Tahka's little rampage with anger and delight had not ended the night before when he had spoken to his sister how the fight he had with his brother, Mat. No, he was still riding on the fumes of the aftermath, giggling every time he looked at his chest. Two new cuts lay there, one of witch was his brother's mark and the other was his own. That’s right, Tahka had cut himself just to get Mat into more trouble that he was in, but in the end it was worth it. Not only had his little trap worked, but Mat’s cut wasn’t anything as good as Tahka’s, so it just made him laugh harder every time he looked at himself.
Such a sweet reminder of that night. He wouldn’t ever forget the night he got his brother kicked out of the family.
It was his stupid fault for being so stupid, Tahka believed as he trolled down Pride Lands, looking for something to do. His blood red eyes narrowed as the sun flashed at him widely, forcing him to move into shade. He seemed pissed off at first but then his giddy, wicked smile rolled across his maw again. Oh boy, he wouldn't be able to get over this for a while, he laughed.
Nothing could rain on his mood today.

Simi's own temper today was something of nothing. The prince had a habit of always looking up at the beginning of the day, that it would be better then the day before. Something he couldn't help, not with how his parents were. Plus everyone was always so nice to him, with just a pinch of teasing every now and then that he had nothing to fear.
The sound of laughter piqued his curiosity though, and he trotted towards the sound with rising interest. Just what was so funny today? The lion obviously had something funny to say, maybe Simi could get in on it? Funny stuff was usually good stuff!
He skidded to a stop though when he saw the lion. He was just about his size, maybe, so it certainly wasn't an adult. Hmm. And he looked kinda similar to Tufah. Sibilings? This was something to figure out, as well as this silly laughing.
"Uh...hello?" he asked, as if asking if the juvenile was even there, Simi's own brow furrowed. He was bleeding? And laughing? Maybe he just didn't know that he was bleeding, that was it.

“Hello hello.”
He mocked, twisting his smile into a dull look. His nose wrinkled as he gazed over the young male that stood in his way. He was a golden color, much like the royal family, and he was about the same size as Tahka, so he assumed he was also the same age. Tahka’s tail flicked from side to side as he spoke out rudely.
“And your name is?”
He wasn’t one for small chat, if this cub wasn’t anyone important than Tahka didn’t want to waste his time. The cut marks upon his chest were not bleeding anymore, only a thick layer of dry blood was left over from the night before, lacing his new scars to showcase to the world. He smirked.

Simi's head cocked to the side, confused on why he said hello twice. Was...he okay? Maybe it was shock. Yeah! Shock, that was it. If Simi was really nice, maybe he'd feel better, and that would brighten his day.
"Simi," he said, straightening his head out with a smile. "You remind me of Tufah..." he commented, his eyes trying to keep away from the fresh scars on his chest, but they just seemed to scream 'look at me!' It must be because they were right on his chest, right out in the open. "Doesn't your chest hurt?"
Oops, maybe that was too forward. Oh well, it was said.

”No, it doesn’t hurt.”
He puffed his chest some and gazed at Simi with cold eyes. He already didn’t like him, but the name rang a bell in his mind, he was of the royal family, he was kin… oh, this was going to be good.
“Tufha is one of my sisters, so it’s only natural that she and I look alike.”
He rolled his eyes and yawned, showing his lack of interest before speaking.
“Your one of the princes- are you not?”

Simi bounced up, his limbs stiff as he bounced around. Hah, he was right! It was kind of obvious though, especially because they were both as difficult to talk to, at least in the beginning. Maybe he would be just like her! Simi didn't even notice that the other male didn't give him a name.
Simi gave a nod, though he didn't exactly like to let everyone know that he was a prince. He wanted everyone to like him for who he was, and now what he was. Hard to do when you were part of the royal family though.
Simi didn't even register the yawning as something towards him, and he bounced right back into the conversation. "Yeah, I am! I guess it's kind of neat...I guess. It gets kinda old after a while, actually, but I can't change it, so oh well." A neutral way to put it, but it could be taken in either direction, good or bad.

Oh silly boy, Tahka thought as he wiggled his way deeper into conversation. He could run for miles with this. It was in his blood to be this way after all, or so his mother said, he couldn’t help his tricky ways. Tilting his head to the side he spoke out.
“Oh wow, that’s really neat!”
Rolling his eyes he slowly started to move around Simi, walking circles around the young prince.
“You know, that makes us related.”
He added on and stopped, gazing at him darkly.
“My grandfather is your grandfather’s brother. We are kin, you and I.”

The young prince noticed that something was a bit odd with Tahka, but as he had never really been met with anything but kindness in his life, he wasn't completely sure with what was going on. He cocked his head to the side, just slightly, watching as the darker red juvenile paced around him. What was he doing?
Simi's thoughts were quickly iterrupted as his ear twitched, picking up a very revealing comment from Tahka. Kin? Wait, so he was family with him? And if he was family with Tahka, then that meant that he was with Tufah, as well. Wow, his family just got a lot bigger.
A bit confused, he blinked a few times before peeking a glance at Tahka's face, his brown eyes looking for Tahka's red ones. "You mean Mufasa's brother? I...don't know anything about him."

