“What the hell is wrong with you?" Craig’s voice was furious, so unlike he normally spoke to Kyrin.
Ky flinched away from the words he yelled as he stood from his chair, his height had never been more apparent to her then it was now. “Craig-” She spoke lightly, afraid of her voice cracking.
But Craig cut her off, “How the hell did I ever think it would work with you? You are just a spoiled selfish brat! When are you going to grow up!?” There was a very slight pause before he went on, “Who goes into a bar when they are pregnant?”
“I didn’t drink!” Kyrin insisted, “I didn’t even stay long.”
“The hell you didn’t!”
“You aren’t listening!” Kyrin’s eyes brimmed with tears and her fear was replaced with irritation, as she stood and tried to make herself appear as tall as she could.
Craig all but dismissed her, “I have heard all I need to know!”
The mild conversation had turned into a shouting match much quicker then Kyrin had anticipated. Her head throbbed. “You don’t know anything!” She replied, “If you haven’t heard it from me then you don’t know anything!”
“My child is dead! I found out only days ago about the possibility and now I will never hold my child. Ever! It’s your fault!” He accused. “You don’t pay enough attention. I’m surprised you call yourself a Matsui.” Craig’s voice was low and dangerous as he shot insult after insult in Kyrin’s direction.
With every word he spoke, Kyrin became more distressed and the tears that she had finally been able to stop began to flow again, “That’s not fair…” She mumbled, and then with conviction she yelled, “That’s not fair! I didn’t do anything to harm my child!” Her voice faltered as she continued, “It just kind of happened…and now…” She sobbed, not able to continue with that train of thought. In her mind she panicked, and when she pulled herself enough back together, “I hate you! I hate you!”
Craig’s face didn’t soften but he had no words. He blamed Kyrin for everything that had happened, but her tears somehow still hurt. He reached his arm out towards her but she pushed him away and took off down the room, her bare feet making little noise on the carpet as she ran.
“I know you didn’t learn that type of disrespect from your father.” Han’s voice cut through the tense air. Kyrin had heard him, even from down the hall, and she knew that at that moment, Craig’s face went white.

Kyrin sighed at the memory as she sat in the empty park. It had been two days since she’s fought with Craig, and five since she’s left the mansion. She felt bad now for leaving without telling anyone and wondered how Jaydn was fairing. He probably thinks Draven kidnapped me… She thought with a laugh. The day before Kyrin had left, Draven had taken off again and Kyrin was almost sure that she’d never see him again. Pushing her feet against the hard dirt, Kyrin began to swing back and forth.

”He’s not worth it.” Han said lightly when he found Kyrin crying in the garden.
“I know.” Kyrin muttered, not bothering to reply in Japanese.
This left her father unfazed,
”Then why are you crying dear one?”
”The baby…”
Han’s expression softened and he helped Kyrin to her feet,
”Come now Kairi. Let’s go talk some place more comfortable.”

Han had been there for Kyrin from the moment that she came to him. Kyrin had thought that he would have been furious with her lack of responsibility. His understanding only made her cry more. Ky knew that she deserved to be reprimanded from the person that she most admired, and trusted, but he never said a harsh word to her about it. Showing love and compassion for Kyrin and his lost grandchild. After crying openly for nearly four straight days, Kyrin had managed to keep her emotions hidden behind a well placed mask.
Her new mask was up as she smiled to herself, “He’s not worth it,” She said to the morning air, and at that moment she thought she believed it, but she still missed him somewhere in her heart. She didn’t miss him near as much as her forever unborn child, but she was sure the pain would fade, she would just have to wait it out; to let it. She nodded and smiled the first true smile that had lit her face in days and she swung higher, her blonde tipped black hair flowing gracefully behind her.

The little girl pranced along happily, leaving her fussing guardian behind, Claira still loved to play at the park. She wasn't very big for her age and hadn't even begun to mature, although her jeans showed a very small change in the size of her hips, the pants were far to baggy to actually revealing (that was the way her father liked it). The young girl flipped her black hair out of her face and charged on towards the park, it was empty like normal, or at least it appeared to be so until she saw Kyrin sitting on the other side. Slowly creeping up, slightly skiddish[sp] about seeing someone in an almost always empty park, "Hi there!", she beamed when she got close enough to see the details of the lady's face, "What were you talking about?", was her first question in a long line that finally ended in, "My name's Claira!" Her voice was bubbly and soft like a young girls should be. She looked to be around thirteen, but simple logic would easily rule against that, her body (save her face) hadn't even entered puberty.

