Just a quick thing that's been bugging me for a while, how much do you think gender influences how a sign's traits are displayed? Ie. Does a female cancer display that nurturing/caring differently to a male? Is a female Aries less 'gung-ho' (for want of a better term) than her male equivalent? Obviously this sort of stuff is also influenced by sociological aspects as well as other stuf in their chart (moon etc.) but just wondering if there was a general tendency that people have noticed.
This was mainly stirred up because I noticed in some relationships which had compatible signs tended to have the genders pretty set (ie. I haven't seen many Saggitarius/Aquarius pairings where the male is the aquarius - feel free to prove me wrong with all this btw) and wondered why it was (once again, Mars/Venus stuff is gonna be an influence here as wel).
So what do you guys think, does gender play a role in how a sign is expressed/how likely they are to connect with other signs? etc.

Interesting idea. I don't think there are any signs where I know enough people, and of even gender balance, to really make a comment, but I'd say it's a possibility, and would be interesting to look into. I'd certainly think social factors would be involved - for example, the aries female might be discouraged from 'gung-ho-ness' moreso than the male.

Hah, not too likely in this day and age. The differences between a guy and a girl with same sign will only be obvious gender differences (and I mean that psychologically). An Aries girl and guy will both be outgoing, aggressive, dynamic, and foolhardy. The way they are aggressive will be different because men and women have different aggressive tendencies. And the way they are foolhardy may also be different.

Oddly enough I too thought about that yesturday...... neutral Well I was thinking about how the masculine sign of Libra (always about me, you know...) and the femininity of Venus affected the physical appearance. And I was surprised on what I've found.
BTW, if all this "ME" talk is boring you, please tell me.
As if I care...

(no offence to anyone!! Let it e known I think Aies' on the whole are awesome sweatdrop ) I'm more likely to be intimidated by an Aries female (initially) than a male...it's a different type of gung-ho. The guys are more active I think and the girls are just more "dynamic" (er, did that make sense?) One of the Aries females I know is convinced she's a Scorpio because of the depth/intensity of herself, but I don't think she get's it's a different intensity...

Really?! neutral Well ok... The masculine part makes girls (I don't know exactly but) masculine like having a slightly deeper voice (which is true because I have that, it's awesome when I sing whee ), and they're physically stronger (got that too, my arms and legs look great!). The fact that Libra is ruled by Venus, makes guys look beautiful (I don't know much about this mainly because I don't know any Libra guys) , and such. (I know these examples mainly from myself. The other Libras I know are uhhhhhmmm.......*leaves the room*)

I think with just the sun signs alone, I don't find much difference. Me & my boyfriend are exactly alike cause we both are aquarius. But then if you start to factor in the rest of the chart then you start to see differences.
@Mezzo_Forte: Don't worry about talking too much about yourself. I always talk about me & my boyfriend. it's habit. i'm sure people in this guild are tired of hearing about us anyways. rofl

xd Your sign has no effect on your appearance. That's alllll genes. I.E. My mom's former Librian boyfriend was hideous. xp And I've known alot of Aries girls who are very feminine in voice and appearance.

Oh, physically-wise...um...we look like people? I don't think sun signs affect how you look. But I do have a droopy head from daydreaming alot.

Actually, I think that astrology can play a big role in determining one's appearance, although genes are of course extremely important in this too. Judging someone's looks just by their sun sign won't work too though, there are just WAY too many things in a chart that you have to factor in. I've noticed that people with pleasant, 'beautiful' features often have venus in the first house, usually close to the ascendant, or venus conjunct sun. Also, ascendant by itself often hints as to the features one has, and any planets aspecting it. Some people also argue that the moon plays an important role in physical appearance.

rolleyes Venus doesn't just come up in the signs of pretty people. And, no you couldn't even say that it's the majority of pretty people. Having any especially feminine or masculine planet anywhere in your horoscope is purely coincidence. The planets don't make you pretty or ugly, that's all gene's.
Got it? Good. I'm not going to repeat myself...again.

Honestly, I think it does have a difference. Not too much of a difference, but enough to be noticed. I actually find ((this is speaking from personal experiance)) that Cancer guys tend to be more open about their moodiness. And, also, I get along okay with Sagitarrius woman (I'm a Piceas) but I really don't get along with the guys. Eh, I suppose that could be everything else in their chart (like for the Cancer thing Acendant and Moon)...

yeah cause my friend is a sag and he acts like our friend is attached to his hip and she's a pisces. So it really must be due to the ascendant and stuff.
