This is my genre of music. Sure I can get into some Alt. and Metal, but I'm a emo/screamo girl. What do you guys think of screamo (FOB and MCR aren't really screamo, sorry to all the fans), and who's your favorite bands?
I'll make a mini list of mine:

I don't really like it, but I hear it a lot, because my friend is a die hard "As I Lay Dying" fan. She's had me listen to them a couple times, and generally scremo is a popular at my school. It's a type music I can stand, but I really don't prefer listening to it.
I did use to like a few UnderOath songs though. [ W ]

i hate screamo! a bunch of post pubescent babies complaining about issues they should have left in their early teen years doesn't exactly appeal to me. Screamo is just bi-polar emo. The melodies suck, the singing is cliche and the only reason it's so popular is because it's a trend, but...

Down with music with an obvious political message too. Honestly f**king Green Day are the biggest sell outs I know. They couldn't get any lower unless they were turning tricks for pennies off the New Jersey turnpike. They are merely capitalizing on the uninformed, undereducated teenage masses who have no idea why they are mad at their own country. They saw the niche and they are clinging to it like a baby pig suckling at his mother’s teat.
I'm pissed that my eleven year old cousin constantly says "I hate Bush" even though he's f**king Canadian and he doesn't even know why he hates him. It simply irritates me to no end and what's more by supporting politically based bands, fans are supporting corporate America. I love the irony in the fact that fans are supporting part of the thing they are "rebelling" against by listening to this music. Debate it all you want, this is exactly why I choose not to support the music industry and generally why I stay away from music all together.

I prefer bands that have songs about drugs, sex friends, family. Yea the first 2 sound bad, but I don't mean like telling people to do them, but having the inuendo in there makes for songs I like. Currently my favorite song is Critical Acclaim by Avenged Sevenfold, it's got politics in it, but they are actually truthful. You should read them, they make more sense then most political garbage bands these days.
