Muk (ベトベトン, Betobeton?, Betbeton in original Japanese language versions) is one of 493 fictional species from the Pokémon franchise. "Muk" is a derivation of the word "muck", meaning dirt or slime, as per its body structure and appearance. Its Japanese name is a play on べとべと betobeto, the word for "sticky".

BIOLOGY
Muk is a living manifestation of sludge and waste. Muk thrives in toxic waste and garbage. It inhabits any polluted area; including abandoned factories, garbage dumps and sewers. It is said that its smell is comparable to that of reeking kitchen garbage, especially during hot summers. When caught, a Muk's stench can permeate the pokeball, escaping to every nose within range.
Muk itself is also a source of pollution. As Muk slides across the ground, it leaves behind a trail of highly poisonous sludge. Muk and Grimer are known for traveling into water and polluting it and killing plants with their sludge. Muk could be considered antagonistic of Suicune, a Pokémon with the ability to purify dirty or polluted water. It can also be considered antagonistic of Celebi, which can bring dead plants back to life.
Muk's thick, sticky sludge can be used to trap foes in battle. Muk can Body Slam the foe, entangling them in its sludgy belly. It can appear suddenly, ensuing panic. It's characteristic resembles like a slime or a blob.
There is no differentiation between male and female Muk.
Muk sustain themselves by consuming filthy food that humans throw away on the street or in the garbage- the more rancid it is, the better.
Through an unknown anomaly, some few Muk have been found who possess a sickly green color instead of the normal purple. It has been hypothesized that the diet of the particular Muk might be the cause, or the environment- but no one knows for sure.
AREA
Muk likes to stay in warm and moist places. Groups of them may accumulate in dirty places, such as garbage dumps or sewers. Another known accumulation area is in dirty back alleys in towns. In the summertime, the toxic substances in its body intensify, making Muk reek like putrid kitchen garbage.
ABILITY
Stench - Random encounters with wild pokemon decrease when this pokemon is at the head of your party.
Sticky Hold - Keeps foes from stealing Muk's items with attacks like Trick or Thief

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
In keeping with model fashion, Clarissa is both tall and very slim. Her skin is suitably smooth and creamy, free of blemishes (which takes quite a lot of work, thank you), and her hair is suitably well cared for. Long and carefully permed, Clarissa is very proud of her dark brown hair, and almost never cuts it. As a result, it hangs to the small of her back, and tied very low, to keep it (mostly) out of her face.
Clarissa is a firm believer in the wonders of cosmetics, and never steps out of her lodgings without makeup on. She has no qualms about revising her physical appearance either, if it will give her an edge in the modeling industry, as evidenced by her slightly too large to be natural bust line.
She dresses only in the highest fashion, firmly believing that he must wear the best to look the best- as such, no one has ever seen her dress down but her parents.
PERSONALITY
Stuck up. Spoiled. Self centered. These are words that come to mind when one thinks of Clarissa. Of course, not everyone is willing to say this about her. Her parents adore her, she is her manager's cash cow, she is her boyfriend's dream girl, and she is her underling's worst nightmare. They wouldn't say a bad word about her if they wanted to. To everyone else, though... it's a different story.
Clarissa is very used to getting her own way in things, and will often order people around whether she means to or not. Usually she means to. Her behavior in most cases is toxic, or toxically sweet. She cares about little else other than herself, and her parents.

Clarissa is an only child of a wealthy couple. As such, she has been mercilessly spoiled all of her life. One good thing that has come of this is an unshakable self confidence.... one bad thing is an unshakable superiority. Her father, Hubert, is a moderately successful tycoon of the agricultural industry, controlling a fair amount of the edible veggies and fruits within the Kanto region. Her mother, Virginia, is of Old Money, and has no job other than to manage the household and spoil her daughter. Her grandparents are just as bad.
HOW SHE GOT TO THE ISLAND
In her quest to always remain the most beautiful, most desirable model in the industry, Clarissa is always on the lookout for new ways to obtain that goal. One day, on a photo shoot trip to the Sinnoh region, Clarissa heard the (carefully spread) rumors of just such a way..
Enthralled, Clarissa researched the rumors until she came upon something called CRONUS. Mistaking the name to represent a hold on time - youth- she arranged with her manager and parents to broadcast that she is going on a vacation to 'find herself', and would not be expected back for at minimum a few months. That settled, she makes her way to the island, expecting to find a new and successful way for her to keep the flush of youth that is slowly but surely fading away...
FUTURE PLANS
A big kick in the rear self confidence wise, that's for sure. After she suffers such a blow to her ego, Clarissa will become easier to get along with, I think...But she will be much easier to anger, especially when it comes to her looks.
