As I'm sure many of you are aware by now, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band is the final track on Guitar Hero III's main setlist. And I'm sure many of you were wondering, as have I, how they will be going about putting this song in a guitar game when most of the song is fiddle playing. Well, the answer is this cover recording. So, fans of the song, what do you think of the cover? Personally, I prefer the original because it is a song about fiddle playing and the GHIII version has no fiddle. Admittedly, though, the song is still pretty badass...

The whole point of the tale that makes up the song is a fiddle. A guitar ruins the point.
I think GH is running on E and needs all the gimmicks it can get.

I do, however, like that there's some very fast, low, palm-muted power chords in the verse. A song I'm writing has a rhythm similar to that.

That's one thing I don't understand the hype over. xp I've pre-ordered the game, so I'll be getting it about a week after its released. Unfortunately, that only leaves me five days to enjoy it before Super Mario Galaxy comes out, and I'll be getting that the day it comes out. I would have preffered to have Dragonforce's "Through the Fire and the Flames" as the final track and had "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" as a bonus track. But, oh no, "Through the Fire and the Flames" is too hard for some people. Well, I say suck it up you bunch of pansies, it's the very last song, nobody should be expecting a cakewalk...

Cakewalk for me.
I mastered the Charts, which are somewhat harder, and somewhat the same.
Plus I mastered the Stepmania version as well.
Bring it GH, best be glad I didn't preorder you.....

So what if it's a fiddle-based song? It's a hard as heck song to play, period, so it seems kinda fitting as the last track.
I love country music, I play(ed) violen (a fiddle is a violen played in blu-grass) and I just don't see the big deal. If anything I'm laughing my a** off at the fact that country has invaded a rock based game.

You see, the person that put "Dueling Banjos" on Guitar Hero 2 was smart. He left the banjos there, and the guitar was basically for looks. That's given that it'd be hard to edit the models in GHII compared to editing songs.
