The episode you're thinking of is called Soul Possession in Season 6. Joxer is trying to keep Ares from marrying Xena... Pretty good episode, considering...

Plus I don't think that Xena really loves Ares. He loves her, and maybe she has lust for him, but I wouldn't call it love.

Xena does love Gabrielle..it doesn't matter if you believe in subtext or not. smile And yes, that episode was funny. Though I think it would of been great to see Ares and Xena married. Just image the possibilities... lol
