I would like to read more mangas, but i don't know what's got lots of things against my values (lotsa sex and cussing and whatnot) and what doesn't and i don't want to become involved in a series that's going to go "HOLY HECK WHAT DID THEY JUST DO?!?" throughout the rest of the series. here's some that i have read/started:

Azu Manga Daioh!
Fruits Basket
Death Note
Bleach
Trigun
Card Captor Sakura
Kingdom Hearts (1, CoM and 2)
Black Cat
Naruto
Rurouni Kenshin
Vampire Game (i think it's called...)

does anyone have any suggestions? ^^

My suggestion: Don't read any of it. Most of them have junk hiding in them.

Or just watch the rating and don't read anything above a T (Teen). (No nudity, but still some swearing and such... so maybe not even those) Up to you.

Azu Manga Daioh!-Halarious one strip comics, as a propriot as high school, but much cleaner. A+
Fruits Basket-heart warming, some language but only from a handful of characters who's language inproves. Explained nudity on occasion, but very rare. A
Death Note-creepy, I'm not reading it.
Bleach-funny violence, some language but few and inbetween. A
Trigun-Over the hill silly, with violence. haven't gotten that far there so don't know much. B
Card Captor Sakura-Very nice. Clean, kid romance, action, lovable CLAMP. CLAMP is mostly clean, unless they're creepy. A
Kingdom Hearts (1, CoM and 2)-dunno
Black Cat-Looks good, but haven't found it much at the library.
Naruto-Ehhh.... Other than Naruto's specialty, it's pretty much good. B+
Rurouni Kenshin-Hearwarming, viloence, historical fiction, mild language. A
Vampire Game (i think it's called...)-Violence, language, sexual reference but no action that way and little nudity. Funny as beans adn a good story. B-

My suggestions for manga:
MAR: Clean, violent at time, kid humor, other world adventure. B+
Pretear: Magic girl adventure, short, mild romance, no language that stick out, cute. A-
Rayearth: Clean, magic girl adventure, some romance, humor, other world, CLAMP early work. A
Saint Tail: Kid romance, theft, action, mystery, humor, kid fantasy, short. Very cute. A
Dream Saga: Other work adventure, magic girl, kid romance, humor. A
Her Majesty's Dog: Halarious and very clean, magical romance, a kind of retelling of beauty and the beast.
Sailor Moon: Nuff said

Those are all my recomendations and analizings of what you're currently reading. I've read alot of manga adn am always searching for more and more clean ones. Early CLAMP works are best to go to, except for their Alice in Wonderland. Don't touch it if you can avoid it.

Mangas I have read and can actually give advice on:

BLEACH (Have all 21 volumes)- Good stuff. Not much language, not too gory, one really really brief PG-13 nudity-esque scene. Again, good stuff.

Helsing - Really gory most of the time, I don't remember any nudity, and the language does need a little editing in a few places.

my top eight mangas:

Naruto: it's just a very good manga.

Bleach: great action manga with a quirky sense of humor.

One Piece: very silly, but action packed.

D.Grey Man: nice gothic art style, memorable characters, and a great sense of humor.

Tsubasa: awesome story by CLAMP. one of my favorites.

XxxHolic: the sister story to Tsubasa. the stories intertwine.

Death Note: intriguing plot and very good art. one of the best.

Prince of Tennis: a good sports manga. the story is well told.

"Mahou Sensei Negima" is one my huband and I both enjoy. It is a little heavy on the fan-service but the plot's very good and doesn't involve anything I object to.

I really enjoy "Kare Kano" but the two main characters do have premarital sex. It's never shown and the only way it affects the story is in it's natural consequences. (For their relationship and such.)

"Inuyasha" is kinda violent and gory but it's got adventure and romance*. I don't do horror, period, but I find I can read this without any problems. There is occasional nudity but it's (a) only ever partial and (b) set up for jokes. (Like Inuyasha hears Kagome scream so he comes running to help but all it was was she saw a snake in the hot spring and she gets mad at him for "peeping" and hits him with her subduing spell.)

*It kinda has romance. Rumiko Takahashi doesn't seem very comfortable with romance so when a scene is getting too romantic she tends to end it on a gag. Kinda annoying that way.

Some American comics I highly recommend are "Girl Genius" and "P.S. 238."