Lucas let Claira run ahead, dispite his protests. Lucas knew the park well enough, he'd been coming here with his daughter for about two weeks now and hadn't seen anyone. So he let his mind wonder, thinking of the past. The painful past, things that he would never forget.

~The sound of gunfire and the screams of dying men mingled together in a hateful symphony of pain. His ears were ringing, a mortar had just gone off, maybe ten, no. Five feet from him; dirt and blood blurred his vision. Three men were dead and two more dying, it was an ambush and things were going from bad to worse, "Private Collez, report!" Lucas heard himself yell. Another muffled voice came from the clouded noises not far from him; he couldn't understand it, "Say what?" The voice came again, this time more clear. The rining[sp] in his ears had finally stopped, "Sir! Private Collez is dead", Lucas knew at that point he'd have to call in an evac. There was no way he'd get all the men out of there alive, "Alright call First Srgt. El'royo, and tell him to get us an air evac. A.S.A.P"~

Lucas sighed, he lost seven men that day... It would stay with him forever, not that the death of his wife wouldn't.

Kyrin came out of her thoughts with a start, nearly falling from the swing. Placing her feet quickly to the ground to act as her breaks, Kyrin managed to stop the movement. The smile that had found its way to her lips gave way to a confused expression. She was alone, and then suddenly, there, a little girl? What? Kyrin couldn’t comprehend it for the first second, but then her mind filled in the blanks. She hadn’t been paying attention, so she hadn’t seen or heard the girl coming.

Relief spread across her body as she relaxed her muscles. Startled, she had prepared herself for a fight, but realizing that it was but a girl, she calmed herself. The girl sounded excited to see her, but Kyrin couldn’t comprehend why. She knew every face, every name of the people that she had come in contact with, and this little girl wasn’t anyone Kyrin knew. It had been a long time since Kyrin had interacted with someone as young as the girl, Claira. Kyrin’s pale eyes focused on Claira as she twisted her hands idly on the chains of the swing. Almost hesitantly she got off the swing and closed the distance between them, careful not to spook her. Bending down slightly, Kyrin introduced herself, ”My name is Ky,” Her voice was calm, and then curious, ”Are you here alone?” Ky looked around, scanning the area. She had, at one time, when she was about Claira’s age, been used as bait to lure someone out into the open, and the thought suddenly made her look at the girl a little differently. She was patient in waiting for Claira‘s response, though, not really worried. Ky was still very close to her father’s main base, and she didn’t anticipate anything bad happening to her here. When Kyrin didn’t immediately see anyone, she turned and smiled to the girl.

Claira blinked a few times as if in confusion and looked behind her, sending a little shiver down her spine. She realized now that her Dad was not in sight. Oh! Where are you Daddy? There was a short pause as she tried her best to put up a brave front, “N-no. I'm here w-with my D-Dad”, she finally managed to stutter. Even though Kyrin wasn't being threatening, the whole point she was talking with a stranger and her father was nowhere to be found scared her. “He must be...” she paused for a moment again, trying to calm her small fluttering heart, “Right there!” she exclaimed feeling relief wash over her.

Lucas had slowed his pace while doing his inner monologue and so, he was quite far behind his little daughter. Lucas worried for a moment, but then began to relax, they'd been coming for week, there was nothing dangerous around here, so Lucas took his time, slowly walking towards the park. Well, his pace was slow until he saw Claira standing in front of some woman he'd never seen before. She was strikingly beautiful, but that wouldn't interfere with Lucas protecting the only thing he had left in this world. He came up to the swing, keeping an eye on Kyrin the whole time, “Claira, what did I tell you?” Lucas paused for a moment, “Sorry if she bothered you Miss

Kyrin was a little taken a back by the fact that the little girl seemed to be afraid of her, but she set it aside in her mind, knowing that small children had every right to be afraid of strangers. Kyrin scanned the scene with Claira and her eyes settled on Lucas when he emerged. She watched him, a little wary, but didn’t show it on her face. Kyrin sized him up mentally and decided that he may pose some threat, but she had a gun on her, so she was calm. When he spoke, though, he didn’t seem threatening at all and Kyrin shifted into a more friendly posture. A smile spread across her lips, “She wasn’t bother me.” She said softly, “We were just talking. It was nice to have some company.” And it was true. Even though Kyrin had left the mansion for a bit, she wanted to go back, to be surrounded by the people there, knowing that they cared. Or at the very least, hoping that they did.

