The bright mare raced through the fields, feeling the rush of wind against her small locks of hair. It had been a productive day, for in the morning she swam under the rising sun, and now she was giving herself a fast gallop. She knew that soon she would need to give herself a rest, and she slowly stopped herself at a clearing of rocks with a quiet stream. It would be the perfect place to catch some air, and she panted for a moment, before pulling her breath back together.

She eyed the water carefully, before pondering if she should take some or not. Would it make her weak to drink some of that delicious water? It was healthy, wasn't it? "Crap." she then said to herself, while making a quick snort. NOW what would she do?

In an effort to calm herself, she smacked her hoof into the water, only to feel bits and pieces of moisture hit her body. Damn, the water felt GOOD. But still, she didn't want to look like a total weakling by drinking some..

And so, the internal battle begun!

The morning had been tedious and long for the stallion, awoken by the drive to train he'd been up long before the sun began to lighten the skies. He'd run for hours, racing the sun to see if he could get from the shores of the sea to the base of the mountians before the great fire ball rose beyond the looming peaks. Of course - he'd won. Yet not by enough....tomorrow morning he'd have to try again; till he'd be satisfied by his acheivement at the same time.

Trudging along the rocky path with what felt like lead hooves, his muscles screamed to be soothed of their agony; obviously overworked from his toned and near peak physical shape. Beads of sweat clung to his hair while his mane stuck to his head horridly; Zevach looked like a mess...but he knew it was only the rugged look which could come from hours of training.

And he loved every moment of it.

Nearing the stream, the teal stallion stopped and watched the vibrant orange mare stroll across; nearing the stream's edge and pausing at the water. His brow rose as she seemed hesitant, even going as far as to strike the surface in what looked like frustration....hell, what was her problem anyways? His mind wandering back to Amary...the purples in her mane brought a smile to his lips before reminding himself that this wasn't infact his infactuation....yet their discussion on lifestyles had him thinking. What if he was nice to other mares....would he see results? Walking forth instead of trying for another easy acsess point downstream, he brushed past the mare and walked directly into the water while moving a bit downstream before plunkering his body down into the refreshingly cool current.

"If you're going to stand there gawking at the water, don't block useage for those who need it." He huffed; his words completely empty from their usual spark of arrogance...quite easy to tell he was merely putting up a front for his uncomfortable nature of meeting others.

Before she could make up her mind, the voice of a stallion struck at her ears, causing her to lose focus once again. The stallion's words were very rude, and that made the situation much worse. What was HIS problem? If she really was what pissed him off, then she most certainly would continue on that path! Tsuki tended to get quite angry from little comments like the stallion's, but for the moment she cooled down and decided to snicker lightly. There was some humor to this situation, and she might as well enjoy it. "If that is what you are using the water for, then I can only laugh at your decision. Who honestly wanders in for no specific reason? Aren't you gonna.. do anything? Ah well, everyone has their own kicks and decisions, as well as the time to lounge around like that." And with that, she flicked her hair out of her eyes and continued to grin sheepishly.

"Besides, there is nothing that is marking this land as yours, so if I so desired, standing and blocking the way is most definitely my right. There is no reason for me to cater to another who is only being rude off the dot."

As usual, she didn't even KNOW the stallion, but she was already making judgments on how he did react to her. Despite her moody responses back, she continued to watch him carefully, wondering what his deal was. Why would he say something like that to a complete stranger? He must have gotten in trouble for that often..

Ohhhh, a fiesty one. Zevach was more than used to these tempermental mares by now; since he'd had yet to meet any spineless ones so far. Then again, he'd rather have someone to butt heads with rather than some boring scaredy mare anyday.

...even if it was a bit of a mental hassle to keep on his hooves.

"Well excuse me for not wishing to smell like some dirty pig after a long day of training...although I thoroughly wouldn't mind wasting time on hygenic purposes to get more work done; I doubt my master and any who I run across would be thanking me for lack of bathing. I can assure you that lounging around doesn't fit into my schedual, and neither is wasting time here trying to get use of a stream when its being used for its reflection!"

Huffing out his chest, his ears fell back slightly towards his skull before listening to her next little speal....in which by all accounts he knew was true. Yet as per usual, his pride wouldn't let that fall on deaf ears. "Bah! Marking is for idiots, I claim this land because i'm obviously the bigger and stronger around these parts; and its simply common sense that one would mind not to piss off like that. Everyone has their rights...i'll give you that; yet even I can say if you were to come to me when I was admiring myself in the stream I would move aside for you if you had better purpose of the space than I."

Wait...that sounded a bit too nice. Oh well, even he could slip up sometimes. Smirking and shaking his head, he pressed forth and rubbed right up against her to step into the stream as already the water turned slightly grey and borwn with the mud which dissolved off his hooves. "Or...do you actually have something important to do here in the stream?"

Tsuki was aware that she was a feisty female, but it always took her a moment to stop and realize what she was saying. It was no wonder she had no friends, she was always so snappish and awful! So the female then took in a large breath, she she closed her eyes to undo some of the terrible anger she always carried around. "Ah.. well. My temper is nasty so, sorry." There, that was a good start, wasn't it?

