Tear was in trouble.
How did she know this? Well, it was hard to miss that she was growing fat, even if she hadn't found some standing water to peer in when she started to suspect. And it scared her, because...she hadn't the foggiest idea who the sire was. Her problem wasn't that she had bedded so many stallions that she didn't know which one was the sire. She didn't remember bedding any stallions at all! Perhaps that was for the best, if she found Disillusion again...but it scared her, that she might do it again and not remember a damn thing about it. So as the rain pattered down, she paced and fretted in her 'home' during inclement weather, a tiny clearing with an overhanging of rock for shelter.

He stomped through the much, scowling as the mud streaked up his legs, getting in his beautiful mane, and mucking up his shiny feathers. His hair was so loaded down with water, that it appeared STRAIGHT. And LIMP. And that was something Kishi couldn't stand for. His hair was supposed to be- well, that was a problem he could muse on later.
His current problem was that he thought there had been an... incident. A few weeks, days, sometime... back with a mare he could vaguely recall as being attractive. It was somewhat hard to recall, as he had apparently been under the influence of some external source- namely an odd mix of herbs that Citlalli had mixed him to help him get rid of a... sniffle he'd had.
But he could DISTINCTLY recall there had been a mare involved. Thankfully.
The sight of a rocky overhang made him break into a trot. If it wasn't big enough for two, and someone was there, they were about to be violently displaced. And if they didn't want company, well. That was too bad, wasn't it?

The azure mare's nostrils flared as she started to hear hoofbeats, angry-sounding ones. And they were headed towards her. Could it be the sire? Disillusion? A kalona? Ears laying back against her head, she backed under the overhang as far as she could go...which admittedly wasn't much. Sure, it was roomy as far as those went, but it wasn't a cave. And Tear was mightily wishing for a cave to hide in right now. "Who's there?!" she called out with a toss of her head, trying to hide her trepidation and dread.

He heard a female voice call out and peeked around the side of the overhang, eyes landing on a mare. A mare that was QUITE plump with child. And small as the overhang was, rainy as it was, he wasn't going to kick a pregnant mare into the rain. She looked vaguely familiar, though he couldn't place her. "Kishi." he said finally, voice gravelly with the chill and rain. "My apologies if I am disturbing you, I'm just looking for some shelter. May I come under with you?"

While the name didn't ring a bell at all in Tear's mind, there was something strange about how the stallion looked. He seemed familiar, and yet she couldn't recall meeting any Soquili that looked as he did. Selene perhaps, but she was azure like herself...that surely wasn't it. With a soft snort, she moved aside, nearly to the point of putting herself in the rain. "Tear."

He shook his head, moving until he was just barely out of the rain. "Please, come in deeper. You don't need to get wet." he said finally, bending his head to grip his mane in his teeth, wringing the water from it carefully. "Thank you Tear." he gave her a faint, quick smile. She was so shy. "Have... we met before?" he frowned slightly. She did look like Selene, but there was an obvious difference in height and coloration. "You seem so familiar."

Tear flicked an ear back, but shifted inside a little deeper one step. Just one. At least she wasn't quite so jumpy as normal...maybe she should try this pregnancy thing more, if it gave the same effect as knowing Dissy was around. "I...I don't know," she said slowly. She'd been about to say that she didn't think so, but...why? Why couldn't she place this stranger in her memory? "Why?"

He shook his head. "No reason." he said finally, glancing back into the rain. He was silent for a while, before it felt almost awkward to him. He kept glancing back at her rounded belly, and wondering about the life there. "How did you get stuck in the rain?" he asked finally, extending a wing a bit to stretch it out and help it to dry. "I wandered too far and didn't notice the clouds."
Little chat. Little chat. Stop staring at her belly.

"There are few places that are 'too far' for me," Tear replied quietly, though her tail started to twitch. Not being able to place where she felt she knew this stallion from was really getting under her skin. Trying not to let it faze her in one of her more lucid moods, she continued. "You look familiar. But I don't remember you." Her brow furrowed, hoping that the pit in her stomach was just a side effect of her condition. She didn't remember waking up anything but alone anytime recently...what would be the chances such a stallion would just wander back?

"I see." his voice was bland. And his head was starting to hurt. She looked like...
Oh. Oh no. He stared at her belly again, a small bit of horror dawning. That... could explain so very much. And he would be in so very, very, very much trouble. But she didn't remember him. It couldn't be. ... It would be a bad thing if it was, wouldn't it?
Finally he threw tact out the proverbial teepee-flap and glanced sidelong at her. "So the father isn't taking care of you?"

He'd been staring at her belly several times in the past few minutes now. That, combined with the nagging familiarity and pit in her stomach, was getting to Tear. When he asked about the sire, her head jerked up and she stared at him, eyes widening slightly. "No...he hasn't been." Backing up a step or two with her tail lashing, she whispered, "What do you know?"

He shook his head violently. "I don't! I was just curious!" Why was she so spooked now? He backed up. "Don't get in the rain, you'll get sick." his voice was firm. "If you're uncomfortable, I'll leave."

"Stay...you know something. Or you think you do." Tear's brows furrowed, and her silver eyes stared into his, searching for the truth. She was starting to suspect, but she still wasn't sure. She knew her mind wasn't like those of others...what if she was wrong, what if her instincts lied? "Tell me?" Her voice dropped to a plea. She needed to know.

He frowned. "I..." he looked unsure. "I don't know either, and I don't want to upset you..." his voice trailed off, and he frowned lightly at her belly. "But I think I took advantage of you when I was on herbs. For my sniffle." he assures her quickly. "I don't take herbs on a regular basis, by any means."

For an instant, Tear wanted nothing more than to hurt Kishi, very badly. A moment later the urge was gone, quashed by the thought that she had no idea how she might have been acting. "I wish I could remember, at least," she said finally. "I...I guess you could say I'm not right in the head...but I didn't know that I could..." She shook her head. "At least I know. I was worried. Still am..." She kept remembering herself and Joy, knowing little of their mother and nothing of their father.