“Oh really now? That’s a shame, would have thought that your family had told you, but I guess they felt it just wasn’t important enough.”
Oh boy, he was at it again. Tahka was just a bad cookie and he had found a new game to play. Simi just stole his interest and was now Tahka’s newest obsession.
“Or maybe that you weren’t important enough to tell. It happens sometimes.”
His words slid past his maw like needles, attacking the young prince’s sweet, innocent soul. He wanted to see Simi bothered by this, hurt even. He wanted him to crack out of that happy-go-lucky smile. He wanted to get into his head.
“Well, I guess I could tell you about him, that is, if you wanted me to.”

Simi was really surprised, initially, that Tahka taunted him about not being important enough. Now, he knew that he wasn't as important as his twin sibilings, since the two of them were the heirs, so they had to learn all this stuff and had a little more attention paid to them, but he didn't mind so much about that. Simi liked his freedom.
But he was a bit hurt that he wasn't important enough to learn about his family. And that showed. His head sunk towards the ground a bit, though his curiosity was still getting the better of him. Sometimes it would take multiple times for the boy to learn what he should of learned the first time; don't play with fire.
"Could you, Tahka, tell me? I'd like to know..." His confidence was shaken a little, but a small spark was still in his eyes as he asked Tahka what he wanted to ask him.

“Are you sure?”
Now he was just being a tease, pulling at the prince’s heart-strings. His eyes narrowed again as he glanced over Simi’s form and chuckled.
“I mean, I don’t want you to get into trouble or anything...”
He lied.
“I just, I want to make sure you want to know what you want to know.”

Simi puffed up his cheeks in a bit of embarassment, but mostly out of impatience. Of course he wouldn't get in trouble! The only ones that he could get in trouble with were his parents, and with so many sibilings running around, he was sure that if it really waaaaas something not so good, it'd get looked over anyways. Worked well, plus he had a bit of skill in hiding things, as he always ran off to explore caves and get in other sorts of things.
"I am sure, Tahka," he said firmly, standing his ground.

“Awww, alright then.”
Tahka’s jaws shut tightly as he moved around Simi, softly speaking out, as if to whisper.
“A long time ago, many many years before you and I were born- the king and his queen bore two sons, a golden male and a red male. They were the hope of the pride. The king named his red son the heir to the thrown and titled the golden one prince. Well, when the king and queen passed on and left the pride in the hands of the two brothers the golden brother became very jealous and angry at his brother and sought out ways to win the pride over.”
He paused and smirked, sitting close to Simi now. Yeah- so what if he was making up a lot of things, in the end this is how it went down, or so he was told.
“So once day, when the red male was with his lover the golden brother came to his side and told him that war had started not too far from the pride and that they were in need of aid. So the red male left, he did the better thing and went to help the falling lions to the north.”
More lies.
“And some time after, when the red brother returned he was shocked to see that everyone had forgotten him; his own brother had taken over the pride and had stolen his betrothed!”
As he spoke he slammed his paws down against the ground, as if to show his anger with the story, his own bitterness toward what happened.
“So, the red brother lived on the outskirts of the pride until he died, all alone; and the golden king rained down upon the pride that he had wrongfully stolen from his brother, baring cubs with his brothers one true love.”

Simi's mind absorbed everything that Tahka was telling him. Most of him flinched at horror with certain parts of the story, and he flushed when he heard the term 'lover'. He didn't think he was supposed to learn about that part!
His mind was torn on if he should really believe what Tahka was telling him. He was too young to be able to tell the difference between lies and truth, but some of it just didn't seem to match. Was he hinting at maybe relatives to them? From a long time ago? Tahka did not use names, only descriptions. Was this on purpose? His mind flew through many of the possibilites, but not a single one seemed to stick out at him. Thus, he didn't know what to think of the story that Tahka told him.
He let out a small yelp when Tahka slammed his paws down on the ground, not expecting that violent outburst. Well, obviously it was something to get upset over! Simi blinked at Tahka, his pupils slowly returning to size after the shock of his outburst.
"So you're saying..saying that Mufasa took his brother's place?" Simi's idea of Mufasa was nothing but love, so it was almost impossible for that vision to shatter. Almost.

“Mufasa did. He took the thrown and left his elder brother out to dry. Poor Taka didn’t even see it coming, pity all he had was his sorrow when he died.”
Tahka’s toes curled as he smirked to himself and nuzzled his forehead along Simi’s. Poor thing looked a mess now! Perfect.
“Now, you didn’t hear this from me, but I heard that after all of this happened poor Taka caught the plague, the sickness that had killed so many from other prides and died slowly and painfully and his brother never even bothered to see him before he passed.”
His red eyes narrowed as he pulled off a tiny whimper and gazed at his new friend.
“It’s a sad story, that one. Sad but true..”
