Very slowly, a blue colored Angelic kitsusagi raised his head from a clump of bushes and "looked" around - or at least seemed to. For this kitsu was blind ... totally and completely so. Normally, this was unheard of in Angelics, supposedly born perfect ... so one could assume something had happened to him.
The kitsu's fur was also tattooed in strange patterns about his neck and down the length of his back. Though the colors of the tattoos matched natural markings on paws and face, there was something different about them, strange. Possibly even otherworldly. He was thin and looked rather malnourished, a wary tightness to every muscle - ready to run.
At the faintest noise, the blue Angelic flattened himself to the dirt again with a little stifled whimper, terrified ... of what, even he wasn't really sure. All that he knew ... was that he had escaped some horrible place, and he was never going back. And he also knew that he was broken ... damaged ... different now than all the rest ... all his friends from before. Not that he really remembered them either. All of it was a haze, a fog he was afraid to look into for fear of what lurked there....

A small kit colored like the blue of the sky when it faded from day to night trod daintily down a little path that wound near the bushes that Aureo Einen hid in, blue-dark paws pausing in their steps every few paces as she stopped to seemingly stare at a dark green leaf, a purple berry, a white flower.
Though in her case, "listen" would be a more accurate term. She had a permanent case of confusion called synesthesia, where one sense often triggered a response from another usually not related; i.e. the way she "heard" colors as much or more than she actually "saw" them. It was a difficult thing to deal with sometimes for the playful little kit; all the input from crowds of people made her head hurt abominably, and even watching brightly colored butterflies flap their wings made her have fits from the cacophony of sound it caused.
Still, she was a sweet thing, and innocent to a fault at her young age. So when she saw the angelic cowering in the bush, with his silver and blue hues setting off a pleasant sort of chiming in her ears, she thought nothing of plopping herself down on her furry little bum and tilting her head at him. "Mr. is... something. Scared? Did you see a creepy bug?" She lowered herself to her belly and crept forward. "I hope not... they're scary and crawly... and... something. Gross?"

Aureo made another little frightened noise at the voice and flattened himself to the dirt, ears laying back against his head. It took him a long moment or two to realize ... the voice wasn't that of an adult. Just a kit, then ... kits weren't scary ... it was ok ...
With a little shudder, he very slowly let ears come up, and swivel toward the kit. "itwasn'tabug," he said - voice quiet ... words coming very fast.

Saphira tilted her head for a moment. "Was it one of the meany birds? They chased me around yesterday... It was Eruanna who bothered them, but no, I'm the one that gets chased..." She sighed and then shimmied her way under the bush and put her forepaws over one of his. "By the way Mister, your fur is nice to listen to. It sounds even prettier than mine." Tail wag.

Aureo shook his head at that, shrinking back a little when the bushes rustled - until he realized it was only the kit. Get a grip on yourself ... at least a little bit of one. "Uhm," he said, trying to make an effort to calm down. "Notabirdeitherwhatdoyoumeanlistentomyfur?"

Saphira looked at him for a moment. And noticed that he wasn't... really... looking back. Hmm? "Could you... try... talking a little slower, Mister?" She curled up in a ball with her tails tucked between her forepaws. "And I mean... listen. I hear the colors. I know my friend Eruanna doesn't hear colors but... I do..." She sucked in her cheeks and blew them out. "And your voice... tastes like orange. 'Cause I taste sounds not caused by colors..." X: "Now you're gonna think I'm weird too..."

Aureo blinked at that, slowly relaxing just a bit. Hearing colors and tasting sounds...? That was a bit odd. But then again ... he couldn't say much. With a little whimper at the memories that brought back, he flattened himself to the ground, wings rustling as they came up to half-cover him ... hiding. Hide away, don't see me, don't hurt me ... please...