"Its your right, to use this stream. Please use it as you wish.. I was just decided if I should have a drink or not, playing the question game with myself." The mare then brought her eyes back to herself, and grinned at the thought of not yelling at another. "I thought I was being a weak a** by drinking some water, but thank goodness I am not thirsty anymore."

With a flick of her tail, she brought her attention back on the male, before shuffling her hooves lightly. "Well anyway, I'm Tsuki, and if you would like privacy while using this thing, I can leave and stuff." Her speech was a tad awkward, but she was trying to cure herself from its usual negativity. "What's your name?"

Sorry? She appologized? Well damn, now he just felt like an a**. Biting his lip lightly as his eyes wandered down to his reflection, he could almost see his damned brother Marius staring back at him laughing; always critisizing him and making him damn miserable! Of course Zevach would always fall for it; his own temper much like Tsuki's. Looking back to the odd orange and purple mare he shrugged his shoulders as he tried to act a bit more civil.

....it was the least he could do after she'd started being polite.

"No....we both were....irritable." He confessed, offering a half smile as he wasn't sure how she'd take to him now. "Its only natural that two hot heads clash, y'know? Besides, its kinda refreshing not to meet a complete pushover." Zevach lowered his head and rubbed the dirt off his face with his leg; watching the brown debris float downstream with the current. "Being an a** for drinking water?" He looked up, raising a brow in suprise. "Water makes you stronger...without it you'll become weak and your body will shut down. If anything water will make you stronger."

None the less, he took a few more steps downstream incase she changed her mind to take a drink; and that his bath wouldn't interfere with any fresh water. "Tsuki....I like it. You don't have to leave if you don't wish to. Company never hurt....i've been alone for the past week anyways." He grinned lightly, training did do a bit of a number on one's social life. "Name's Zevach, by the way."

Tsuki smiled back at the stallion, feeling strangely comfortable at this new arrange of events. They both were irritable: that was the bane of their personalities. In a way, it was funny that they could connect on that one common fact. "Well, I am Tsuki, Zevach, and I must admit, I am sort of liking how this is working out. I tend to steer many away because of my impulsive grumpiness, but." she paused, and grinned excitedly. "I am thankful that you don't want me to leave." Zevach was like.. the first ever! This was a good sign.. she could be happy, she knew it was possible!

Tsuki then walked herself so she was next to the stallion, and she turned her face to face the water's reflection. "I have always been kind of weird about water, and eating. My father can go days without either, and I am always competing with him." With a shrug, Tsuki brought he expression back to the stallion, before flicking her tail in a smiley glee. "So Zevach, do you have any family or anything? I have a sister and a brother.. all we do is compete with each other. I'm the strongest, thank goodness." She giggled lightly before waiting to hear what Zevach would say about himself.

She was having fun.. and that was both weird, and awesome!

"Tsuki...Strange....but it suites you. Nice to meet you." He smirked, dipping his head as he couldn't help but agree as it seemed their little rocky start has the possibility to turn into a nice conversation for once. Luckily he was smart enough to test out her company instead of walking away...HA. Like Zevach would have ever walked away from a irritable mare, he wouldn't lose to something stupid like that! "Likewise....we have more in common than I originally though. I dare say I might be enjoying myself; but you know, this doesn't leave the stream." May lighting strike him down if Marius ever found out he enjoyed someone's company for once. That damned brother of his would find someway to turn it against him.

"Can he? Thats admirable; Mine can as well....he was a nomad for a few years and he told me in his stories that food was often scarce in the deserts and mountains of the north. I think I could last; but I don't see the point. I'd rather have the energy to train longer and harder than to starve myself to prove a point. Well....when I didn't need to that is." He grinned, but his face seemed to fall to a irritable scowl as she mentioned siblings and family. He wasn't sure what possessed him to be so open with Tsuki but he supposed their similar personalities and situations were getting the better of him.

"I have a somewhat large family. I have grandparents; an aunt and uncle; cousins...parents and a brother and a sister. My sister is a bit of a space case off in lala land...and my brother is a pain in my a**. He and I do nothing but fight since he hates what I am and I hate who he is. I don't see him much; but its for the best; We'll never get along. I'm the strongest as well; since there is no competition whatsoever." Rolling his ruby eyes, before taking a long drink of the cool water at his hooves.

"So Tsuki...what do you do to train? It would be nice to hear of different techniques, since I have yet to meet anyone with similar hobbies as my own till now." Smiling quite genuinely, Zevach nudges her neck with his nose gently; hell...now she had him curious!

Heh, so Zevach also had troubles of his own to deal with? Tsuki grinned as the stallion told her not let others know about their conversation together, and she only nodded her head slowly, before assuring him she would respect his wishes. "Its ok, I understand. My brother especially would give me such a hard time, not everyone can be as social and lovable as him." And with that, she gave a slight eyeroll before looking back at the stallion for his words.

