Hmm I've noticed that after about a two years of steady raving you to feel jaded, what with being surrounded by e-tards, being jipped on money, having to hear the same ten HHC tracks over & over again... does anyone else feel this way?....
............. I mean like two years ago I would wear my kandie everwhere & now I barely even wear it to raves... s**t last week I even slept through all of bloodfest, & that wa my favorite rave last year....Earthdance got shut down.... I think I need a break from raving.... or maybe we need a mix up in the scene, right now it just seems redundent.....

it happens. i end up at the same club, talking to the same people, hearing the same s**t electro they spun last week.
what was the reason you got into it in the first place? maybe it will remind you of how much fun you have.

id say go out and look. hell i just came back from NZ awhile ago. sure the rave sence there isent as big, but it was different. its just s**t i forgot my camera charger and it died before the rave

I think a lot of it has to do with coming up in a scene where you learned a lot and you see all these kids that just want to do dope and dont even care to hear music just need someplace to be and then to pretend to know everything there is to know about being a raver and about every thing about every genre of music when they clearly don't tends to rub ppl the wrong way. You learn these things by experience not by overhearing bits and pieces of diffrent conversations at diffrent parties. The scene is just too cool for the old heads now!!

Meh.
Though I'm hesitant to post my age, I don't know of any scenes that would let me in if I wasn't already friends with all the doors around here.
But what's wrong with being a E-Tard? I'll knock back a few tabs of Molly before I hit the floor, now if I don't it's no fun, as you said, the scene is just boring now. Too many Happy Hardcore kiddies. Waaay to many. Though I hate ultra-purist all the same, just because I like Dj Daithi and Dogzilla doesn't make me a poser.
I'm probally one of the only Kandi's Kids left in my state, at least 'real' kandi. No short supply of squeakers here.
Gawd, I hate what it has become. No more PLUR, everything is just commercial and or about the 'look'. I stopped going to Temple just because of that, and it's the only perma-scene in my city, though it's more of a Arte-Grade spot.
Seriously, what happened to hugging random people and enjoying the music?
Now it's either annoying a** wannabe HxC dicks or ultra's who think they rule the s**t.

see, when i started raving it was out in the middle of ******** nowhere, Nebraska. raves were held old school in barns and abandoned houses and s**t, it was bring your own glow, a few colored lightballs and strobes up by the novice dj's, and we THREW DOWN. there was none of this high ticky price nonsense, and it didn't matter if the dj's weren't epic because you were in a real trance.
man, old school... i misses it.

that's just a natural transition.....every one of us will eventually become the jaded raver we never thought we'd be
we'll find events, etc. on occasion that bring us back to the beginning and we have one of the best times of our life. but the scene loses a little more magic each year you've been in it.

More then 2 years??? lol, try 10. I remember being 14 and going to my first rave. That was a hellava long time ago too. 0_0
I can say one thing... scenes change, even from month to month. Locations move and hot spots flare and burn out, but the music never stops. As long as there are still oldbies that started this whole crazyness to help the newcomers understand where the whole concept came from, then even the scene kid, trendy a**, b*****d Faux-Kandies can't ruin it.
Thats my 2 cents anyway.... O_o

i have been in the scene for 2 and a half years and i dont feel jaded at all i hear new djs all the time and i end up working with the crew and dj's its plenty of fun just chilling with the crews and hearing crazy new things

Now it's either annoying a** wannabe HxC dicks or ultra's who think they rule the s**t. .where u from? for me..it really is the same exact drum bass & happy anthems... i went to a party last weekend that had the same exact s**t at christmas... these days it's all about the massives & seeing awesome artist's live.... for me anyways... I'de rather take molly at home with some good friends & my fave acid beats .. with just a hint of infected, top that off with some fresh fruit & i'll call it a night.. kitties are always good too...
