Omph, UFO 10: a warrior, a sister, and a truly brave Zurg. Though few spoke to her, many remember her well for her strong warrior spirit and, sadly, her sacrifice.
She first made herself known to us by joining the Zurg Hive, founded as Zurg Nation by her brother Sorn, then renamed and commanded by her sister Zooeep. It was clear from the beginning that she was the embodiment of a warrior, from her strong will to her sense of following what was right, and her incredible devotion to honor. Had she been a Gaian, she would no doubt have been a knight. Calm but firm in what she wanted, she was willing to give any who wanted to talk to her their chance, yet she remained something of an enigma to most outside of the Hive.
They were forcefully alerted of her presence, however, when she stated that she intended to fight Sorn...to the death. He was viewed as a traitor for falling in love, and despite all of the efforts made to prevent their confrontation, Omph refused to back down. The two met in what was to be their battleground, 1919, amidst a crowd of worried observers desperate to keep the town from becoming the site of bloodshed. Omph, though many believed she was misguided to challenge her brother, proved beyond a doubt that she, possibly more than any other Zurg, was worthy of the title of warrior.
However, the battle did not come. Sorn's words had an effect on her, and realizing that his belief in love was as strong as her passion for honor and the Zurg way, she decided to take him to 06 and hold council. They departed 1919, filling the onlookers with hope.
But before they were able to reach 06, tragedy struck. Flarn, reborn as a hybrid between Gaian and Zurg and filled with the madness of "darknrgy" appeared, intent on killing his brother. Omph, true to the nature of a warrior, chose to fight him instead, allowing Sorn to escape. His love was so strong that she wanted him to prove that he was right to feel it, even if it meant her death. Flarn mercilessly shot her down, leading most to believe she had died.
Still, though, some hold on to hope. Some refuse to believe that she is truly gone, for one with such a strong spirit can hold onto life even in the most desperate of conditions. Sorn, though he saw Flarn shoot her ship down, didn't believe she was really dead. He searched for her, finding the wreckage of her ship, but no body. Though she was proclaimed dead by her sister, there remain those who are willing to search across Gaia for her, following in the footsteps of her brother. Even though no one knows for certain whether or not she is alive, it is certain that her memory still remains strong in the minds and hearts of many. Omph, the warrior, is not one to be forgotten.
