WASHINGTON (AP) - A U.S. Patriot missile was accidentally fired from a military base in Qatar, hitting a nearby farm, the Pentagon said Tuesday. Defense Department spokesman Bryan Whitman said the missile landed in an "unpopulated farm area" and no one was injured.
The incident—which occurred Monday night in Washington time, Tuesday in Qatar—is being investigated, Whitman said.

its crap that something like that could even happen without the military being able to know about it as it happened. they coulda tried to stop it at least. if nothing eles could they have evn been positive that it was unpopulated?

well you have to look at the area. you have smoking crater, absolutely nothing around it, I doubt that there would be some random village in the middle of no where

deathmetal01 true but you never really know it coulda been just a single house or somthin they just felt like having target practice on. then why would the pentagon even announce it then, wouldn't it make more sense to just keep the whole think quite if that was indeed the case

unless thee were witnesses to the missle hitting. then they would have to kill the people or just cover it up by calling it a mistake.

It is highly unlikely that the military would risk exposure by even mentioning it at all when they could just silence the only witnesses.
