Yeah yeah... you all know it by now... Sibby and his stupid antics... So what did he do this time?
Well, Sibby likes to take apart things... hell, he still takes apart vcr's... among other things... LOTS of other things... microwaves, computers, tvs... etc.
And unlike most people, Sibby manages to fix a "decent" proportion of the broken things he takes apart... (not counting the really old computer stuff he takes apart that probably still worked beforehand... ^_^( ) )
Well, I got my hands on a scanner (and some other computer stuff, and actually made an ipod charger... but i digress...) and decided that since I've heard that there's at least a nice fluorescent light, if not a nice ccfl setup inside (and other nifty electronic components that can be used to build cool stuffs... n_n)... I wanted to take it apart...
So, I take it apart... and that goes without a hitch... couple of circuit boards... motors... and a nice ccfl tube and inverter... SCORE! n_n
Hook'd it up to a 9 volt... works ok, but it needs more power (scanner ran offa 12v)... so I grabbed a 12v server battery (scored a bunch offa autozone, people drop off batteries for disposal, and provided they're not actually cores (then i'd need a battery to switch for it) or a return (can't touch them...) then I can run off with 'em...) and hooked it up...
It's nice... really friggin bright... like a florescent light, but small, but still with the brightness... n_n
So, Sibby's playing with it... and... well... If you know anything about florescent lights, you know they need high voltage... lots of voltage, in order to run...
You know where I'm going with this, right?
Yeah... Sibby got himself GOOD with it... I mean, it really hurt...
And take into consideration that Sibby's the kind of person that pulls out a 9v battery and a transformer and shocks the s**t outta himself "for fun"... So when I say it hurt, it really ******** hurt...
It burnt a little on my thumb... crying
Oh well... it still wasn't as bad as when Sibby gets himself with his soldering iron... which he managed to do AGAIN today... x_o
>_>( )
Don't be surprised if you wind up hearing that Sibby electrocuted himself, or somehow managed to stab himself with his soldering iron while on... or something similar...
Oh well, I'm not dead yet! n_n

Wow, Sib. You're just as bad as me, if not almost or worse, when it comes to getting hurt.
And I'm the same person who sliced open her lip with a pair of scissors, because I was being weird and putting it extremely close to my face, when I was a bit younger. And I fell off a pirate-ship play structure, actually bruising my kidney. And have bruised myself several times. And tripped over various things....
Well, at least you're not the only one who has injured their self doing bizarre things? xd
Just be glad that didn't kill you, or at least seriously hurt you. 3nodding

Poor Sibby. xd Like you said, though! At least you're not dead yet?
And hopefully won't be anytime soon. >w<;

Oh dear. Aloe is your friend. xd
It seems I'm accident prone whenever prickly and/or thorny plants are involved. If it can impale me in any way, I'm sure to trip and fall in it. Or slip and involuntarily grab it (argh devil's club >>).
I hope your various burns heal soon. And that you don't end up killing yourself. That would be sad. 3

It's been a while since I "played" with anything... *Looks at the broken scanner in his closet and then the soldering gun and tools under his bed.* >.>

Oh my, Sibby. If it were me, I probably would have accidentally killed myself, because everyone I know considers me to be an extremely big klutz. xd But as Tedie said, Aloe Vera will help ease the pain of the burn a bit. Erm, probably.

Yeah, my mom's got a couple Aloe Vera plants growing in pots, both outside on the porch (where I tend to do my "work") and in the kitchen... And Sibby's attacked just about all of them, at one point or another... ^_^( ) It's really not a "pointy" plant though, though it looks "kinda" like a cactus... o.o
And Eiki, even if you don't wanna make your own badass lamp with the scanner, you can still take the inverter that drove said ccfl bulb, and make a "stun gun" with it... o_o But you shouldn't really need the soldering iron to take apart the scanner, unless you're into scavenging lots of small electric parts, switches, leds, resistors, ic's, and the like... o.o But dun hurt yourself, k? ^_^

Wow. o.o Well.. Take care of those burns.
I do stuff like that.Except I take apart calculators out of boredom. That I had to use for school. So. Nothing major...Yet...Fixing things is fun.
But, you still need to be careful. DX We don't wanna lose Sibby.

korikun the cat Gee, what kind of cool stuff can you make?
~<3 salvaged switches + salvaged diode + salvaged resistor (from misc electronic stuffs... n_n) + salvaged dvd laser diode (from a dead dvd burner) = This! And Leds and switches salvaged from stuffs make nice keychains (or flashlights if you get really bright leds...) Motors can be used... for "wierd" things... move stuff around... hell, get enough of these, and you can make your own robotic arm (and with the salvaged circuitry from stuff, you *might* be able to make a nice interface for it to your compy, though you'll prolly have to buy it... >_>( ) ) Oh, and a transformer and a battery make a nice "shock"... but the inverter from the scanner, or other florescent setups, will do a better (a.k.a. LETHAL) job... Oh, and computer hard drives have "supermagnets"... And if you have to ask what to do with "supermagnets"... you'll never understand... n_n