Saphira waited a few moments for a reply but got none. Her new acquaintance simply seemed to withdraw into himself, and then he whimpered and seemed to shiver in fear. The kit crept carefully over his paw so she could reach up to gently stroke the spot above his eye and back to where his ear started the way Eruanna's dad had done for her before when she woke up from a bad dream. She'd found it comforting... though she wasn't sure if it would help the angelic. She didn't even know what was wrong with him. "It's ok, Mister... nothin' scary here now... just me and some leaves and some dirt..."

At first Aureo flinched at the touch, lost in memories for a moment. But when there wasn't any actual pain associated with it, he started to relax again. He just ... really wished that it wasn't so dark. He hated the dark ... and now he was stuck there. Forever ...
With a little shiver, he forced those thoughts away and made a little noise of acknowledgment. "Justyou...leavesanddirtandwon'thurtme," he said quietly.

Saphira tilted her head at his words, but smiled that he'd relaxed some. "No... won't hurt you. At least, not apurpose. My friend Eruanna wouldn't, either, unless you tried to pin her down or something. She'd probably bite then. But you wouldn't do that... I bet you don't like that either."
She wiggled slightly and stuck her nose to his cheek, giggling softly at the tickle it caused her nostrils. "Why are you staying under this bush anyway, Mister? Are you lost?"

Aureo tensed every time the kit moved, but slowly ... very slowly ... he was starting to get used to her presence there. She wasn't going to hurt him ... it was ok. Good gods, he was pathetic. But he couldn't help it. Too much had happened to him in the past to be put off so lightly...
Lost. Was he lost..? With a low, wordless whine, he shut his eyes and tried in vain to repress a little shiver. "AlwayslostlostinthedarkandthepainandcoldwanttogetoutwantlightwanttoSEEbutIcan't..." he murmured in a long string of choked-out, upset words.

Saphira's little ears slowly pinned themselves to the back of her head when it sank in what he was saying. "You can't see?" She rubbed her cheek gently against his in an attempt to be comforting.
"Maybe you can... learn to... listen? And feel... and... taste and smell more?" She was trying, she was really trying to think of a way to help. The people... the people she lived with said they knew a nice Nightmare. She couldn't see... maybe she could help? But... how was Saphira supposed to find her? No... maybe some other time, but... not now.
But it wouldn't do to leave him out here in the woods, either. She couldn't stay forever and ever, though she wished she could, he sounded so horribly miserable. Where to take him? Hmm... "I can maybe... help with the cold part? If you don't mind following me... I'll make sure we don't walk too close to any tree roots or rocks or anything so you won't trip..." She could take him to HQ... they had lots of rooms there, and it was close, and he'd be out of the weather and the cold. And they could find a quiet room where he wouldn't be bothered too much, and she could come back maybe with someone who could help more...

(( *nods* XD ))
"Killedmyeyes," he said very very quietly, with another small shiver. Those golden eyes slid shut then, as he listened to her talk, wings tucked in close to his body. He knew how to do some of those things but it was hard still, as he'd only escaped from his tormentors not too long ago.
Someplace warm sounded nice though ... it just meant ... he would have to leave here. Go out into the open...
"Butwhatiftheycomeandseeus?" he asked her, ears flattening. She was just ... a little kit. If they got her too ....

Saphira stroked his cheek comfortingly with her own. Bad people... bad people did this. People he was so terrified of he was afraid to leave the bush! And he was worried about them finding the pair if they went anywhere.
"I've got friends. I've got really powerful friends. Anyone tries to do anything to me and my friends would... what's that thing Eru said?... Oh! My friends would 'go freaking apeshit'. They'd rescue us. Besides... where I wanna take you isn't so far. It should be okay..."

Aureo kind of blinked slightly at that, actually relaxing just a bit when she touched him. Just a kit, nothing to be afraid of, really ...
"O-ok.." he said slowly, very quiet, pushing himself up to his feet sort of shakily. "Whichwayisit?" he asked then, moving head back and forth like he was trying to find some kind of point of reference.
