From TV Guide via krypton site:
I know about the romantic restrictions on Lois and Clark [being a couple on Smallville], but is there a restriction on one or the other starting to have nonplatonic feelings? Such as Clark starting to like Lois more but keeping it to himself? — Superman_Beyond Gough: Shhhhhh! You're spoiling the end of the season!
So it looks like if we get season 8 that it might be more Clois heavy, If Al isn't joking that is.

You know... I am starting to think that this new personality that Lana seems to have started to pick up is what is going to cause the ultimate seperation of Clana by the end of the season. I could see this happening, though they have a LOT of ground to cover between now and then. They gotta have Lana do something to make Clark fall out of love with her and Lois has to go something to get Clark to start getting interested in her. Well, I mean something so that Clark realizes it. We have already seen that deep inside he is falling for her, he just doesn't know it yet.

I think they've been moving towards that sort of a storyline for a while now, so I can see it happening.