Tsuki was interested that his father was also similar, and she wondered if he went through the same annoyances concerning training as her. Just as she was about to ask, the stallion changed his full expression, and the discussion of family soon arose. Tsuki was more interested in what the stallion had to say about his family life, so she only listened as the stallion spoke. He really had quite a situation! "Goodness, that IS a large family. And I thought I had complaints, having a mother who is scared of everything, and a brother and a sister who are idiots." She snorted lightly, before glancing at the stallion. "Its funny, you know? You think you can escape and ignore your family, but its much harder then it seems They seem to be a burden no matter what." The mare knew about that all too well, and she was grumpy in thought until Zevach's next question.

His kind gesture stunned the mare, but she only smiled warmly out of the fear of acting strange. This was all new to her, so she needed to act natural despite her inability to be used to these sorts of things. She tried to focus on the question, since the stallion was also passionate about the subject. "Ah yes, techniques. I spend much of my day running, pushing logs to increase my strength, swimming in heavy streams when its not too cold, since I find water training to be the best for its resistance." She then nodded, while collecting her thoughts. "Because the wintertime is fast approaching, much of my training is closed off, since the rivers and streams become frozen. But I find whatever I can to keep my busy, and just wait for all the damn snow to melt." Pft, it was such an annoyance. "What about you, Zevach?" She flicked her tail while watching the stallion.

Someone who understood his frustrations and pain...how rare was this meeting? He began to appreciate running into this oddly coloured mare more and more as they spoke and confided in their family issues about their passion. No one in his family seemed to understand what it was like to want to train to became just like the person who seemed to resent it the most. Stupid father....what did he know anyways? "No kidding, Marius is such the mare's stallion and I think he intentionally breaks hearts for the fun of it. Idiot; he's weak..." Zevach nearly spat as he just shook his head, no...he needed not to get in a huff in front of Tsuki.

"Family is family, and they will continue to be so till the day we die apparently." He too rolled his eyes in a similar fashion as she, it seemed now a days family was all lovey dovey and everyone got along; he'd met one or two with family issues yet it seemed not as common as it should with all the clashing personalities.

Yet as she spoke of the techniques he'd asked about, his eyes widened in a bit of amazement as he took mental notes. "Logs? streams? Amazing, I would have never thought of that!" Mental note for later: Find some logs and streams before winter closed in and those resources became unavailable. "Well...running is my main source of training. I often use the slopes of the mountains near out home; I know the trails well since I was born up in the snowy peaks. Nothing like resistance of running on such a steep incline. Otherwise, I kind of have a master who teaches me a lot of battle techniques; He's a mutant and a damn scary one at that - you should see him! Although we had a bit of a rough start....see these? Its from his tail laden with spikes!" Zevach motioned to a few circular scars riddled along his backside - somewhat proud of them. Hell; you had to be strong after getting impaled like he had when he was a colt!

"Otherwise, saplings that are tall but still flexible allows for great pulling, They're a nice resistance too." He nodded, smiling towards what he liked to think of as a newfound friend. Perhaps they would he able to train together sometime? Training was good; but sparring was definitely another story and a very good source of training.

Tsuki didn't know how she felt about this stallion's brother, and from the sound of things, this Marius must have had one crazy personality. "Things would not be pretty if I met this brother of yours. I would probably break his neck before he could even want to try and break my heart." The mare gave a usual chuckle, since stallions like that always made her laugh in delight. "It is good that you don't act that way, if your brother was smart, he would realize that stallions are much more enjoyable as they are- truthful."

Truth was a fools game these days, and Tsuki had come to accept that. Her own father was the most truthful male she had ever met, and every other one was just.. the opposite. "Family keeps us on our toes.. and that's about it I'd say." With a light chuckle, she brother her eyes back on Zevach, before nodding sternly. "If you can survive family, then you can survive anything. That's what I tell myself at least."

At the stallion's reaction to her training methods, Tsuki felt a hint of proud flow through her body. "Well I have been training with my father since I was young, and he taught me all of these great techniques. When spring or summer arrives, I'd be happy to show you some time." Tsuki wondered if it would even be possible for her to see this stallion again, and hopefully he would accept that kind of trade-off. She wouldn't deny that she was enjoying his company, and she felt full of life and happy while talking about such similar life stories. "Ah, mountains are a great resource. I don't use them nearly as much as I should." she then commented, while pushing her random thoughts away for the moment. "That stallion sounds like quite a teacher! I have no doubt that you are strong for being able to handle yourself in that situation."

Tsuki felt perplexed that she was actually smiling for once, and naturally, and she giggled as the stallion continued to talk about training, feeling more at ease then ever before! "If you can find saplings that are sturdy enough, you will be tied back until you can break them! That's the best, since you have to work hard to get out of a situation." She would SO train with this male some day, and all of the annoying Soqs she had met in the past disappeared from her mind, since she actually had someone who felt friendish! "Is there anything else you do with your free time, Zevach?" she then asked, with a usual grin.