Kyrin pulled a couple of strands of hair over her ear and smiled again. She suddenly felt like she wanted to cry. Maybe its time to go home… But she didn’t move. Her whole body seemed frozen, but the tears didn’t fall. Her face didn’t give her away, but her aura wasn’t strong, she felt weak.

Lucas gave a nod, “Alright, then would you mind if I kept you company while Claira gets her fun in?” His voice was strong, but not aggressive. It was like cotton, durable and abrasive, but not unwanted. Lucas splayed a disarming smile across his face to assure Kyrin that his intentions were nothing but honorable. It was simply his way of doing things.

The man was charming to say the least, but in a rugged way, his cowboy like attitude and dark personality made him seem almost stereotypical, but that's the way he wanted it. Lucas kept his smile on the whole time as his thoughts began to wonder to his dearest, it had been a long time since he thought of her. Her death had been harder on Claira though, Avalon tried to remind himself of that. With no mother she didn't really have a female figure to base herself off of. Nothing to dream towards, it sickend Lucas that he couldn't do more for her. Claira's giggle yanked the man from his torpor, his eyes still settled on Kyrin... It had only been a heartbeat.

Claira let the two adults do there own thing as she ran off to play. She loved to pretend that she was a daring heroine on an adventure to save the world from dastardly villains (All of them men of course. Girl Power). In the misadventures of Miss A and her stupendous dog L, she was able to escape the world. She loved being with her father, but that wasn't the same as having both parents and Lucas never let her watch T.V complaining that women on there couldn't even take care of themselves let alone be an idol to a growing girl.

He always put restrictions on her like that, Claira didn't like it. She wouldn't dare argue with her Dad though, he always got really upset and then ended up sitting in his room alone for hours and coming out to apologize..but he did let her come on tonnes of fun missions to 'blow up' stuff. Claira loved seeing her Dad as the hero, it made her spine tingle.

It took Kyrin a moment to collect herself silently before she took note of what had just occurred. Kyrin’s pale blue eyes seemed to search Lucas’ own for a moment, as though she still didn’t trust the purity of his intent. Finding nothing, Kyrin felt herself let down her guard ever so slightly, ”That would be lovely.” She said finally. She watched Claira go to play and but her face was blank, no emotion present. It felt odd to be here, in the presence of two people she knew nothing about after enduring something so devastating, but as was Kyrin’s life and she was still getting used to it. She shoved all of her thoughts to the back of her head except for the ever lingering, I should go home… and turned to Lucas, ”I’m Ky.” She said softly, with an extended hand.

Lucas looked down to Kyrin, “Lucas”, he answered her simply while clasping her hand in his. Lucas's hands were rough and ever so delicate at the same time. His hands were calloused from his work on the farm and other odd jobs in the city, yet they felt smooth, like finely polished leather. He kept the smile on his face, for as long as he could stand, but it faded far to quickly. Avalon sat down beside Kyrin, he's knee's painfully scrunched because of his size. Swings in a play ground weren't exactly made for one of his stature.

Lucas eventually turned to Kyrin, “If you don't mind me asking, what brought you to this place? It's usually pretty deserted” The question was obviously put out there simply to spark conversation. Avalon lacked in such skills. To him, this was beating around the bush at his comfortability of sitting next to some strange woman.

Claira giggled as she watched her father. She was quite adept at following what was going on in his head while looking like she was fully immersed in her own little world. Is she going to be my new mom? I hope so.. she's pretty. The child thought to herself, not really thinking of the more important things like, how old Kyrin was, if she had a partner already and if she would want anything to do with Lucas and Claira. That's how children work though.. Always looking at the destination but never looking to the path to get there.

As Lucas sat down on the swing, Kyrin placed herself back in the one that she’s gotten up from when Claira had entered the park. With a sigh, Kyrin thought about the answer to his question, Well, I got pregnant, which was a big mistake and then I didn’t know who the father was because I am an underage drinking and the daughter of the biggest mob boss in the city, and then yeah. So once I came to terms with the fact that I was going to have a child I lost the child in a miscarriage, how is that for ironic for you. And then I got into a huge fight with my first ever crush and long time lover and I honestly don’t think that the kid was even his, but since he was already pretty mad anyway I didn’t have the heart to tell him. And now that I have finally stopped crying I decided that I needed some air, and this park had no one in it so I thought that it would be a nice place to sit and think to myself. ”I used to come here as a child.” She said simply as she played with the chain on the swing. ”Its never too busy here, so my father would let me come and play. I guess I just missed slowing down.” She smiled up at him and shrugged. ”What brings you.” She said pleasantly, ”Other then the obvious.” She said motioning to Claira.
