Hacking is horrible. evil BAD HACKERS!!!!!

This is my third account on Gaia.I've been hacked twice and on my last account I had three rare items.Oh!!Thats SOB made me soooooooooooooo mad!!!!!

99% of the time, "I got hacked" means "I got redirected to a fake Gaia Online page and was tricked into giving away my info!" This is called phishing and requires no skill at all, as opposed to hacking which requires a fairly intimate knowledge of programming and code. I fell for the scam once, caught my mistake pretty quickly (was like wait a minute...) and used the "reset password" option before any harm was done. Stay alert and pay attention to what you're doing, especially on pages you've never seen before. Reset your password if you're in any doubt.

So hackers. If you caught the attention of an actual hacker, losing some fake gold and items would be the least of your concerns. A true hacker would probably ignore the users here (you're small fry, unless you did something to piss someone off) and go straight to causing some havoc on the server itself. Real hackers like to break security systems, crash servers, steal admin passwords, execute DDOS attacks, remotely hijack unprotected PCs (often for use in DDOS attacks), and of course they deface major websites and plant viruses for the lulz.
