. beauty.
He smiled.
"Do you have any friends to play with like I do? It would be very lonely if you were by yourself a lot."
