Alrighty then. I know this is a guild revolving around KIRA, but I wanted to get this out of the way- I'll lock the thread if you do't see this fit, but I'm pretty sure it is.
Hopefully, you all know who Mikami Teru is : The man whom Kira gave the Death Note to in order to gain another 'pawn'. The prosecutor with an taste for justice so strong, he would and did go insane for the one thing that mattered most to him in this world: God.
But, many pro-Kira people have a strong dislike and/or hatred for the man. They believe that they entiore downfall of Kira's Kingdom went tumbling down because of one mistake. (Which, I see why they would say that.)
But, I want YOU, a pro-Kiraist, to share your opinion on the man. Do you think he was more of a help to Kira's perfect world, or the cause of not only it's downfall, but Light's death?
I, for one, am Pro-Teru. I always see people say "Oh, I liked him until he went insane." What? Yes, Mikami went crazy, but it was for a good cause. Yes, Mikami slipped up, but he did it to HELP Light. If he would have known what he was going to do, do you really think he would have done it?

I have a love-hate relationship with that guy. True, he was helpful, and practically dedicated, and ultimately lost, his life for Kira. Then again, I'm going to have to agree with the part where everyone blames Mikami for Kira's downfall, because if it weren't for that little slip-up, Kira might've never been caught. He did help by leading the police off of Kira's trail, but was also responsible for Kira's death, even though, in the end, Mikami tried to protect him.

I agree with you. I mean, it was a slip-up on Mikami's part, but I can't blame himself to blame the entire thing on him. I can't help but feel that Kira might have been caught eventually, but by then he would have been too powerful to stop, perhaps?
I know that it really was Mikami's fault, in the sense of his slip-up, that Kira's downfall was caused, but dedication wise, I simply can't get over him. I wish I was more like him, as I probably would have been too afraid to do some of the stuff he did.

Exactly. I mean, I KNOW that Mikami's mistake seemed to make the deal so much bigger. But, Ryuk would have eventually killed Light.
The manga Death Note spans over six years. Ryuk was going to get bored pretty soon, I'd imagine.

Mikami Teru was phail. He was basically publicized by the media being on the show that considers Kira a god. And Mikami was stupid enough to let his Deatnote get stolen and let paged get replaced. That is just suck!

Mikami Teru helped Kira in making the police suspect Yagami Light more but then he got his Death Note replaced which really sucks and eventually led Yagami Light to his death. But then if Yagami Light hadn't said that he won, then probably he wouldn't get caught at that time yet. But then would get eventually caught because Near already has a lot of proofs on this but if he doesn't catch Kira on that day then he'll be written on Yagami Light's Death Note but I don't think Near would let the day past without arresting Light, so perhaps he'll lock him up then if nothing happens then everyone would say that Yagami Light is Kira. So yeah, he'll be caught anyways...

I have mixed feelings for Mikami.... I greatly admires him for his devotion towards Kira, I'm sure many people even in this guild will not be willing to volunteering sacrifise half of his or her life span for Kira without being asked. However, it is Mikami's devotion to Raito that led to Raito's downfall. I will never be able to forgive Mikami for that. Comparing the Mikami for the anime and manga, I have to say that I prefer the one in the anime even though that Mikami was more insane. In the end anime Mikami killed himself to create an openning for Raito. Even though that it didn't help much, I still thankful to him for that. In the manga, I have to say that I grew to even hate Mikami. I was appalled by his accusation stating that Raito was a mere human.

I think that Mikami was a a really good asistant, he did make a slip-up at the end but he made up for it big time, I mean seriously, he stabbed himself with his pen to let Kira get away...

well..he was pretty helpful..i mean even at the last ep when light is found guilty of bring KIRA he still helped him until the very end and sacraficed himself exclaim heart wahmbulance

I think he HELPED Kira a lot more than he caused his downfall, I mean sure of course you should keep your death note safely put, but he thought they still suspect Light so really had no reason to be secure. Plus he was more genius then Kira's other previous alliances. I LOVE TERU

I mean have you heard how much he said sakujo (I don't know how to spell it)

well everyone's listed the reasons. so i won't bother. it all comes to this. he was an advantage and also a disadvantage to light. light made the choice to pick him. and that's all there is to it.

{ He was a great follower. I think he ranks just below Misa in the loyalty scale in the anime, but in the manga, right at the end he says that he wishes that he never met Light and calls him scum, but up until that he was probably one of the best, if not best followers that Light/Kira had.
I don't really think it was his fault about what happened in the end, because though he was extremely smart Near was just a few levels above him. If Giovanni hadn't worked so quickly by copying the contents of the notebook, he probably would have figured it out and contacted Light to work something else out. }
